Maxine Hunsinger Sullivan
Maxine Hunsinger Sullivan, 76, of Chicago, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 26, 1922, in Harrisburg, to the late Frank and Lois (Bush) Hunsinger.
Visitation is 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Donnellan Funeral Home of Chicago, 10525 S. Western Ave. Service is Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Donnellan Funeral Home. Graveside service is 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Burnt Prairie cemetery in Burnt Prairie.
She was employed as registrar at the University of Chicago for 35 years.
She is survived by a son Martin (Heidi) Sullivan; a daughter Sue Penciak; a brother Jack (Marilyn) Hunsinger; eight grandchildren Sheri Messino, Pamela (Casey) Roberts, Steve (Moira) Penciak, Joshua (Susan) Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Benjamin Sullivan, Zachary Roberts, Elizabeth Sullivan; six great-grandchildren Anthony, Aaron, Brandi, Rita, Samantha, and Casey James.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Lea Roberts and a brother Charles Hunsinger. The family suggests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ronald Dean Miller
Ronald Dean Miller, 59, of 160 Dewey Rd, Apt. 216, Eldorado, died Nov. 16, 2000.
He was born August 12, 1941, in North Wood, Iowa, to Frankie C. and Florence (Pearson) Miller. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at Wolf Creek cemetery.
Mr. Miller was a retired millsman and cabinet maker. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam in Germany as a paratrooper with the LURPS and also as a sergeant.
Arrangements are being handled by Watson Funeral Home of Eldorado.
Dr. Stephen W. Miller
Dr. Stephen W. Miller, 48, of McLeansboro, died 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at his home.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro.
Service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Clement's Catholic Church of McLeansboro. Burial is in St. John's Catholic cemetery in Piopolis.
Helen Lightner
Helen Lightner, 83, of 303 W. Sloan, Harrisburg, died 3:25 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born in Saline County Nov. 29, 1916, to the late Joe and Josie (Johnson) Ingram. She married
Cassius "Cass" Lightner in September 1936. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 1996.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Reed Funeral Chapel of Harrisburg. Service is 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Sunset Lawn cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Vola Sittig will officiate.
Mrs. Lightner was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church of Harrisburg. She was a retired retail sales clerk.
She is survived by two sons, Jack Lightner of Harrisburg, Joe Lightner of Harrisburg; a sister, Elizabeth Dauer of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Kim and Cody Lightner of Harrisburg; and one great-grandchild, Tyler Lightner.
Helen May Moser
Helen May Moser, 81, of McLeansboro, died 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Harre Funeral Home of McLeansboro. Service is 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Harre Funeral Home. The Rev. Art Foster will officiate. Burial is in Hopewell cemetery near McLeansboro.
Garcia G. Ralph
Garcia G. Ralph, 81, of rural Elizabethtown died 5:25 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Elizabethtown to the late Elmer Ralph Sr. and Elizabeth (Frailey) Ralph.
He married
Geneva Ralph of Elizabethtown. She survives.
He was an Army veteran who served in World War II and a retired miner. He was a Mason and was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Charles Oxford of Plantation, Fla., and Douglas Oxford and wife, Rose Marie of Clermont, Fla.; a daughter, Carolyn McDonald and husband, Terry of Newburgh, Ind., a brother, Elmer Ralph Jr. of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Catherine Lievers of Pueblo, Colo., and Pauline McEwin of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Beatrice King, Alberta Holbrook and Frances Walker; and a brother, Alfred Ralph.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Hosick Funeral Chapel in Rosiclare with the Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. and Gary Hardesty officiating. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at the funeral home with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Empire cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Thomas Lee Bates
Thomas Lee Bates, 65, of Evansville, Ind., formerly of New Haven, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at his home from apparent heart failure.
He was born March 19, 1935, in New fHaven to the late Thomas W. and Hazel L. (Givens) Bates.
He was a retired truck driver and had worked at Salvation Army stores in Evansville. He was a Veteran serving in the Air Force. He is survived by five aunts, Shirley Carney of New Haven, Flora Sanders of Norris City, Reba Browning of Eldorado, Evelyn Wathen of Carmi, Beulah Bates of New Haven; and one uncle, Edmond Givens of New Haven.
Graveside services are11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at Union Ridge cemetery in New Haven with the Rev. Ed Givens officiating.. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. There is no visitation.

Bryce Owens
Bryce Owens, 63, of Chatham, died 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, after an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 17, 1936 in Raymond, to the late Russell and Reika (Sprecht) Owens. He married
the former Joyce Brooks, formerly of Gallatin County.
Mr. Owens worked at Fiat Allis for 28 years. He served in the U.S. Army and the Illinois National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Brooks) Owens of Chatham; three sons, Russell J. Owens of Springfield, Randy B. Owens and wife, Dawn of Chatham and Chris T. Owens of Chatham; two brothers, Donald Owens of Decatur and Ross Owens of Rochester; one sister, Bertie Siebert of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Samantha Smith, Joey Owens and Jessica Owens.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at Leamington cemetery in Leamington, with the Rev. Jonah Reynolds officiating. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Ridgway Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. There is no visitation. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.

Mary E. Knott, 92, 918 Third St., Eldorado, died 12:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Eldorado Care Center.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. today, Aug. 9, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home. Burial is in Wolf Creek cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Eldorado and left at the funeral home.
Vennie Koch
Vennie Koch, 82, of 824 W. Sloan St., Harrisburg, died 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at her residence.
She was born May 29, 1918, in Eldorado to the late William Edward and Eliza Pearl (Floyd) Morris. She married
Eloine Koch March 3, 1934. He survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Fonda Stout of Rantoul; a son Richard "Ricky" E. Koch of Auburn Hills, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, the Rev. Bob Stout; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Harold Williams officiating.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Lawn cemetery in Harrisburg.
