Mae Crayne Holland
Mae Crayne Holland, 89, of 70 Academy St., Eldorado, died 9:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at her residence.
She was born March 28, 1911, in Cottonwood to the late Marsh Hall and Ora Ramsey. She married
Edgar Crayne Dec. 1, 1929, and he preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1974. She married
the Rev. Charles E. Holland Oct. 3, 1993 and he preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1998.
Visitation was 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Vickery Funeral Chapel of Ridgway. Service was 11 a.m. today, Oct. 23, 2000, at Vickery Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Jack Hall will officiate. Burial is at Westwood cemetery in Shawneetown.
Mrs. Holland was a homemaker and worked at Shawnee Cabinets for twenty years. She was a member of Scott Street Missionary Baptist Church of Eldorado.
She is survived by a son Jim (Francis) Crayne of Union City, Tenn.; three daughters Verla (John) Butler of Alta Monte Springs, Fla., Margaret (Donald) Hayes of Herrin, Shirley (Ervin) Lowe of Eldorado; a sister Opal Murphy of Eldorado; thirteen grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Eddie Lee Crayne, a daughter Betty Frields, a grandson Greg Frields, and four brothers.
Benjamin Franklin Trusty
Benjamin Franklin Trusty, 85, of 503 E. 5th St., West Frankfort, and formerly of Omaha, died 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 12, 1915, to William Timothy Trusty and Eula Ethel Williams.
Arrangements are pending at Vickery Funeral Chapel of Omaha.
Vonnie Jerrell
Vonnie Jerrell, 94, of 30 W. Park St., Harrisburg, died 6:53 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 24, 1905, in Alford, Ind., to the late Henry and Lucy (Sherman) McClellan. She married
Mont R. Jerrell and he preceded her in death July, 19, 1968.
Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 23, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home of Harrisbug. Service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Gaskins Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Doane will officiate. Burial is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Walnut Hill cemetery in Petersburg, Ind. The Rev. Alan Rhine will officiate at graveside.
Mrs. Jerrell was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Oakland City, Ind.
She is survived by a daughter Jeanne (K.T.) Nelson of Harrisburg; three grandchildren Bryce Kristian (Pritchette) Jerrell of Eldorado, Jed Karl Nelson of Harrisburg, Kathryn Jerrell Nelson of Harrisburg; a brother Earl McClellan of Petersburg, Ind.; a sister Opal Fulcher of Vincennes, Ind.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son A. Ray Jerrell in 1979, and a sister Muriel Early. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Harrisburg District Library or the First United Methodist Church for the Beulah Camp Cabin.
Maybelle Sisk
Maybelle Sisk, 83, of Equality died 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Fountain View Nursing Home of Eldorado.
She was born July 10, 1917, in Kentucky to Herbert Eugene and Mollie (Carr) Wilson. She married
Lloyd Tucker April 14, 1934, and he preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1942. She married
William C. Sisk Feb. 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death June 6, 1965.
Visitation is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 23, 2000, at Earl Jones Funeral Home of Equality. Service 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Earl Jones Funeral Home. Burial is at Rosal Chapel cemetery of Pryorsburg, Ky. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a son John Sisk of Equality; a son Frank (Denise) Sisk of Eldorado; a son David Sisk of Corpus Christi, Texas; a step-son Bob (Joan) Sisk; a step-daughter Lois (Bob) Elder; a brother Ralph Wilson of Detroit, Mich.; a sister Ruby Davis of Belleville; several grandchildren including Angela (Brandon) Dickey, Nick Sisk, Rebecca Sisk, Kristin Sisk, Melissa Parker, Melanie Sisk, Ryan Sisk, Kyle Sisk; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Dickey, Joshua Sisk; several nieces and nephews including a special niece Beverly (Gary) Emery of Equality.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Lynn Tucker, a brother Gordon Wilson, a brother Raymond Wilson, a brother J. D. Wilson, and a sister Ethel B. Holifield.
Doy A. Hooten
Doy A. Hooten, 78, of Wheeler died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000.
A long time Hobart resident, he was born March 14, 1922, in Rosiclare to the late William and Lizzie Hooten.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at the Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at Rees Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gerald T. Walworth will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Mr. Hooten was a retired Iron Worker working out of the International Brotherhood of Iron Workers Local Union No. 395 in Hammond.
He is survived by a son Randy (Pat) Hooten of La Grange, Ga.; three brothers Lawrence "Sammy" (Natoma) Hooten of Hammond, Randall (Lavada) Hooten of Bourbonnais, Clarence (Geneva) Hooten of Effingham; two sisters Ruby Hancock of Valparaiso, Nina Mick of Carbondale; and a great-grandson Bobby Joe Hooten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Wendy K. Knee, a grandson Bobby Joe Hooten, a sister Norma Cox, and two brothers Floyd Hooten and James L. Hooten.
William L. Riley
William L. Riley, 60, of 516 Pine St., Eldorado, died 12:23 p.m. Oct. 21, 2000, at Ferrell Hospital of Eldorado.
He was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Mayfield, Ky. to Chester and Jewel (Mills) Riley. He married
Beatrice Howorko May 9, 1963. She survives.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Watson Funeral Home of Eldorado. Family visitation begins at 4 p.m. Service is 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Watson Funeral Home of Eldorado. The Rev. DeWayne Jolly will officiate. Burial is at Wolf Creek cemetery.
Mr. Riley was an upholsterer and a member of Eldorado Gospel Assembly.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son John Riley of Eldorado; a daughter Anna (Mike) Bean of Eldorado; a brother Jim (Cynthia) Riley of Mayfield, Ky.; a sister Carol Riley of Eldorado; a sister Judy (Toby) Cunningham of Eldorado; a sister-in-law Tina Riley of Eldorado; several nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren Sheila and Michael Bean.
He was preceded in death by a son Steven Riley March 27, 2000, and three brothers Colen, Kenneth, and Donnie Givens.
Owen Henry Miller
Owen Henry Miller, 74, of rural Golconda died 11:52 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare. The Rev. Harold Miller and the Rev. Marla Lane are officiating. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, a member of the Shriners and a member of the Honeycomb Church of God in Karbers Ridge.
He is survived by three sons, Harold Miller of Rosiclare, Gerald Miller of Rosiclare and Phillip Miller of Golconda; two daughters, Turla Mae Rorer of Elizabethtown and Kimberly Ann Davis of Alabama; a stepdaughter, Kathy Hamp; four stepsons, Kenneth, David, Paul and Timothy Davis; seven brothers, Noah, James, Ernest, Alfred, Melvin, Russell and Gale Miller; three sisters, Alma Matthews, Rita Townsend and Dorthy Brotherton; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ester W. Miller; his mother, Ollie (Reed) Miller; his first wife, Icey Marion Marie (Burton) Miller; and his second wife, Dolorce Davis (Lemon) Miller.
Sandra Lynn (Flynn) Culp
Sandra Lynn (Flynn) Culp, 42, of Eldorado, died 12:25 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 22, 1957, in Harrisburg, to Larry Flynn of Golconda and Nina Woods Patton of Eldorado. Both her parents survive.
She was married
to Ronald Joe Culp.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Eldorado.
She is survived by four brothers, Dennis Davis of Florida, Dale Patton of Elizabethtown, Glen Patton of McLeansboro and Charles Flynn of Golconda; a sister, Molly Donley of Mohamet, ; a stepsister, Lisa Burns of Golconda; and a grandmother, Lucille McLain. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. David Gilley officiating.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery in Equality.
Dolores L. Rochford
Dolores L. Rochford, 72, of Herod died 1:45 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born to the late Catherine (Green) and Thomas O'Dowd.
She married
Bernard Rochford in 1947.
Mrs. Rochford was a retired postal worker. She was Catholic by faith.
She adopted the license plate LAWMOM for her car, an indication of her pride in all six of her children entering law-related careers, following the footsteps of her husband who served more than 30 years as a Chicago police officer.
She is survived by her husband, Bernard Rochford of Herod; three sons, Michael T. Rochford of Clifton, Va., Terrence G. Rochford of Harrisburg, Timothy J. Rochford of Vienna; three daughters, Patricia E. Rochford of Harrisburg, Deborah A. Wallace of Harrisburg, Eileen Rochford of Herod; one brother, Edward O'Dowd of Chicago; 14 grandchildren, Jason Bianco, Michael Webb, Amy Rochford, Rachael Bond, David Bianco, Timothy Webb, Jason Webb, Marcus Webb, Erin Rochford, Meghan Rochford, Danielle Wallace, Laura Rochford, Mical Rochford and Nicholas Rochford; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Cooper, James Tyler Bond and Alic Bianco; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Catherine (Greene) O'Dowd; and one sister, June Quinlan.
Funeral services are 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Trapp officiating. Visitation is from 5 to 9 p.m. today, July 24 at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare, with rosary service at 7 p.m. Burial is in Rochford Family cemetery in Herod.
