Hobert J. Campbell Sr., 87, of Macedonia, died 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the Willow Care Center in Eldorado.
Services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Dale Burzynski officiating.
Burial was in Macedonia cemetery. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at the funeral home.
He was born May 12, 1915, in Franklin County to the late Alva Eddie and Verla Mason (Johnson) Campbell.
On June 12, 1937, he married
Mary Victoria Campbell, who preceded him in death on Sept. 4, 2002.
He was a farmer and attended Macedonia Methodist Church.
He was a member of Macedonia Masonic Lodge No. 1128 A.F. and A.M., past master and secretary and a member of the Macedonia Eastern Star No. 1028, past worthy patron.
He is survived by a son, Hobert (Helen) Campbell Jr. of Macedonia; a daughter, Mary Ann (Tom) Porter of Equality; two sisters, Iva Gene Arnold of Memphis, Tenn., and Geneva Nagreski of Benton; two grandchildren, Bonnie (Mike) Jones of Harrisburg and Tim (Marjorie) Porter of Eldorado; and five great-grandchildren, Miranda and Brent Jones of Harrisburg and Thomas, Drew and Gabe Porter of Eldorado.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Edward Keith Campbell; a grandson, Bryan Edward Campbell and a sister, Nadine Kearney.
Frederick Joseph Wargel
Frederick Joseph Wargel, 52, of 360 Dusty Road, Eldorado, died 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado with Fr. Don Abell officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
He was born April 12, 1950, in Eldorado to the late George and Johanna (Naas) Wargel.
He married
Johnsie (Walker) Wargel, who survives.
He was a construction worker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three brothers, James Wargel of Mt. Carmel and Don and Larry Wargel, both of Eldorado; five sisters, Lillian Miller and Shirley Wolf, both of Evansville, Ind., Emily Bridges of Henderson, Mary Rabe of Baker, Mont., and Linda Wargel of Eldorado.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Wargel and a sister, Virginia Hobbs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice and can be left at the funeral home.
Olivia McGuire
Olivia McGuire, 80, of Eldorado, died 11:21 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Abell officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Watson Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
She was born June 10, 1922, in Equality to Jacob and Catherine (Berkel) Wentzel. On Oct. 4, 1950, she married
Henry G. McGuire, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1977.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado.
She was the first woman in the state of Illinois to obtain a plumber's license.
She was a 1940 graduate of Eldorado High School.
She is survived by two sons, Carroll McGuire of Marion and Kenneth (Jane) McGuire of Eldorado; a daughter-in-law, Kathy McGuire of Springfield; a sister, Mary Nell Cox of Cave-in-Rock; a stepgranddaughter, Teri Craig of Anna; three stepgranddaughters; one great-stepgrandson and three grandchildren, Becky McGuire of Springfield, Tina McGuire and Robert (Chellie) McGuire, both of Eldorado.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Estella Abell of Ridgway and four brothers, Jake and Gilbert Wentzel, both of Eldorado, and Joe and John Wentzel, both of Harrisburg.
Jesse A. Hicks
Jesse A. Hicks, 80, of Mackney, Ind., died 2:42 p.m., Dec. 14, 2002, at Deaconess Hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St. in Evansville, Ind., with the Rev. Janice Y. Akers-DuBois officiating.
Burial will be at Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Graveside services will be held at noon at Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuedsay, Dec. 17, 2002, at Alexander West Chapel.
Jesse retired from Whirlpool.
He was a member of Tri-State Beagle Club.
He raised, trained, ran and judged beagles.
Jesse was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and parents.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nova (Gibson) Hicks of Mackey Ind.; a son Alfred G. (Kathy) Hicks of Tacoma Wash.; four grandchildren, Stephen, Bryan, Jessica and Daniel Hicks; a sister Dorthea L. Thornton of Eldorado; and nieces and nephews.

Dr. John E. Doyle
Dr. John E. Doyle, 93, of 5125 Ridgway-New Haven Road, Ridgway, died 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at his residence.
Arrangements are pending at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.
He is survived by a daughter and a son.

Vivian Lorene Carretti, 82, of rural Golconda, formerly of Eagle Creek, died 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare with the Rev. James Hubbard officiating.
Burial will be in Leamington cemetery.
Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at the funeral home.
She is survived by two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ricky Dean Taylor, 54, of rural route 3, McLeansboro, died 5:59 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Services were held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in McLeansboro with graveside military rites by American Legion Post No. 106. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at the funeral home.
He is survived by two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.
Tammy Ann Trusty-Tarrence
Tammy Ann Trusty-Tarrence, 42, of Dale, died 1:10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at her residence.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Andy May officiating.
Burial will be in Adkin cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born Dec. 4, 1959 in Eldorado to Carl and Lela (Massey) Trusty. She married
Alan Tarrence, who survives. She was disabled.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Devin Tarrence of Dale; two daughters, Tonya and Matia Tarrence, both of Dale; a brother, Charles Trusty of Algonquin and three sisters, Freda Smith of Carpentersville, Katherine Sinks of Benton and Barbara Irvin of South Elgin.
Max Edward Haring
Max Edward Haring, 89, of Baldwin City, Kan., formerly of Saline County, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the Baldwin Care Center.
He was cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.
He was the widower of the former Margaret Ann Davis.
He is survived by four daughters, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Hester May Lewis, 90, of Rosiclare, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare with the Rev. Roy Baker and the Rev. Glen Hicks officiating.
Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Visitation is 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at the funeral home.
She was the widow of B.A. Lewis. She is survived by two daughters, a son, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
