June Hardin
Mrs. June Hardin, 77, of Elizabethtown, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her home.
She retired as a nurse from Hardin County General Hospital and a member of the Elizabethtown First United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Nell Frailey of Elizabethtown and Ruth Hansel of Gerard; and a brother, John Ledbetter of Harrisburg. Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Callie (Heatherington) Ledbetter; her husband, Bennett Hardin; two brothers, Ken Ledbetter and Hurbert Ledbetter; and two sisters, Virginia Fricker and Dorothy Mott.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at White's Chapel cemetery in Tolu, Ky., with the Rev. Phil Willison officiating.
There will be no visitation at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.
Donald E. Dowdy
Donald E. Dowdy, 65, of 902 W. Parish St., Harrisburg, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center. He was born Aug. 18, 1934, in Harrisburg, to the late Henry and Madie (Pyles) Dowdy.
He retired from the military and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion George Hart Post.
Mr. Dowdy attended New Castle Baptist Church.
On June 1, 1957, he married
the former Barbara Morris. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steve Ramsey and Mike Ramsey, both of Glendale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Winter and Ehren Ramsey and Tabatha and Tyler Harris.; a sister, Betty Wilson and friend, Walter Odum; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leroy and Phyllis Dowdy, Kenneth and Ruby Dowdy, and Billy and Gennie Dowdy, all of Harrisburg; aunt and uncle, George and Chloe Pyles; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will precede burial at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Sunset Garden cemetery in Harrisburg with full military services by the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills American Legions. The Rev. James Williams will officiate.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday until service time at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mary Frances Dammers
Services for Mrs. Mary Frances Dammers, 70, of Southfield, Mich., former resident of Harrisburg, who died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at her home, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg. The Rev. Roger Lyons will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn cemetery.
Visitations will be after 11 a.m. Friday until service time.
Memorials may be made to the Leader Dogs for the Blind or the American Diabetes Association of Michigan.
Opal (Waltz) Castner
Services for Mrs. Opal (Waltz) Castner, 81, of Carrier Mills Nursing Home, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. John Hancock will officiate and burial will be in Ledford cemetery in Harrisburg.
Beulah Ann Barrett
Beulah Ann Barrett, 92, of 31 South McKinley St., Harrisburg, died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Harrisburg Care Center.
She was born Jan. 26, 1907, in Harrisburg, to the late Aud and Florence (Ramsey) Barrett.
Miss Barrett was a bookkeeper and a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Elmer Barrett; a niece, Janet (Barrett) Tisdale; a nephew, John Barrett, all of Odessa, Texas; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg, where friends may call after 9 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Harold Williams will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Lawn cemetery at Harrisburg.
Asa Ray Frailey
Asa Ray Frailey, 71, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Cave-in-Rock, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999 in Indianapolis.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Frailey, a daughter, Alta Esther Jackson; two sons, Rickey Ray Frailey and Glendon Douglas Frailey; three step-daughters, Wanda Small, Karen Edwards and Dana Henson; three step-sons, Don, Mike and Jeff Smith; a sister, Martha Jeralds; his step-mother, Eva Frailey of Cave-in-Rock; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Speedway Church of the Nazarene and American Legion, Wayne Post #64. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 1999 at the Conkle Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Ind.
A military graveside service will be held Sunday, July 18, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Potter's Church cemetery in Cave-in-Rock. The Rev. Deon Dutton will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.
Dena (Keelin) Lawrence
Dena (Keelin) Lawrence, 64, of Hillsboro, died at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at her residence.
She was born April 12, 1935 in rural Rileyville to the late Bert Ray and Ora (Smith) Keelin.
She married
John Lawrence of Hillsboro on July 25, 1953. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Karen Lawrence of Coffeen; a daughter and son-in-law, Rene and Roger Shipman of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Robbie, Ryan and Randy Shipman and Jennifer, Daniel, Julie and Ashley Lawrence; a brother, Bert and wife, Ruth Keelin of Benton; two sisters, Mrs. Bob (Velma) Hall of Florrisant and Mrs. Bob (Vurble) Mahoney of Owensboro, Ky.; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Gaddis of Knowville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Verna Gaddis in 1996 of Knoxville, Tenn.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro, where friends may call at 10 a.m.
The Rev. Dr. Ronald Rhodus will officiate and burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery in Hillsboro.

Rosie Mae Tavender
Mrs. Rosie Mae Tavender, 64, of 115 W. Walnut St., Harrisburg, died at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 15, 1935, in Paris, to the late Roscoe and Ruth Lee (Westmoreland) Furlong.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Ann Dunston of Harrisburg and Peggy Yingling of California; two granddaughters, Jaime Banks of Harrisburg and Diana Czimecka of California; two grandsons, Weldon Dunston of Harrisburg and Daniel Yingling of California; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Banks, Luke Czimecka and Jacob Czimecka; a sister, Betty Griffith of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Ruth Furlong.
Graveside services will precede burial in Cain cemetery in Harrisburg at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. David Angelly will officiate. Friends may call after 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Gladys C. Field
Mrs. Gladys C. Field, 75, of Milton, Wisc., formerly of Rosiclare, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999 in the Waukehsa Memorial Hospital in Waukehsa, Wis.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Whitcomb Funeral Home in Janesville, Wisc. Burial will be in Wisconsin.

Robby Laird, 84, of Elizabethtown, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at his home. Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare is in charge of the arrangements.
Lillie Mae Duke Services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Duke, 66, wife of G.C. Duke of Harrisburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1999 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Debra Moss Wilkins
Mrs. Debra Moss Wilkins, 37, of 322 McIlrath St., Harrisburg, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at her home. Debra had a long illness with cancer.
She was born in Harrisburg, on Feb. 6, 1961, to the late Walter T. Moss Sr. and Henrietta (Motley) Moss, who survives. She was married
to Don J. Wilkins, who also survives.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of The Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Carrier Mills.
Wilkins was an employee of Southeastern Residential Alternative, Inc. (The Lane House) in Harrisburg. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by three daughters, Amanda Wilkins, LaDawn Wilkins and Tabitha Wilkins, all of Harrisburg; her grandmother, Stella Motley, of Harrisburg; six brothers, Cecil Turner of Springfield, Lowell Moss of Maywood, Winfred Moss and William Moss of Ina, Randy Moss of Harrisburg and Raymond Moss of Galesburg; five sisters, Charlotte Taborn, Miriam Clingman, Nona Rice and Beverly Sanders, all of Harrisburg, and Elizabeth Jones of Apple Valley, Minn.; a grandchild, Kyleigh Peacock of Harrisburg; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter T. Moss Jr.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 1999 at Reed Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carl Shelton officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
Burial will be in Sunset Lawn cemetery.
