Wanda L. Warmath, nee Crain, 86, of Waterloo, died Dec. 11, 2011, in Waterloo. She was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Bernie, Mo. Mrs. Warmath is survived by her children, William III "Sam" (Rebecca) Stafford and Allen (Shirley) Stafford; and grandchildren, Cheri (Brent) Langsdorf, Michael (Barb) Stafford, Tracy (Kevin) Scheibe, Stacy Brigance (friend Bryan Smith), Tina (Bryan) Obst, Alisha Stafford (friend Andrew George), William IV "Sammy" Stafford, Keith Stafford, Scott Stafford and Troy Stafford; along with great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousin. She was preceded in death by her mother Dora Crain; first husband, William Dieckmann; and second husband,. James Warmath. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. Mrs. Warmath will be buried at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer.
Beulah L. Bohnemeier, nee Frank, 96, of Columbia, died Dec. 13, 2013, at Oak Hill in Waterloo. She was born June 25, 1917, in Valmeyer, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mathilda (nee Nauman) Frank Sr. Beulah married Harold J. Bohnemeier in 1946 in Valmeyer. He died in 1984. Mrs. Bohnemeier is survived by her sisters-in-law, Leona Frank of Washington, and Viola Frank and Patsy Frank, both of Waterloo; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl, Roy, Edward, Morris and Ralph Frank; and sisters Evelyn Riebeling and Edna Arras. Mrs. Bohnemeier attended St. Paul UCC in Columbia. Visitation and funeral were at Lawlor Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. Mrs. Bohnemeier was buried at the Kolmer Memorial Cemetery. Shirley J. Langhorst, nee Naumann, 75, of Fults, died Dec. 15, 2013, in St. Louis, Mo. She was born Sept. 27, 1938, in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Elmer and Willetta (nee Bridges) Naumann. Mrs. Langhorst is survived by her husband, Edward R. Langhorst; children, Duane (Michele) Langhorst, Kim (Lenny) Voelker, Gala (Dewayne) Seaton and Terri (Gary) Hardy; grandchildren Carrie Langhorst (friend Mike Crowe), Skylar (Maurice) Hollingsworth, Bailey Langhorst, Adam (Jenny) Voelker, Austin Voelker, Alex (Anne) Voelker, Brittiany (Nick) Huebner, Bly (Scott) Crane, Kristen, Jeremy Long and Ashley Seaton; great-grandchildren Tallas Langhorst, Grace Zimmerman, Reagan Posey, Kennedy Voelker, Aubrey and Wesley Voelker, Chase Hopf, Brianna Floyd, Masin Huffine, Connor Long, Weston Long, Maddie Long, Maggie Long and Mackenzie Long; and a sister, Delores (Coleman) Ward. She was preceded in death by her daughter Valerie R. Langhorst; sister Dorothy Cowart; and a brother Elmer "Sonny" Naumann. Verna E. Goeddel, nee Cording, 86, of Waterloo, died Nov. 13, 2013, in Chester. She was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (nee Hitzemann) Cording. Mrs. Goeddel is survived by her daughter, Betty Yankey; grandchildren, Kimberly (Dave) Grass and Laurie Richardet; a great-granddaughter, Cortnie Richardet; and a sister, Florence Stitzel’ along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lafayette Goeddel; a daughter, Melba Goeddel; great-grandchildren, Paige Johnson and Lukas Welton; and a brother, Kenneth Cording. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Mrs. Goeddel was buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery.
Victor T. Buettner, 81, of Waterloo, died Nov. 18, 2013, in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Waterloo, the son of the late Victor F. and Lena T. (nee Straub) Buettner. Mr. Buettner is survived by his son, Iris (nee Nagel) Buettner; children, Marc Buettner and Dawn (Don) Sutter; grandchildren, Shane Buettner and Abbey and Amanda Sutter; and a brother, Ralph (Karen) Buettner; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, David "Big Bitts" Buettner; and a brother, Roger Buettner. Mr. Buettner was a well-known electrician in the local area. He was also very mechanically inclined and loved the challenge of fixing anything. In his later years he spent a lot of time researching on the computer and enjoyed good conversation with family and friends. According to his wishes, Mr. Buettner was cremated. There were no services. Quernheim Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Roy H. Riechmann, 84, of Valmeyer, died Nov. 13, 2013, in Red Bud. He was born Sept. 29, 1929 at Merrimac, the son of the late George and Louise (nee Kruse) Riechmann. Mr. Riechmann is survived by his wife, Alberta (nee Jatho) Riechmann; sons, Perry (JoAnn) Riechmann, Eric (Susan) Riechmann and Alex (Teena) Riechmann; grandchildren, Bradley (Megan) and David (Haley) Riechmann, Sam and Karla Riechmann and Clara Riechmann; and great-grandchildren, Eliot and Miles Riechmann; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Oliver, Elmer and Howard Riechmann. Mr. Riechmann attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valmeyer and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Valmeyer American Legion Post 901, the Valmeyer Knights of Columbus, the Monroe County Farm Bureau and was a former secretary for the Monroe Service Co. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valmeyer with Father Urban Osuji officiating. Mr. Riechmann was buried at the church’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses or the St. Mary's Building Fund.
Ruby Lee Pennock, nee Roberson, 86, died Nov. 12, 2013, in Waterloo. She was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Luxora, Ark., the son of the late Charles James and Mary (nee Brown) Roberson. Mrs. Pennock is survived by her children, Debra (Bill) Hasty, Shirley Clark and Dennis Pennock; grandchildren, Jason (Liette) Goeddel, Jeremy Goeddel, Joel (Becca) Goeddel, Crystal Goeddel, Amy Street, Tabitha (Zac) Royer, Brandy Hasty, Rachel (Bill) Maher, Angela Clark and Michelle (Kadhim) Alidani; great-grandchildren, Elyse, Caleb, Ryder, Logan, Carter, Brinnley, Haylee, Camdyn, Rennah and Abby; and a sister, Laura Popp; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Pennock; a son Clarence Garrison; sisters Opal Spencer and Erma Pryor; and her brother, Frank Roberson. Mrs. Pennock attended Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waterloo. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, bingo and traveling. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Troup officiating. Mrs. Pennock was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Don Grover Hamilton Sr., 85, of Renault, died Nov. 11, 2013, in Red Bud. He was born Dec. 9, 1927, Fornfelt, Mo., the son of the late George and Minnie (nee Spencer) Hamilton. Mr. Grover is survived by his children, Barbara Johnson, Donna (John) Fensterman, Clarence (Brenda) Hamilton, Don (Sandra) Hamilton, Jr., David Wayne (Pamela) Hamilton, Brenda (David) Wetzler, Mary (David) Moll-Crowell and Jimmy (Shyrl) Hamilton; brothers Raymond Hamilton and Homer Hamilton; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thressia (nee Jackson) Hamilton; a daughter, Sandra Hamilton; son, George Hamilton; son-in-law, Harold Johnson; and grandchildren, Katie Hope and Ryan Donald Hamilton. Mr. Grover was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had retired from Amtrak. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Father Roger Karban officiating. Mr. Grover was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Renault.
Cecil T. Hundley, 87, of Valmeyer, formerly of Dupo, died Nov. 15, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Kenton, Tenn., the son of the late Dewey and Mae (nee Hopper) Hundley. Mr. Hundley is survived by his wife, Doris (nee Tweedy) Hundley; his children, James (Joyce) Hundley of Waterloo, Tom Hundley of Dupo, Nancy Johnny) Jackson of Lebanon, Mo., and Lori (Robert) Vance of Valmeyer; a sister, Juanita Jankowski of Greenfield, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his brothers, Bobby Hundley and James Hundley; and a sister, Mary Daunis. Cecil was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force. He later retired as a truck driver from Complete Auto Transit. Visitation and funeral were at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo with Rev. Matt Friz officiating.
Shirley Ann Cope, nee Dalton, 68, of Waterloo, died Nov. 15, 2013, in Waterloo. She was born Sept. 9, 1945, in St. Louis, the daughter of Leroy Dalton and the late Lucille (nee Reeves) Dalton. Mrs. Cope is survived by her husband, Wayne Cope; a son, Aaron (Stefanie) Cope; a grandson, Ian Matzenbacher; a sister, Donna (Lance) Burdette; and a brother, Tracey Dalton; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A private family service was held. Memorials may be made to TIP Hospice.
