Mary E. Heathman, 74, of Galatia, died 7:45 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Hubert Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Mar. 2, 1927, in Saline County to Jim and Mary (Casselberry) Moore. She married
Huston Heathman, who preceded her in death in 1974.
She was a member of Raleigh Baptist Church and worked at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home as a cook. She also did local housework.
She is survived by a son, Allan Heathman, of Galatia, and a sister, Anna Belle Holland, of Mountain Home, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions made be made to the family and left at the funeral home.
Ruby Jean Sefried
Ruby Jean Sefried, 80, of McLeansboro, died 3:07 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Old Springer cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the funeral home.
She is survived by three brothers, five sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Richard Caraker
Richard Caraker, 69, of Anna, died 12:51 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the Union County Hospital in Anna.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Sidney Davis officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Hall cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Anna to the late Phillip and Lona (Russell) Caraker. He married
Gayle Lirely on Jun. 17, 1954, and she survives.
He was a member of the Anna United Methodist Church, a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Air Force, and he retired from the Illinois Central Railroad as a brakeman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin (Anita) Caraker, Indianapolis, Ind., Keith (Alisa) Caraker, Carbondale; two daughters, Diana (David) Taylor, Harrisburg, Ginger Caraker, Anna; four grandchildren, Nathan and Justin Taylor and Dylan and Jonathan Caraker; one sister, Lois (Jim) Blessing, Anna, one brother, Marvin (Mary) Caraker, Cobden; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Anna United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Berniece Ellison Bingman
Berniece Ellison Bingman, 79, of Norris City, died 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at her residence.
Services were held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with the Revs. Bob Murray, Lowes Browning and Tom Flewellen officiating. Burial was at Plainview cemetery near Norris City. Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the funeral home.
She was born Mar. 17, 1922, in Gibson, Mo. to Jasper Roland and Leona (Ayers) Taylor. She married
Herbert H. Ellison on Dec. 24, 1938, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1987. She then married
Harold Terry Bingman on Aug. 5, 1990. She worked at Omaha Furniture and was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Eldorado.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Gene (Linda) Ellison, Norris City, Donnie Keith (Sandy) Ellison, Norris City, Kenneth Ray (Wanda) Ellison, Eldorado, Gary (Carolyn) Ellison, Eldorado; a brother, Delbert Dale, McLeansboro; seven grandchildren, Ronald, Larry, Kevin, Allen, Darren and Terry Ellison and Michelle Williams; and four great-grandchildren.
John W. Penn
John W. Penn, 87, of Route 2, McLeansboro, died 3 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at his residence.
He was married
to the former Mary Sophia Nozicka, who survives.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Dale Barnhurst and the Rev. Gary Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the funeral home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, two brothers, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Rachel Jane Middleton
Rachel Jane Middleton, 88, of Harrisburg, died 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Memorial Herman, Memorial City, Houston, Texas.
The body has been cremated as to her wishes. There will be a memorial service in Harrisburg held at a later date. Arrangements are in the charge of Gaskins Funeral Home, P.C.
She was born in Harrisburg on Dec. 18, 1912, to Willie E. and Anna (Raley) Pankey. On Nov. 25, 1937, she married
Harold "Jack" Middleton, who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2001.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
She is survived by a son, Mark A. Middleton, Anchorage, Alaska, a daughter, Ann Leigh Clements, Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Pankey, Palatine.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Frank A. 'Junior' Frailey
Frank A. "Junior" Frailey, 61, of Shawneetown, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Harrisburg Medical Center from complications with a stroke.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Cox & Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be in Westwood cemetery in Shawneetown. Visitation is noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1939, to Adrian and Hazel (Hodge) Frailey, who both survive. He married
the former Janet Berry, who preceded him in death in 1991.
He was a retired welder, living and working many years in Alaska.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children, Mark (Cindy) Frailey, and Brian (Virgie) Patton, both of Shawneetown; and two grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley.
Mildred Maxine Lewis
Mildred Maxine Lewis, 76, of Route 2, McLeansboro, died 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at St. John's Medical Center in Springfield from complications from heart surgery.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial will be in Ten Mile cemetery near McLeansboro. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at the funeral home.
She was married
to Donald C. Lewis, who survives.
She is survived by one son, one daughter, two brothers, a sister and five grandchildren.
Montana Cheyenne Travis
Montana Cheyenne Travis, two day-old daughter of Scott Bundy and Tammy (Travis) of Fairfield, formerly of McLeansboro, died 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., of a hemorrhage. Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at McLeansboro Church of God with the Rev. Tony Jenkins and Gary Cline officiating. Burial will be in the Digby Hill cemetery near Dale. Visitation is 10 a.m. Saturday until service time with Gholson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, an uncle, an aunt and five cousins.
Warren Dale Sizemore
Warren Dale Sizemore, 68, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Eldorado, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Hospice Unit in Brooksville.
Arrangements are in the charge of Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, Brooksville, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline, one son, two daughters, one brother and five grandchildren.

Roberta Weeks, 89, of Carrier Mills, formerly of Lynnwood, Calif., died 2:08 p.m. today at Harrisburg Medical Center.

She is survived by a brother and a sister.
Bertha F. Boyd
Bertha F. Boyd, 82, of Elizabethtown, died 3:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at Hardin County Hospital.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Rose-Gilbert Funeral Home in Cave-in-Rock with the Rev. Junior Austin officiating. Burial will be in Cave Hill cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 2, 1919.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cave-in-Rock.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Boyd Wise, Harrisburg, two sons, Robert W. Boyd and Gaylon Shores, both of Elizabethtown; one brother, Clarence Lambert, Eldorado, three sisters, Flossie Grace, Willis, Mich., Rena Ross, Willis, Mich., Velma Outland, Maybee, Mich.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Doc Boyd, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Shore, a brother, Charles Lambert, and a grandson, Jacob Wise.
