Calvin Gene Thompson, 70, Rosiclare, died 7:21 p.m. Aug. 13, 2001 at his residence.
He married
the former Juanita Asbell, who survives.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001 at Cox Funeral Home in Rosiclare. The Rev. Roy Baker will officiate.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001 at the funeral home. Burial is in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Golconda.
Carrie O. Ramsey
Mrs. Carrie O. Ramsey, 88, of Eldorado, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center. She was the widow of Elvis Ramsey.

Regina C. Veatch
Mrs. Regina C. Veatch, 92, former resident of Harrisburg and Evanston, died Sunday, June 13, 1999 at 6 p.m. at Mease Countryside in Safety Harbor, Fla.
She was born Nov. 17, 1906, in Glouster, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Trinetta (Mandt) Braddock. She married
Cecil Ross Veatch Nov. 27, 1934, and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1978.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Robert M. Veatch of Great Falls, Va., and William C. Veatch of Columbia, Md.; three grandchildren, Paul Veatch-Moriarty, Carlton Veatch and Carrie (Veatch) Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, William and Robert (Bud) Braddock, a sister, Vernice Henness, two sisters-in-law, Ruth Stein and Reba Land Greeley and four brothers-in-law, Cleo, Eugene and Randall Veatch and Dr. Norman Dale Veatch.
Services will be held Friday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with the Rev. Ralph Totten officiating. Burial will be in the White County Memorial Garden cemetery in Carmi.
Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
Lucille Drone
Mrs. Lucille Drone, 83, of Shawneetown, died Nov. 12, 1998 in Florida after an extended illness. She had been living with her son, Jack Drone.
Mrs. Drone was born April 12, 1915 in Harrisburg, to the late Louis and Lillie Beeler.
She was married
Sept. 14, 1933 to Clarence Alonso Drone, who preceded her in death Aug. 26, 1983. A daughter, Mary Ann (Drone) Wiman, died on Dec. 20, 1996.
Mrs. Drone was an active and devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown. She was also a member of the Church Altar Society.
She was librarian at Shawneetown Public Library for 21 years. When she first started the library had only 250 books and when she retired they had over 10, 000. She was also a very civic minded person, as she was a member of the Woman's Club, Historical Society, Eastern Star, and the Boosters Club. She was also active in the Literacy Program.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Karen Drone; a sister, Beatrice Moore; grandchildren, Sue and husband, Jim Southard, Stacy and husband, Bob Newsbaum, Donna and husband, Mike Marchlewski, Christopher and wife, Karen Drone, Steven Drone, and step-grandson, David Calcaterra; great-grandchildren, Clyde, Erin, and Kandra Southard, Rachel and Brant Newsbaum, Alex and Kyle Marchlewski, and Danielle and Dylan Drone; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Drone.
A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday. June 17, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shawneetown with Fr. Ray Engelhart officiating. Interment of ashes will be at the Immaculate Conception cemetery near Shawneetown.
Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Turner Newbold
Mrs. Rose Turner Newbold, 78, of Lady Lake, Fla. and New Albany, Ind., died Tuesday morning, June 15, 1999 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
She was the former Rose Farmer, a native of Samoth, and the widow of Jack Newbold. She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include a sister, Gerry Janus of New Albany.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. (New Albany time), Friday at the New Hope Baptist Church in New Columbia, followed by a graveside service at the New Hope cemetery, New Columbia.
Arrangements were handled by the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Homes.
Alice M. Fortner
Miss Alice M. Fortner, 40, of Taylorville, formerly of Stonington, died at 8:18 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 1999 in Memorial Medical Center at Springfield.
Miss Fortner was born Oct. 1, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Samuel R. and Carolyn A. (Render) Fortner. Her mother, Mrs. Fortner was a former Harrisburg resident.
Before moving to Taylorville she resided in Stonington and she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her parents, Sam and Carolyn Fortner of Stonington; two daughters, Karley and Chloe of Taylorville; three sisters, Tammy Fortner of Champaign, Angie and husband of Jeff Logue, of Mount Auburn, Missy Fulk and husband, Alan of Stonington; and a brother, Samuel Fortner of Stonington.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 1999 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Stonington. Fr. Martin O'Hara and Fr. David Zimmerman officiated and burial was in Ponting cemetery, Stonington.
Visitation was held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Connolly-McClure Funeral Home
Lillie Bernice Myers
Mrs. Lillie Bernice Myers, 70, of Elizabethtown, died at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999 in Hardin County General Hospital at Rosiclare.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lennie and Carrie (Ledbetter) Crayton, her husband, Leon E. Myers Sr. and a sister, Judith Crawford.
Surviving are three sons, Jarrell and wife, Mary Myers of Elizabethtown, Leon E. and wife, Debbie Myers of Peoria, and Lennie and wife, Phyllis Myers of New Hampshire; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ed Gregory of Peoria; three sisters, Virginia Lambert and Mildred Elam, both of Harrisburg, and Gynelle Baccus of Carterville; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.

Rita Nell Heine
Mrs. Rita Nell Heine, 67, of Metropolis, formerly of Harrisburg, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
Mrs. Heine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Don D. Heine Sr.; a daughter, Susan Myers and husband, Kenneth of Metropolis; two sons, Don D. Heine Jr. and wife, Christy of Lone Oak, Ky. and John E. Heine of Metropolis; six grandchildren, Brandon Heine of Lone Oak, Erin Peterson of Louisville, Ky., John D. Heine, Brian Heine, and Jodi and Jacob Myers, all of Metropolis; a sister, Julie Wilson and her husband, Harold of Harrisburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Ledbetter, Eunice (Beggs) Thompson and her stepfather, George Waldo "Slick" Thompson.
Mrs. Heine was retired after 10 years as a nurse's aid at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was a music instructor of piano and vocal for 25 years. She also sang with the Paducah Symphony Chorus and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Metropolis.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Metropolis, with the Rev. Louis Brinker officiating. Burial will be in Massac Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.

Ruby Joiner
Mrs. Ruby Joiner, 85, of 412 Chestnut St., Stonefort, died at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born in Ledford on Nov. 4, 1913 to the late Henry and Amanda (Garris) Parrot. She married
Lacey Joiner on Aug. 6, 1934. He preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1997.
Mrs. Joiner was a retired nurse and a member of the Stonefort Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Joiner of Bloomington, David Joiner of Stonefort and Rolland Lee Gronendyke of Griffith, Ind.; a daughter, Regina Koelling of Lakeland, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, 1999 at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with visitation Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The Rev. Keith Bunfield will officiate and burial will be in the Garris cemetery.
