James W. Bramlet
James W. Bramlet, 69, of Destin, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2002.
Jim was born September 4, 1932, to Wendell and Mamie Bramlet of Harrisburg, and graduated from H.T.H.S. in 1950 Jim enlisted in the Army in 1954, received his commission in 1956, and married
his high school sweetheart Barbara Fearheiley. Jim continued serving the country he loved so much reaching the rank of Colonel.
Colonel Bramlet, a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, U.S. Army Ranger school, U.S. Army Armor Officer Career course, the Defense Language Institute, Army Special Warfare School, and the Army Command and General Staff College served in Vietnam from 1964 to 1965 and 1968 to 1969. During his career, Colonel Bramlet served with the 92nd Infantry Brigade in Puerto Rico, commanded the 3rd Airborne Battalion, the Army Mobilization Command, was Inspector General for the 18th Airborne Corps, and was one of the founders of Eagle University Fort Campbell, Ky. Jim was also a Master parachutist, and a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Army Infantry School where he was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame. Colonel Bramlet's military decorations include the Silver Star, four Bronze Stars, two with V device, the Air Medal with V device, the Meritorious Service Medal with cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, five awards of the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Expert Infantry Badge. An avid golfer and reader, Jim was more importantly a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Wendell and Mamie Bramlet and his brother Jerry. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Barbara Bramlet; daughters Laura Cox and husband Chan of Destin, Fla.; Patty McWhorter and husband Doug of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Cindy Blanton and husband Darrell of Destin, Fla.; grandchildren Cassie and Caitie Cox, Devin McWhorter and future grand-baby Danielle McWhorter, Kristen and Jimmy Blanton; and sister-in-law Linda Bramlet of Harrisburg.
A memorial service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the First Baptist Church of Destin with Rev. Bob Boone officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The American Cancer Society or Covenant Hospice. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home Niceville entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial services for Marlene Jermeay Braden, 68, of Lapeer, Mich., formerly of Galatia, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Tates Chapel Church. She was born July 20, 1933.
Edward B. Scott
Edward B. Scott, 50, of 105 Southwest Drive, Harrisburg, died 4:20 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Lee Scott.
Dorothy Oglesby
Dorothy Oglesby, 77, of Verona, Miss., formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Lee Memorial Chapel in Verona with the family speaking. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Oglesby; six children; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
Edith Allen
Edith Allen, 104, of McLeansboro, died 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Rachel Stockle officiating. Burial will be in the Enfield cemetery in Enfield. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2002, at the funeral home.
She is survived by seven stepgrandchildren; 18 great-stepgrandchildren; several great-great-stepgrandchildren; a stepdaughter, six nieces and a nephew.
Martha Crayne
Martha Crayne, 83, of Grayville, died 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at her residence.
She was born March 14, 1919 at Broughton, the daughter of Lee and Jewel (Allen) Leonard. She was married
Nov. 16, 1943 at Shawneetown to Arthur C. "A.C." Crayne, who preceded her in death on March 27, 2002. Mrs. Crayne was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jo Thomas and two brothers, Nick and Charles Leonard.
Mrs. Crayne was a member of the Grayville First United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the White Shrine and was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one daughter, Marsha Beasley of Grayville; one son, Richard Crayne of Equality and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Sturm Funeral Home in Grayville. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Equality.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at the funeral home, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ruby Wasson
Ruby Wasson, 85, of 25 Redbud Road, Harrisburg, died 1:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Services will be held 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2002 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating and cremation to follow. Burial will be in Lafayette cemetery in Fayetteville, N.C. at a later date. Visitation is 5 p.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
She was born March 19, 1917 in Saline County to Ed and Susa (Potts) Brown. On May 1, 1994, she married
Charles Wasson, who survives.
She was a retired optometrist's assistant and a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisburg.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two stepdaughters, Judy Wathen of Goreville and Jane Ellen Lightner of Raleigh; a sister, Mickey DeLee of Sun City West, Ariz.; a niece, Sondra Rouse of San Jose, Calif.; a nephew, Michael Womack of Longboat Key, Fla.; and six stepgrandchildren, Brad, Sonya, Brian and Marilyn Wathen and Kimberly and Cody Lightner.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Cantrell and Helen Whaley.
Steven R. Goldman
Steven R. Goldman, 49, of Canon City, Colo., formerly of Eldorado, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at LaJunta, Colo.
Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Mountain View Church in Canon City with Pastor Vic Rader officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Morris; his mother; two daughters; a grandson; a brother a sister; a sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mabel Stricklin
Mabel Stricklin, 87, of 1006 S. McKinley St., Harrisburg, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Burial will be in Liberty cemetery. Visitation is noon to service time Sunday at the funeral home with Rebekah Rites at 1 p.m.
She was born July 15, 1915, in Harrisburg to Harry and Pearl (Epperheimer) Aldridge. On Jan. 12, 1936, she married
Charles Stricklin, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of Dorrisville Social Brethren Church in Harrisburg. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, a past noble grand and the district president.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Dalton of Harrisburg; a son, James A. Stricklin of Sullivan, Ind.; a daughter, Sue Mackin of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Cathy Hemmerich of Harrisburg, Beth Harris of Carterville, Andy Stricklin of Griffin, Ga., and Glen Stricklin of Sullivan, Ind.; several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Helen Stump of Harrisburg and Margaret Churin of Texas.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Aldridge.

Byford Earl Norman, 76, of 5541 Auld Ln., Holiday, Fla., died 4:04 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at Pontiac Osstoatoic Hospital in Pontiac, Mich.

He is survived by his wife, Loveta (Banks) Norman of Holiday, Fla.; a son, Gary Norman of Pontiac, Mich.; three brothers, Butch (Betty) Norman of Elizabethtown, Troy (Jana) Norman of Odin and Homer Hayes of New Port Richie, Fla.; a sister, Ida Marie Haney of Eldorado; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Bryan and Essie Mae (Lambert) Norman; a brother and two sisters.

Helen K. Wilson, 81, of 2A N. Texas St., Harrisburg, died 8:55 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with the Rev. Roy Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1921 in Benton, Mo., to the late Corbett and Lucy Isabelle (Allen) Wilson. On Oct. 7, 1942, she married
Gratton Wilson Jr., who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1980.
She was a nurse's aide and a former member of Vision Baptist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Robert E. (Debbie) Wilson of Harrisburg, Ted (Pat) Wilson of Vienna, Jerry "Willie" (Debbie) Wilson and Ron "Butch" (Phyllis) Wilson, both of Harrisburg; a daughter, Sue Clay of Harrisburg; a brother, Woodrow Wilson of Harrisburg; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Henrietta Winters and Hazel Wilson; three brothers, C.R. Weldon and Curtis Wilson and two grandchildren.
