James O. Williamson, 85, of Dupo, died Oct. 18, 2006, in Belleville. He was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Dupo, the son of the late Zomie “Elmer” and Elsie Williamson nee Kneezel. He was married to Georgia Williamson nee Tinney. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife; sons Garree (Carol) Williamson and Donald (Virginia) Jelinek; daughter Nancy (Gary) Noedel; grandchildren Matthew Williamson, Nathan Williamson, Stacy (Justin) Perry, Dan Noedel, Sally Noedel and Donnie Jelinek; great-grandchildren Rylie Perry and Gavin Perry; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Anita Williamson; brothers Harvey “Zeke” Williamson and Glen Williamson; and sisters Betty Wilson, Juanita Blaylock and Helen Overbey. Mr. Williamson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked at Monsanto in Sauget, where he was a chemical operator for more than 30 years before he retired. Fern Adams nee Stafford, 90, of Columbia, died Oct. 21, 2006. She was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Boss, Mo., the daughter of the late Mont and Minta Stafford nee Stuart. She was married to the late I. Russell Adams; he preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Adams is survived by her sons Tom (Joan) Adams of Columbia, and Gary (Janice) Adams of Peoria; grandchildren Mark (Tamara) Kohlenberger, Shawn Adams, Erik Adams and Chris Adams; great-grandchildren Olivia Kohlenberger and Emily Kohlenberger; and brothers Winford Stafford of Fenton, Mo., and Glenn (Margaret) Stafford of Barnhart, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Alma Parker and Geraldine Bay. Mrs. Adams was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. Alma Florence Adelia Pellmann nee Giffhorn, 93, of Millstadt, died Oct. 22, 2006, in Columbia. She was born April 5, 1913, in Columbia, the daughter of the late William and Amelia Giffhorn nee Kremmel. She was married to Fredrick P. Pellmann. Mrs. Pellmann is survived by her children Neil (Janice) Pellmann of New Lenox, Dale (Kathy) Pellmann of Indianapolis, Ind., and Don (Vicki) Pellmann of Belleville; grandchildren Jill (Dan) Lanigan, Marc Pellmann, Nicole (Bryan) Cantu, Amber (Kent) Hackstadt, Sean Pellmann, Brittany Pellmann, Tom Pellmann, Scott Pellmann and Mariella Pellmann; step-grandchildren Michael Dulle, Laura (Joe) Brandt, Matthew Dulle and Annie Dulle; great-granddaughter Charli Louise Hackstadt; brother-in-law Herman (Darlene) Pellmann of Millstadt; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Mrs. Pellmann was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Zion Chancel Choir and Zion Women’s Fellowship. She was a volunteer for American Red Cross and was involved with Kitchen Band and Stag Brewery Retirees’ Group, and was a former member of Golden Age Club. Visitation was at Strauss Funeral Home. Loren “Bud” Marlow, 80, of the Sparta-Pinckneyville area, died Oct. 22, 2006, in St. Louis. He was born March 15, 1926, in Pinckneyville, the son of the late Herbert D. and Ellen Marlow nee McQuary. Mr. Marlow is survived by his daughters Carolyn Morrison (Dale Robertson) of Sparta, Cathy Mueller of Florida, and Rachel Bescher of Red Bud; sons Mike (Stacy) Marlow of California, David Marlow of Red Bud, Jason Marlow of Red Bud and Mark Marlow of Red Bud; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Same (Sam) Wine of Coulterville, Olga Lowe of Sparta, and Dean Thomas of Sparta; great-aunt Ruth Vertdvsck, and special friend Kathy Marlow of Red Bud. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mel Marlow and son Dwight Marlow. Margaret Ann Range nee Graff, 76, of Dupo, died Oct. 23, 2006, in East St. Louis. She was born June 7, 1930, in Murphysboro, the daughter of the late John Winfield and Mae Rosalie Graff nee Bucholz. She was married to Floyd “Buck” Range of Dupo. Mrs. Range is survived by her children Carole (Rex) Hancock of Columbia, and Debbie (Terry) Aldridge of Dupo; grandchildren Heather (Kip) Queveraux, Christopher Hancock, Courtney Aldridge, Brandon Aldridge and Brett Aldridge; brother Glenn (Hilda) Graff; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Melba Graff and Wilma Graff. Mrs. Range was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Cahokia. Ester Geraldine Brinker nee Peters, 73, of Dupo, died Oct. 23, 2006, in Belleville. She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Corning, Ark., the daughter of the late Calvin and Ethel Peters nee Keys. She was married to the late Lawrence Brinker. Mrs. Brinker is survived by her children David (Mary) Settlemoir of Cahokia, and Lorene (David) Lord of Dupo; grandchildren Andrea Settlemoir, Christina (Wally) Settlemoir, John Fitzgerald, Nikki (Chris) Raeber and Jeremy Raeber, Stephanie Lord and Sarah Lord; step-grandson Matthew Lord; two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Debbie Settlemoir; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Calvin “Sonny” Settlemoir and daughter Kathy Settlemoir. Mrs. Birkner was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Cahokia. Gary Bradley, 48, formerly of Waterloo, died Oct. 28, 2006. He is survived by his daughters Lauren and Kristen, both of Belleville; sisters Barbara (Carl) Uhlig; brothers Joe (Mona) Bradley, Jim (Carolyn) Bradley and Rick (Sue) Bradley; and nieces and nephews. She was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Huntington, Ore., the daughter of the late Roy Phillip and Hazel Worthington nee Peters. She was married to the late George Pentecost. Mrs. Pentecost is survived by her son William (Ruth) Pentecost, grandsons Barry W. (Kathy) Pentecost, David M. (Diane) Pentecost and Jeffrey B. (Lisa) Pentecost; great-grandchildren Ryan, Kayla, Amber, Veronica, Chandler and Mallory; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son Robert Pentecost. John Trodus, 89, of East Carondelet, died Sept. 4, 2006, in East Carondelet. He was born Sept. 11, 1916, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Peter and Josephine Trodus nee Tomaszewski, Twardowski. He was married to the late Florine Louise Trodus. Mr. Trodus is survived by his sons Alan R. Trodus of Florissant, Mo., and John G. Trodus of Dupo; daughters Karen (Sonny) Pratt of Dupo, Debra (Billy) King of Waterloo, and Pam (Skip) Edwards of Collinsville; grandchildren Kendra Koonce, Michael Koonce, Tracy Diel, Steve Diel, Candace Biggs, Jeff Biggs, Jonathan Schlemmer, Jenny Schlemmer, Toni Lankau, Alan James (Elizabeth) Trodus, Clifford Aldridge, Lisa Aldridge, Tina Edwards, Victoria Edwards and Dennis Ryan Schlemmer; great-grandchildren Taylor Koonce, Mallory Koonce, Micayla Koonce, Brayden Koonce, Bryce Koonce, Joshua Biggs, Corey Biggs, Abigail Biggs, Camden Biggs, Lillian Schlemmer, Samantha Brenden, Matthew Lankau, Nathan Aldridge, Allison Aldridge, Ethan Aldridge and Jordan Aldridge, and was expecting two more great-grandchildren; sister Cecilia Kegel; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter-in-law Marti Trodus, granddaughter Annette Michelle Pratt, sisters Anna and Mary, and brothers Anthony, Steve, Joseph, Frank, Leo, Charles, Joseph, Adam and John in infancy. Mr. Trodus was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was in Company C, 401st Engineer battalion, where he achieved the rank of tech 4. While in the infantry division he marched through Northern Africa, Italy and Sicily. He was a retired maintenance worker for Hussmann Refrigeration in Bridgeton, Mo. He was a member of the American Legion Post 485 in Dupo, was a lifetime member of VFW Post 805 in O’Fallon, and was a member of Anglers and Falling Springs Conservation Club. Visitation was at Dashner Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, Fr. Paul Wienhoff officiating. He is buried at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville.
