Madeline Cotter Koelling
Mrs. Madeline Cotter Koelling, 79, of Anna, died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 1999 at the Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born Oct. 1, 1920, at Galatia daughter of the late William Oscar and Mary Melvina (Flannigan) Cotter.
On May 18, 1946, she married
Adolph Koelling at Anna. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1996.
Mrs. Koelling is survived by two daughters, Joan Dallas of Jonesboro, Jean and her husband, Robert Wise of Marion; a sister-in-law, Mabel Cotter of Galatia; six grandchildren, Jill and Paul Wise, Kelly, Bryan, Patrick and Joel Dallas; a great-granddaughter, Katelynn Wise; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-in-law, Ron Dallas, a granddaughter, Kerry Jean Dallas; two sisters, Ruth Williams and Ruby Melvina Cotter; and two brothers, Lloyd Cotter and a brother, in infancy.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna, a member of the Ladies Guild of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Veterans of Foreign War Ladies Auxiliary of Carroll P. Foster Post 3455, and was retired from Florsheim Shoe Co., in Anna.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Paul Weber will officiate. Interment will be in the Anna cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna.
Gary Morse
Services for Gary Morse, 53, of Stonefort, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be in Reids Chapel cemetery near Stonefort.
Mr. Morse died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999 at his residence.
Billy W. Tucker
Services for Billy W. Tucker, 86, of Harrisburg, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown, where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Westwood cemetery at Shawneetown.
Mr. Tucker died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Flossie M. Acord
Services for Mrs. Flossie M. Acord, 73, of New Haven, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 at Cox and Son Funeral Home Chapel in New Haven, where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Tommy Flewellen will officiate and burial will be in Union Ridge cemetery in New Haven.
Mrs. Acord, wife of Clyde Acord, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Crystal (Dietz) Richmond
Services for Mrs. Crystal (Dietz) Richmond, 32, of Fairbury, formerly of Ridgway, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ridgway. Fr. Mark Stec will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph cemetery at Equality.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cox and Son Funeral Home in Ridgway, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Richmond, wife of Thomas Richmond, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999 as a result of an automobile accident.
Harold C. Ambrose
Harold C. Ambrose, 85, of Muddy, died at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
He was born July 27, 1914, in St. Joseph, Ky., to the late Gilbert C. and Mollie (Alvey) Ambrose.
Mr. Ambrose retired from Pankey Bakery in Harrisburg and from Lincoln Bakery of Evansville, Ind. as manager. He was also co-owner of Village Mobile Homes in Muddy until his retirement.
He was a member of the Village of Muddy Board of Trustees and was Democratic Precinct Committeeman.
On March 30, 1940, he married
the former Lucille Hunt. She preceded him in death March 26, 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Carole Molinarolo of Muddy and daughter and son-in-law, Janice and David Darrar of Blytheville, Ark.; a sister, Earline Ambrose of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, D'Andrea Darrar of Punta Gorda, Fla., Mrs. Brett (Julie) Arsta of Franklin, Tenn.; Mark Molinarolo of Harrisburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Matthew and Gretchen Molinarolo of Muddy; great-grandchildren, Lydia Arsta and Will Arsta, both of Franklin, Tenn. and Alex Molinarolo of Muddy; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother died in infancy and two brothers, Leon Ambrose and Truman Ambrose, and son-in-law, Jim Molinarolo, also preceded him in death.
Graveside services will precede burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999 at Sunset Memorial Park, Evansville, Ind. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Roy D. Wise
Roy D. Wise, 74, of 5625 Hwy. 145 South, in the Mitchellville community, died at 4:28 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Saline County to the late Wick and Wanda (Burklow) Wise.
Mr. Wise retired as District Supervisor from Southeastern Illinois Electric Coop after 39 1/2 years.
He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He married
the former Yvonne Seten on Aug. 31, 1946. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Wise of Alabama and Terri Wise of Evansville; a son, Rodric Wise of Pekin; a sister, Donna Futrell of Sandwich; three grandchildren, Heather Ryan, Jamima McReynolds and Megan McReynolds; and a great-granddaughter, McKenzie Ryan. Funeral arrangements are pending at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
Catherine Capps
Mrs. Catherine Capps, 97, of 512 Dewey St., Eldorado died at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.
She was born June 16, 1902, in Muehlenburg County, Ky. to the late Charles and Winifred (Edwards) Wolfe.
Mrs. Capps retired as a cook from hospitals. She was the oldest member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado. Her husband, Roy Capps, preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1972.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Barkley and Sue Capps of Henderson, Ky.; five daughters, Kathleen Dixon of Tallahassee, Fla., Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Sauchuck of Woodbridge, Va.; Betty Baer of Henderson, Ky., Christine Penrod and Delores Sturgell, both of Eldorado; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and eight great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helena Davis.
Services will be 9 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldorado. Rev. Don Abell will officiate and burial will be in St. Vincent cemetery at Morganfield, Ky.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Myrtle E. Carsten
Myrtle E. Carsten, 78, of Dale died 6:35 p.m. Wdnesday, March 1, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Macedonia to the late Oscar and Martha (Summers) Hutchcraft. She was a homemaker and a member of First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
She married
James E. Carsten April 27, 1962, at Eatontown, N.J. He survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Nancy Pietz and husband, Fido of Clovis, Calif., Joan Johnson and husband Bobby, of Fresno, Calif., Sandra Allen of Benton, and Brenda Biggerstaff and husband Dale of McLeansboro; two sons, Lindell Launius and wife Margaret of Herrin and Dennis Allen of Downers Grove; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Jean Stoll of West Frankfort, Lillie Bennet of Louisiana and Letha Sanford of Forest Park.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Rev. Ken Cook will officiate. Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be at Hickory Hill cemetery near Broughton.
Lois Evelyn Pankey
Lois Evelyn Pankey, 92, of Carrier Mills died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at Harrisburg Care Center.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2000, at the Salem cemetery in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Larry Shea officiating. There will be no visitation and all family and friends should go directly to the cemetery. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
Dale H. Sullivan
Dale H. Sullivan, 80, of 16 Cherry Tree Place, Harrisburg died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 4, 1919, to Dock Harlen and Clara Dale (Fivash) Sullivan. He married
Mary Lou Dempsey, who preceded him death Feb. 14, 1987. He then married
Mary Louise Bradley, who preceded him death Nov. 24, 1990. He married
Carla Cape of Harrisburg, who survives.
Mr. Sullivan was the retired president of First State Bank of Eldorado and owner and operator of Sullivan Loan Company. He was also an elder and former financial secretary and treasurer of the Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church. He was a former president of the Eldorado Rotary Club, the original founder of the Harrisburg Santa Claus Fund and active in the Salvation Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sara Wettaw of Cornelius, N.C., Mrs. Jim (Patty) Carlson and Mrs. Richard (Lynn) Harper, all of Harrisburg; one brother, F.M. "Pat" Sullivan of Harrisburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one stepson, Grant Cape of Harrisburg; two stepdaughters, Connie Brown of Harrisburg, Chris Cape of Sanders, Ariz.; and several step grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at the Harrisburg First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. James Baldwin officiating and the Rev. Dr. Roger Lyons assisting. Burial is in Lindale cemetery in Eldorado.
