Clyde Bean Peoples
Mrs. Clyde Bean Peoples, 83, of Golconda and formerly of Cunningham, Ky., died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, 1998 in Hardin County Hospital in Rosiclare.
She was married
in 1934, to James A. Peoples. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. People was born on Dec. 16, 1914, in Blandville, Ky., to the late Harry M. and Williana (Johnson) Bean.
She attended the United Methodist Church in Golconda and was a member of the Corinth United Methodist Church in Cunningham, Ky.
Surviving are two daughters, Louise Burkhart of Golconda and Jeanne Fuggiti of Marion; a son, Steven Peoples, Lone Oak, Ky.; four brothers, Glen Bean of Bardwell, Ky., Thomas Bean of Sault St. Marie, Mich., Ben R. Bean of Washington, Ind., and Jack Bean of Paducah, Ky.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham cemetery in Cunningham, Ky. The Rev. Larry Schultz will officiate.
Friends may call at the Aly Funeral Home in Golconda from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Hazel Alexander
Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Alexander, 92, of Muncie, Ind., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Sunset Hill cemetery.
There will be no visitation at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Mrs. Alexander, widow of Carl Alexander, and former Harrisburg resident, died Wednesday at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Alexander of Muncie. She was also preceded in death by her son George Alexander in 1982.
The Rev. J. R. Berry
The Rev. J. R. Berry, 85, of 1209 Fourth St., Eldorado, died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998 at his home.
He was born on June 4, 1913, in Georgetown to the late William and Elizabeth (Gray) Berry.
He was a minister of the Church of God denomination, answering the call to the ministry at the age of 17. He pastored 57 years, but still remained active in different lay ministries until the past year when his health failed him.
His first wife of 49 years, the former Dorothy Evans, preceded him in death. He remarried
in 1994, to the former Wanda Martin. She survives.
Surviving from his first marriage are daughter, Lenora Baugus and her husband, the Rev. Randall Baugus, of Trenton, Ohio, and her daughter, Andra Watson and her husband, the Rev. Brett Watson, and their newborn son, Caleb Andrew Watson of Atlanta, Ga.; her son, James Leon and wife, Annette Baugus and their children, Nathaniel and Tiffany of Trenton; her son, Kevin Baugus at home; Rev. Berry's son, James Leon Berry and his wife, Teresa, and their children, Joseph, Jennifer, DeAnn and Ashley, all at home in Tonapah, Nev., and Leon's daughters Kimberly, Julie and Winter of St. Joseph, Mo.
Two step-daughters, Mary Newton of McLeansboro and Judy Moore of Eldorado, and their families also survive. Mary's family includes her husband Dewayne; her daughter, Terry Hartwell, her husband Bill, and their children Taylor, Christian and Audrey of St. Louis, Mo.; and her other daughter, Chris Naas, her husband Larry, and their children Caleb and Mercy of Galatia, and Shawna and her husband, Heath Rigsby and their children, Lex and Cammie Brown, of Eldorado.
Judy's family includes her daughters Shelly Moore of Eldorado, Robbie Spurlock of Harrisburg, and grandchildren Whitney and Hannah Spurlock of Eldorado.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at the Eldorado Church of God, where visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Randy Baugus and the Rev. Ron Hatcher will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery at Eldorado.
Camilla A. Fogle Mahin
Mrs. Camilla A. Fogle Mahin, 81, of 900 E. Corporation St., Bridgeport, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 1998, at the Lawrence Community Healthcare Center.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1917, in Cuzco, Ind., to the late John Bledsoe and Bertha Pinnick.
She was preceded her death by her first husband,
Floyd Fogle, and her second husband, Lloyd Mahin.
She retired as a nurses aid at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church of Brookport.
Surviving are two sons, Levi Fogle of Harrisburg and Charles Fogle of Pensacola, Fla.; a stepson, Fred Mahin of Lawrenceville; four sister, Mary Kasinger of St. Francisville, Doris Jones of Mount Carmel, Ruth Pemberton of Albion and Alma Pinnick of Bridgeport; two brothers, John Bledsoe of St. Francisville and Jim Bledsoe of Mount Carmel; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and a grandson.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Jesse Tewell will officiate and burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park cemetery.
Doreen Theresa Whitler
Mrs. Doreen Theresa Whitler, 57, wife of Jerry Whitler, died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 1999 at her home at 705 Dewey St., Eldorado.
She and her husband owned and operated the Cottage Flower Shop in Eldorado for 25 years. They were married
on Feb. 25, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1941, in Bismark, N.D. to Lester G. and Pauline (Wilmers) Schonert of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Mrs. Whitler attended the Eldorado First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the F.T.D. District 5 H, American Legion Auxiliary and the Saline County Ladies Golf Association.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mike Craig and Jan and Greg Thaxton, of Eldorado; a brother, Kenneth G. and wife, Doris Schonert of Saugas, Calif.; three grandchildren, Lynsey Jo Theresa Thaxton and Jayse Thaxton and Aaron Craig; her mother-in-law, Delsie Whitler of Eldorado; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Fr. Don Abell and the Rev. Brad Brault will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Hazel Wilson
Mrs. Hazel Wilson, formerly of Eldorado, died on Jan. 31, 1999 in Vancouver, Wash.
She married
Harold Wilson in 1926. He taught agriculture in Eldorado High School from 1937 to 1944. They eventually settled in Danville, Ind., where they lived until her husband died. Mrs. Wilson was born on Nov. 10, 1901, in Urbana, to James and Anna Everman.
In 1993, she moved to Vancouver to live with her son. She has always enjoyed reading, playing the piano and her church activities. She had a wonderful sense of humor to go along with her beautiful Christian spirit.
She is survived by three sons, Maury Wilson of Vancouver, Wa., Jim Wilson of Missoula, Mont. and Lanny Wilson of West Lafayette, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999 at Baker Funeral Home in Danville.
Russell Warren
Russell Warren, 72, formerly of Rosiclare, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999 at his home in Ava. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. David (Regina) Cowsert of Golconda and Mrs. Mike (Sharon) Robinson of Elizabethtown; five sons and daughters-in-law, James R. and Dora Warren of Rosiclare, Ronnie and Geneva Warren of Golconda, Larry and Elizabeth Warren of Elizabethtown, Gary and Rita Warren of Cave-in-Rock and Ricky and Anna Warren of Golconda; a sister, Berry Erb of Marissa; four brothers and three sisters-in-law J.T. and Marianne Warren of Boston, Mass., Ralph Warren of Cave-in-Rock, Alfred and Jan Warren of Harrisonville, Mo., and Jerry and Lois Warren of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Grace (Carman) Warren.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare. There will be no service.
Mildred L. Neidige
Mrs. Mildred L. Neidige, 78, of 302 NW 11th St., Washington, Ind. died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999 at her home.
She married
Charles J. Neidige in September, 1952. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1996. She was born on May 11, 1920, in Shelbyville, Ind. to the late Clarence and Laura Joyce.
Surviving are a daughter, Judy Russell of Sanford, Fla.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Figg of Carrier Mills and Jack Ashcraft of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister, Irene Neidige of Washington, Ind. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary in Washington, Ind., where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and before the funeral hour on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Johns cemetery
Guy King Patterson
Guy King Patterson, 76, of 250 S. Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 at the Manor Care Center of Boca Raton.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1922, in Harrisburg to the late Guy Thomas and Olive (King) Patterson. He was senior vice-president of Cigna Insurance.
On May 5, 1944, he married
the former Dorothy W. Wheatly. She survives along with a daughter, Mrs. Clark (Joan) Moore of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Lawn cemetery at Harrisburg. Dr. Roger Lyons will officiate.
Visitation after 11 a.m. Thursday until service time at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
