Mary L. Fulton
Mary L. Fulton, 83, of 22400 Healy Rd., Omaha, died 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha with the Rev. Chris Rego officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge cemetery in New Haven. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born in Norris City on June 18, 1918, to the late Virgil H. and Anna Maude (Calvin) Moore. On July 19, 1942, she married Layton E. Fulton, who preceded her in death on March 12, 1997.
She was a member of the Omaha Nazarene Church.
She is survived by two sons, Keith Fulton of Omaha, and Dwight Fulton of Norris City.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Morris.

Hazel Heath
Hazel Heath, 92, of Ridgway, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Ferrel Hospital in Eldorado.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Burial will be in Jackson cemetery in Ridgway. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 28, 1910, near Cottonwood to the late William and Nolas (Dillard) Anderson. She was married to Fred Heath, who preceded her in death in 1951.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Ridgway and was a Past Worthy Matron. She was a General Baptist by faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Baker of Equality and Cheryl (Donnie) Mills of Morganfield, Ky.; two sons, Ray (Glenda) Heath of Eldorado and Carl (Becky) Heath of Marion; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Martha S. Mitchell
Martha S. Mitchell, 95, of Golconda, died 3 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.
Services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Hosick Funeral Home in Golconda with the Rev. Billie Green officiating.
Burial was in Waltersburg cemetery in Golconda. Visitation was 1 p.m. until funeral home Sunday at the funeral home.
She was survived by a sister, Elizabeth Kirk of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Frances Davis of Golconda; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Nora (Owens) Davis; her husband, Alvis "Doc" Mitchell; two sisters, Ethel Kluge and Annie Chambers, and three brothers, Ralph, Malcolm, and William Davis.

Velma Richey
Velma Richey, 85, of Carrier Mills, died 6 p.m. Feb. 3, 2002, at the Harrisburg Care Center.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Alan Overstreet and the Rev. J.D. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Salem cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Carrier Mills to the late Harrison and Annie (Lewis) Brandon.
She was a member of the First Church of God in Carrier Mills.
She is survived by a sister, Evelyn Tolbert of Carrier Mills; a close friend, Ruth Asbell of Harrisburg; several nieces and nephews, including Peggy Overstreet and Mike Brandon, both of Carrier Mills, Barbara Rice of Swansea, and Betty Troutman of Mt. Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the V.N.A. Hospice and left at the funeral home.

Truman M. Rankin
Truman M. Rankin, 84, of Omaha, formerly of Springerton, died 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Bro. Joe Rockett officiating. Burial will be in Hammock cemetery near Springerton. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, three grandsons, four great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, a brother-in-law, a nephew, a great-nephew, a great-niece, a great-great-nephew, and a great-great-niece.

Marie S. Galliher
Marie S. Galliher, 93, died at her home 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2002, of congestive heart failure in Alton.
Born May 16, 1909, at Eddyville, she was the daughter of the late Rev. T.J. and Alpha (Whiteside) Isaac. She was a devoted wife for 75 years, a kind and loving mother, a devout Christian, and a generous friend.
Marie was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She served on the official board, the building committee, and was a trustee. Additionally, she was chairperson of various organizations and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 1018.
On July 12, 1927, she married Floyd E. Galliher in Metropolis. She is survived by her husband; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and George Kloves of San Francisco, Calif., and Alpha and Mike Smith of Peoria; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Glenda Galliher of Coral Springs, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Elbert Isaac of Emerald Isle, N.C.; and one sister, Brucilla Broyles of Jackson, Mich.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joan Marie; a son, retired Lt. Col. K. Don Galliher and his wife, Jean (Garland) Galliher; three brothers, Dilas, Garry and Raleigh Isaac; and three sisters, Eula Hazel Barger, Fay Stalions Webb, and Madge Eskew Carroll.
According to her wishes, her body will be donated to the Washington University School of Medicine's Memory and Aging Project for Alzheimer's Disease Research.
The date of the memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2002, at Main Street Methodist Church in Alton. Memorials can be donated to the Main Street United Methodist Church Trust or Building Funds or to the American Heart Association.

Charles A. Sutton
Charles A. Sutton passed away peacefully at his home in Bisbee, Ariz. on Thursday, May 23, 2002.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Lura Sutton; a sister, Mary Chase; and a brother, James Sutton. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Charlotte; devoted son, David; nieces, Marilee Fowler, Melinda Spence, and Lisa Schauwecker; and nephews, Jim (Teresa) Chase and Jim (Francis) Sutton; also seven great-nieces and great-nephews; and stepchildren Ken (Barbara) Herndon, Catherine (Larry) Weishaar, Susan Sipes; 15 stepgrandchildren; and four great-stepgrandchildren.
From his love of his three dogs to big band music to Civil War memorabilia, Charles had a keen interest in the world around him. He was a great cook, and often enjoyed preparing delicious meals for friends and family. He thoroughly enjoyed the great outdoors and especially loved birds of all varieties and picturesque scenery filled with beautiful flowers.
He loved anything associated with South America, including romantic music, unique art, Indian artifacts, and intricate jewelry. He enjoyed collecting memorabilia of various sorts, but one of his most noteworthy was his collection of Mickey Mouse pieces.
Charlie was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Harrisburg, where he lived until graduation from high school. As a young adult, he was employed with the FBI from 1947 to 1950, under the directorship of J. Edgar Hoover. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 as corporal at Fort Leonard Wood Base. He married Betty Tate in 1955 and they had one son, David. They were married for 27 years until her untimely death in 1982. He live in Mt. Carmel, Ind. from 1963 to 1995. Charlie was heavily involved in the Boy Scout organization for more than 20 years. He achieved Four Bead Wood Badge Scoutmaster.
He and his son, David, shared an avid interest in many scouting activities over the years.
Charlie married Charlotte, his wife of 18 years, in 1984. Retiring from Dupont Pharmaceuticals after 18 years of dedicated employment, he and Charlotte moved to Bisbee, Ariz, in 1995. They shared a love of the "Southwest lifestyle." Charlee became director of the Bisbee Senior Center, where he gladly devoted his time to the center's activities, and to the expansion project of the center's facilities. Charlie was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, and an active and devoted member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Other organizations he was a member of include the Elks and Masons.
Visitation and Rosary were held 7 p.m. May 26, 2002, at Saint Patrick Church, Higgins Hill, Bisbee, Ariz. Mass was offered 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2002, at the church. Graveside burial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Sunset Lawn cemetery in Harrisburg. Memorial donations may be made to the Bisbee Senior Center Expansion Fund, 300 Collins Road, Bisbee, Ariz. 85608.
All arrangements are being handled by Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.

John Galen Oxford
John Galen Oxford, 75, of Cave-in-Rock, died 6:14 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at Hardin County Hospital.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2002, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-in-Rock. Burial will be in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at the funeral home.

Betty E. York
Betty E. York, 72, of Eldorado, formerly of McLeansboro, died 10 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado, where she had been a patient since 1983.
Ms. York retired as a secretary for Lynn & Lynn Attorneys in the Old National Bank Building due to an illness. She graduated in 1948 as valedictorian from Mills Prairie High School and then went on to graduate from Lockyear Business College. Ms. York was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Eldorado.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal M. (Hetzel) York in 1976 and her father, Leslie L. York in 1992.
She is survived by a sister, Joan (Richard) Gooch of Evansville, Ind.; a brother, Ross (Joan) York of Evansville, Ind.; two nephews, Barton L. (Deana) Gooch of Evansville, Ind., and Michael K. (Andrea) York of Eddyville, Ky.; two great-nieces, Courtney Nicole York and Megan Kelley York, both of Eddyville, Ky.; two great-nephews, Dr. Erik Gooch of Gainesville, Fla., and Cody Gooch of Evansville, Ind.; three aunts, Gladys Kistler of DeSota, Mo., Jenny Heathman of Eldorado, and Stella Hetzel of Effingham; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. L.D. Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Old Springer cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at the funeral home.

Peter 'Pete' Toth
Peter "Pete" Toth, 80, of 1415 S. Webster St., Harrisburg, died 4 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 8 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2002, at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Don Cooper officiating. Cremation is to follow services. Visitation is 6 p.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Harco to the late Peter and Julia Toth.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of George Hart Post No. 167 American Legion and Harrisburg Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked 38 years at V.A. Medical Center in North Chicago as a medical aide.
He is survived by a sister, Margaret (J.R.) Tanner of Harrisburg; two cousins, Berta Palmer of Elmwood Park and Margaret Toth of Oak Park; and two nieces.
