Bonnie R. Garrett
Mrs. Bonnie R. Garrett, 57, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Eldorado, died at the Regency Place Health Care in Greenwood, Ind. on Friday, Sept. 18, 1998.
She married
the Rev. Jesse R. Garrett on June 28, 1964 in Eldorado. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Eric R. Garrett of Brazil, Ind.; a daughter, Aimee R. Woodruff of Greenvood, Ind.; a sister, Zelda Fike of Egg Harbor, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Garrett was born on Dec. 28, 1940, in Eldorado, to the late Roy and Syble (Yahne) Passmore.
She was a member of Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church and a 1958 graduate of Eldorado High School.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Gospel Assembly Church. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Greenwood Chapel in Greenwood.
J. C. Nelson
J. C. Nelson, 71, of 621 W. Charleston St., Harrisburg, died at 3:18 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was a retired mechanic and a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Nelson was born in Eddyville, Ky. on Jan. 30, 1927, to the late Alfred and Melissa Breshears Nelson.
On Dec. 31, 1954, he married
the former Thelma Hayes. She survives along with a son, Steven Nelson, and a daughter, Cheryl Nelson, both of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Nelson.
Graveside services preceded burial at 1 p.m. Monday at Lindale cemetery at Eldorado. The Rev. G.E. Coultas officiated.
There was no visitation at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
John G. Aslinger
John G. Aslinger, 67, of 860 Barton Trail Road, Eldorado, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996 at his home.
He was born in Corbin, Ky. on March 6, 1929, to the late John G. Sr. and Hannah Lawson Aslinger.
He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Co. and former co-owner of Star Welding and Machine Shop in Shawneetown. He was also an Army veteran and a Baptist by faith.
On Nov. 16, 1952, in Pineville, Ky., he married
the former Barbara Fagen. She survives along with a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and William Lively of Eldorado; a son, Steve Aslinger of Carmi; a sister, Jessie Jones of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Nathan Aslinger, Michael Aslinger, Christy Wilson, Jason Lively and Jessica Lively; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Douglas Wilson; and a brother, Jack Aslinger.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Russell Helton will officiate and burial will be in Lindale cemetery at Eldorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Eldorado or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Janine Vatrican Hill
Mrs. Janine Vatrican Hill of Harrisburg died Sunday, December 8, 1996 at the home of her sister, Josephine Vatrican in the Principality of Monaco. Mrs. Hill had suffered a lengthy illness with her health deteriorating in the past year.
Mrs. Hill was a native of Monaco but came to the United States as a young bride just after World War II.
She was a former teacher at Harrisburg High School and at the Southeastern Illinois College. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Harrisburg, the Sorority, and the Women's Sunday school class at the First Baptist Church.
In this city she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Josette Blackman, and son-in-law, Gregory Blackman, and three granddaughters, Trishalana, Christen and Stephanie Blackman.
In Monaco, she leaves a sister, Josephine (Josette) Vitrican; her son, John Kenneth Hill and daughter-in-law, Editha; three grandchildren, John Edward, Edmund Jason and Emma Jane Hill.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 12 in The Church of Sacre-coeur of Monaco. Interment will be in Monaco.

Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Edwards
Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Edwards, 50, of Ridgway, died at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 1996 at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago.
She was born on May 16, 1946 in Lake Placid, Fla. to the late Barney and Eunice Dambrell.
She was a secretary for the American Soil Conservation Service office in Ridgway and a member of Union Ridge Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one son, Craig and wife, Amy Edwards of Mount Carmel; one daughter, Ann Edwards of Murray, Ky.; and one brother, Ray Dambrell of Lake Placid, Fla.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Creighton Hampton will officiate. Burial will be in Union Ridge at Norris City.
Brian King
Brian King, 36, of Raleigh Road, Eldorado, died at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind. following an auto accident.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah King; his parents, Richard and Jackie King of Florida; and a brother, Gregory King of Eldorado.

Mark Wilson
Mark Wilson, 35, of 438 North Thompson St., Carrier Mills, died at 10:22 a.m. Wednesday in Marion Memorial Hospital. Death was due to an accident about two miles south of Creal Springs in Williamson County at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996.
He was born on April 4, 1961, in Gary, Ind. to Dan Wilson and the late Grace Mandrell Wilson.
He was a carpenter and construction worker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lisa Wilson, and they were married
on June 4, 1994. Other survivors are his father, Dan Wilson of Carrier Mills; a son, Mark Wilson Jr. of Carrier Mills; four stepchildren, Kenny Wangler, Chasity Wangler, Steven Williford and Tiffany Williford, all of Creal Springs; five brothers, Daniel, Jerry, Keith, Richard and Greg Wilson; two sisters, Tami Grochowski and Teri Carson; a stepsister, Barb Andersen; stepbrother, Steve Subartowicz; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Wilson and three nephews.
Services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, where friends may call after 6 p.m. until service time. The Rev. Paul Noe will officiate.
Graveside services will precede burial at 9 a.m. Sunday at Douglas cemetery near Broughton. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery.
Carolyn Henson Burk
Mrs. Carolyn Henson Burk, 53, wife of Paul Burk, of Omaha, Nebr. died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996 at 4:30 p.m. at her home.
She was the daughter of the late John and Carman Henson.
Mrs. Burk received a B.A. in Pre-Law with honors from Avila College in 1980. She was last employed with Abraham, Kaslow and Cassman Law Firm in Omaha.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Justin Burk of Lawrence, Kan.; four daughters, and two sons-in-law, Kathy and Ken Biggs of Fresno, Calif., Connie Burk of Lawrence, Karen and Rob Caffey of Manhattan, Kan., and Janette Burk of Lawrence; and four grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Roy Henson of Rt. 1, Elizabethtown; and five sisters and five brothers-in-law, Joan and Bob Frailey of Earp, Calif., Norma Lee and Frank Marina, and Phyllis and (Buddy) Patton, all of Las Vegas, Nev., Janice and John Miller of Lake Almanor, Calif. and Marta and Steve Kelsay of Fresno.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 at Dixon-Volkert cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hosick Funeral Home in Rosiclare.

Sherman Woolever, 77, of Rural Route, Omaha, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996 in Ferrell Hospital at Eldorado.
