Oliver C. Nottmeier, 74, of Waterloo, died Feb. 3, 2006, in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 26, 1931, in Prairie du Rocher, the son of the late Walter C. and Celestine Nottmeier nee Juelfs. He was married Sherron Nottmeier nee Crum. Mr. Nottmeier is survived by his wife; step-children Sheri Oakes and Ralph (Evangeline) Taylor grandchildren Ben, Paula and Grace; sisters Delma (Ralph) Minton of Waterloo, and Erna (William) Spargo of Sunset Hills, Mo.; niece Jan Wenk, nephews Paul Minton and Darryl Spargo; and cousins. He was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harold Nottmeier. Mr. Nottmeier was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joe. He was also a member of Renault American Legion. He was formerly the director of State Bank of Prairie du Rocher. A graveside service was held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Dale W. Curten, 72, of Modoc, died Feb. 4, 2006, in Chester. He was born Sept. 16, 1933, in Modoc, the son of the late Joe and Sadie Curten nee Burch. He married Genelle Rako in 1954. Mr. Curten is survived by his wife; children Lane (Rose) Curten of Modoc, Lisa (Ron) Curten-Vinton of Perryville, Mo., Clay (Barb) Curten of Modoc, and Glen (Katina) Curten of Niles, Mich.; grandchildren Thomas Curten, Emily Curten and Gloria Vinton; brother M.D. “Toby” Curten of Evansville; sister Dixie (Richard) Schlettler of Bellvue, Colo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Virgil Roth. Mr. Curten was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prairie du Rocher, where he served as a deacon for 47 years. He was a member of the Randolph County Farm Bureau and was a levee commissioner fro 28 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation was at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud. Funeral services were at First Baptist Church of Prairie du Rocher, Rev. Ray Brewer officiating. He is buried at City Cemetery in Ellis grove. Noel M. Glenn, 87, of Zalma, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died Feb. 6, 2006, in Arab, Mo. He was born Sept. 7, 1918, in Leora, Mo., the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Glenn nee Williamson. He was married to Lorene Glenn. Mr. Glenn is survived by his wife; children of his first marriage Donald Ray (Pat) Glenn of Owensville, Mo., Noel Leroy (Katie) Glenn of St. Louis, and Sue (Jim) Burns of Waterloo; grandchildren including Tina (Ron) Stumpf, Susan (Ed) Davis, Jimmy (Dawn) Burns; great-grandchildren including Eddie Davis, Mallory Stumpf, Blake Stumpf and Noelle Davis; and sister Delores Sanders of Sikeston, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Violet Glenn nee Stroup, and son James Glenn. Mr. Glenn was a member of Oak Grove General Baptist Church. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home. He is buried at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Waterloo.
Rosaline A. Phillips nee Plage, 84, of Waterloo, died Feb. 7, 2006, in Waterloo. She was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Waterloo, the daughter of the late William and Katie Plage nee Langsdorf. She married the late Raymond Phillips Sr. in 1939; they were married 64 years. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her children Raymond “Butch” (Connie) Phillips of Waterloo, Patricia Ann (Donald) Todd of Doe Run, Mo., and Wanda Lee Harr of Arcadia, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and brother. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home.
Lafy Burton “Burt” Wilkerson, 73, of Fults, died Feb. 7, 2006, in Belleville. He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Selmer, Tenn., the daughter of the late John Q. and Ethel Wilkerson nee Wolfe. He was married to the late Amy E. Wilkerson. Mr. Wilkerson is survived by his children Paula (Mark) Bundy of Maeystown, Kay (John) Jarrett of Red Bud, and David (Angela) Wilkerson of Freeburg; and grandchildren Lauren Bundy, Shelby Jarrett, Ian Jarrett Emily Wilkerson and Nicholas Wilkerson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Mr. Wilkerson was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Ivan Horn officiating. He is buried at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
Sister Mary Virginia Darveaux, ASC, 91, of the Adorers of Christ in Ruma, died Feb. 8, 2006, in Ruma. She was born March 14, 1914, in Rulo, Neb., the daughter of John and Odeal Darveaux nee Prenat. She is survived by brother Jerry Darveaux of Alexandria, Minn., and Henry Darveaux of Pinestone, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Edith Boehrne, Mary Lucille Sellers, Sister Alice Marie Darveaux, ASC, and Dorothy Fisher; and brothers Clarence Darveaux, Edward Darveaux and John Darveaux. Sr. Mary Virginia was a teacher, musician and artist. She taught music and was an organist at Ss. Peter and Paul High School in Waterloo. She also taught and played music at St. Teresa Academy in East. St. Louis, and St. Pius X High School in Festus, Mo. At St. Mary’s Parish in Taylorville she was an artist as well as a musician.
Joseph A. Linnertz, 73, of Waterloo, died Feb. 8, 2006, in Belleville. He was born Feb. 27, 1032, in Prairie du Rocher, the son of the late Frank H. and Cecilia Linnertz nee Shea. He was married to Gloria J. Linnertz nee Winters. Mr. Linnertz is survived by his wife; sisters Margaret Heck of Waterloo, Anna Pelate of Red Bud, Virginia Cooper of Titus, Ala., and Mary Wilson of Red Bud; brother Earl (Pat) Linnertz of Red Bud; sister-in-law Maxine Linnertz of Prairie du Rocher; father- and mother-in-law Herman and Waurine Winters of Madison, Tenn.; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Don and Alice Winters of Gallatin, Tenn., and Steve and Carolyn Winters of Falls Church, Va.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Alvin and John Linnertz. Mr. Linnertz was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Fr. James Long officiating. He is buried at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Waterloo. William Radwick, 83, of St. Louis, died February 8, 2006, in St. Louis. He was born November 11, 1922, in Numa, Iowa, the son of the late Jack and Vera Radosonitch. He was married to the late Laura F. Radwick nee Blattel; she preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. Radwick is survived by his sons David (Judith) Radwick of Waterloo and Mark Radwick of Ballwin, Mo.; two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister Helen (George) Yakovich of Rock Island; brother Rudy (Louise) Radwick of Davenport, Iowa; and nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and six brothers and sisters. Mr. Radwick was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Visitation was at DeFabio Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at Ss. Ruth E. Dolde nee Klingelberg, 95, of Waterloo, died February 9, 2006, in Waterloo. She was born September 20, 1019, in Maeystown, the daughter of the late Louis and Marie Klingelberg nee Krone. She was married to the late Herbert Dolde. Mr. Dolde is survived by nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters Selma Klingelberg, Elsie Klingelberg, Hulda Kettler, Marie Giles and Lillian Schneider. Mrs. Dolde was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown; she was the granddaughter of Ludwig Krone, one of the church’s founding members. She attended a one room school at Chaflin Bridge and graduated from Maeystown High school. She was a teacher in rural Monroe County and later worked at Knaust Mushroom Farm in Valmeyer. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown, Pastor Ivan Horn officiating. She is buried at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown. Raymond C. Koch, 81, of Waterloo, died February 9, 2006, in Columbia. He was born March 14, 1924, in Waterloo, the son of the late Fred H. and Mamie Koch nee Schmidt. He was married to the late Luella Koch nee Rippelmeyer. Mr. Koch is survived by his son David (Kathryn) Koch of Ouray, Colo.; granddaughter Alicia Roberts; brother Delbert Koch of Columbia; sister Esther Giffhorn of Columbia; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Frieda Rippelmeyer, and brother George Hoerr. Mr. Koch was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia.
