Mrs. Mary Oma Winders, 83, of Golconda, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Ulys Winders.
Funeral family information and arrangements are pending at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda.
Martha Patterson
Services for Mrs. Martha Patterson, 94, of Galatia, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, where friends may call after 10 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Sunny Wenning will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon cemetery near Galatia.
Mrs. Patterson, wife of William A. Patterson, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday in Ferrell Hospital at Eldorado.
Irene Shirley
Irene Shirley, 82, of Taborn Rd., Carrier Mills, died at 6:35 a.m. Monday, May 17, 1999 in Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born on Aug. 11, 1916, in Carrier Mills to the late D.G. and Elnora (Davis) Harris. On Jan. 2, 1942, she married
Richard E. Shirley. He preceded her in death in 1973.
Mrs. Shirley was a member of the Langley Avenue Church of God in Chicago.
Survivors include a sister, Mabel Kilgore, Carrier Mills; and several nieces and nephews including Cheryl Johnson of Hazelcrest, Robert Harris, Pam Harris and Jeanne Harris, all of Markham and Laura Harris of Chicago and Aundria Lee Pluck of Texas.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ailene Harris and Perline Lyles and three brothers, Jerome Harris, Roderick Harris and Isaiah R. Harris.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, where friends may call after 11:30 a.m. until service time Friday. The Rev. Donnie Duncan will officiate and burial will be in Lakeview cemetery.
Inman Hargrove
Inman Hargrove, 83, of Broughton died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Harrisburg Medical Center. He was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Big Rock, Tenn. to the late Henry Jackson and Clara Estes (Bierly) Hargrove. He married
Bonnie A. Whitmire. She survives.
Mr. Hargrove was a retired waterflood plant operator for Texas Oil Co.
He was a member of the Broughton Masonic Lodge No. 963 and a Protestant by faith.
Mr. Hargrove is survived by one son, James Ernest and his wife, Sandi Hargrove of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Bonnie Louise and husband, Wilburn Goss of Eldorado, Marjorie Ann, and husband, Jeff Ensley of Harrisburg and Mildred June and husband, Curtis Willis of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grand-children, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation for Mr. Hargrove is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Masonic services by the Broughton Masonic Lodge are at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Douglas cemetery near Broughton.
Pauline Belt
Mrs. Pauline Belt, 72, of Rosiclare, died at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Edna Ruth) McConnell of Rosiclare, Mrs. Tim (Connie Jo) Whittger of Paducah, Ky.; a son, Jonithan R. and wife, Carolyn Belt of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, John Sisco of rural Elizabethtown and Jack Sisco of Michigan; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. (Dick) Belt, her parents, Lacy and Laura (Hughes) Sisco, a sister, Hazel Boyd, brothers, Paul, Earl and Walter Sisco. Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at Peters Creek cemetery near Elizabethtown. The Rev. Jack Oglesby officiated. Hosick Funeral Home of Rosiclare was in charge of the arrangements.
Myrean (Bebout) Winders
Mrs. Myrean (Bebout) Winders, 73, of Portland, Ore., died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999. She was born April 12, 1926, to the late Marion and Floya Bebout.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Winders.
Surviving are three children, Dan Winders, Chuck Winders, and Joyce Goggin, all of Oregon; four sisters, Evalene Gulley of Harrisburg, Bonnie Galloro of Huntington Beach, Calif., Imogene Phelps and Connie Ingle of Simpson; and three brothers, Clifford, Clyde and Leonard Bebout, all of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Knakmuhs and three brothers, Clarence, Lacey and Lindal Bebout. Funeral and burial will be in Portland.
Karen Elaine Potts
Services for Karen Elaine Potts, 42, of Route 2, Eldorado, in the Texas City area, are at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The Rev. Alfred Lott of Evansville, Ind. will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Mrs. Potts died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999, in the emergency room of Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, the result of an automobile accident on U.S. 45, north of Eldorado.
Donations may be made to a trust fund for her sons and may be left at the funeral home or Banterra Bank at Eldorado.
Richard Dunk Sr.
Services for Richard Dunk Sr., 70, of Junction, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown. The Rev. Mark Stec will officiate and burial will be in the Immaculate Conception cemetery at Shawneetown.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999 at Vickery Funeral Home in Shawneetown, where a prayer service is at 7 p.m.
Mr. Dunk died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 1999 at the home of a son, Richard Dunk in Junction.
Paul Langley
Paul Langley, 82, of Eldorado, died at 10:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Ferrell Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Langley; two daughters, Anita Langley of Sedalia, Colo. and Florence Brown of New Jersey.
The body has been cremated. Services will be held in Colorado. There will be no visitation at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado.
Virginia (Ferrell) Lewis
Mrs. Virginia (Ferrell) Lewis, 76, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of Eldorado, died Monday night, Dec. 27, 1999, in Canton, following an extended illness.
She was born in Eldorado but had lived in Canton since 1967. Her parents were the late Dr. and Mrs. John V. Ferrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Lewis Jr.
Surviving are a son, Steven Ferrell Lewis of Aurora; a daughter, M.J. (Mary Jane) Welsheimer and a grandson, Andrew Welsheimer of Durham, N.C.
As to her wishes Mrs. Lewis was cremated. Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 at Lindale cemetery at Eldorado. Friends attending should go directly to the cemetery. The Rev. Walter Baker will officiate. Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado is in charge of the local arrangements.
Visitation was Wednesday in Canton.
Ruth V. Eadie
Mrs. Ruth V. Eadie, 75, of Eldorado, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Eldorado. She was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Eldorado to the late Kelly and Madge (Baker) Butler.
She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Eldorado.
Surviving are her husband, George R. Eadie; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Carolyn) Crockett of Omaha and Mrs. Cecil (Rosalyn) Uzzle of Marion; a brother-in-law, Henry P. Ehrlinger of Eldorado; four grandchildren, Jerry Elliott, Jimmy Munds, Joey Munds and Kale Uzzle; and five half-brothers and half-sisters.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Pierre Butler and William Butler, and a sister, Rose Lee Ehrlinger.
Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado, where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Dr. Larry Pugh will officiate and burial will be at Wolf Creek cemetery in Eldorado.
Memorials may be made to the College Heights Baptist Church in Eldorado or the Alzheimer's Research fund and may be left at the funeral home.
Howard Swinford
Howard Swinford, 89, of Golconda, died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998 at the Pope County Care Home.
He was born on March 12, 1909, in Pope County, to the late Frank and Lula (Jeffords) Swinford.
On Sept. 29, 1928, he married
the former Rosetta Musgrave. She preceded him in death in 1986.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Linda Swinford of DuQuoin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Bettis of Jacksonville, and Elizabeth and Bill Cory of Williamsville; a brother, Wade Swinford of Havana; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Mr. Swinford was a retired star route mail carrier. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Golconda.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Golconda. The Rev. Billy Green will officiate.
Friends may call at the Aly Funeral Home in Golconda from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
