Janet M. Bauer, nee Braun, 68, died Feb. 6, 2012 in Belleville. She was born May 16, 1943, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late William Francis and Lucille Theresa (nee Lake) Braun. Mrs. Bauer is survived by herchildren, Marie (Vernon) Homrighausen, Barb Hill, Jane Besher and Angela (Dennis) Evans Sr.; grandchildren, Jessica Homrighausen, Matthew Homrighausen, Miranda Hill, Amy (Justin) Carver, Brad Besher, Nathan Besher and Dennis Evans Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Donjon, Heather Sauerhage, Robin Sauerhage, Austin Rhodes, Alivia Hill, Tyler Cadell, Jaxson Carver and Shane Evans; and brothers, Edward (Linda) Braun, Bill (Janet) Braun, Paul (Sharon) Braun, Steve (Cathy) Braun and Allen (Joyce) Braun; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Amanda N. and Justin M. Homrighausen. Mrs. Bauer graduated in 1993 from SIU Edwardsville with a Masters Degree in Business Management. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, including taking them to movies, having pizza parties and trips to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. Janet also is fondly remembered by her daughters for their vacations to Sanibel Island. Janet was an avid bowler who served for several years with the National Bowling Association. Memorial service is Thursday, Feb. 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral will immediately follow with Father Kenneth York officiating. Memorials may be made to the Garry Lake Fund.

James Harold Hundley, 80, of Dupo, died Feb. 6, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was born June 30, 1931 in Reves, Tenn., the son of the late Dewey and Mae (nee Hopper) Hundley. Mr. Hundley is survived by his brother, Cecil (Doris) Hundley of Valmeyer; a sister, Juanita Jankowski of Greenfield, Tenn.; nephews Tom Hundley of Dupo and James (Joyce) Hundley of Valmeyer; and nieces Nancy (Johnny) Jackson of Lebanon, Mo., and Lori (Robert) Vance of Valmeyer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie M. Hundley; a brother Bobby Hundley; and a sister, Mary Daunis. Mr. Hundley was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a retired electrician. Visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 8, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. Funeral is Thursday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Friz officiating. Mr. Hundley will be buried with full military honored at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.

Marion F. Wiggers, nee Lord, 80, of Waterloo, died Feb. 7, 2012 in Waterloo. She was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of the late Christian J. and Artie M. (nee Wall) Lord. Mrs. Wiggers is survived by her husband, Willard Wiggers; children, Victoria Jewell, Michael (Marilyn) Simpson, Dixie Robinson (Jerri Jones) and Henry Wiggers; daughter-in-law, Becky Stamm Wiggers; grandchildren, Marcie Walker, Valerie(Jimmy) Haley, Andrea (Keith) Glatzer, Meredith (Thomas) Rueger, Brett Wiggers, Ryan Wiggers and Ashley Wiggers; great-grandchildren, Chase and Carson Glatzer, Grant, Mariah and Shellie Haley and Destiny McClement; sister-in-law, Marilyn Dismore; and nieces, Jenny (Mike) Holliday, Beverly Hoffman and Sister Michelle Mohr; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Wiggers; grandson, William McClement; sisters, Marie Mohr and Christine Hurst; and brothers, Jimmy, Raymond, Richard and Robert Lord. Mrs. Wiggers was a member of St. Paul UCC Waterloo, past matron of the Waterloo Eastern Star and was a retired real estate broker. Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at St. Paul UCC in Waterloo with Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. Memorials may be made to her church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Wallace H. Limestall, 86, of Waterloo, died Feb. 10, 2012 in Waterloo. He was born Oct. 14, 1925 in Fults, the son of the late Roy Sr. and Eleanor (nee Kemp) Limestall. Mr. Limestall is survived by his wife, Betty (nee Knowles) Limestall; children Beverly (Bjorn) Lindgren, Susan Limestall and Kevin (Ellen) Limestall; daughter-in-law, Brenda Limestall; a brother, Roy J. Limestall Jr.; and grandchildren Matthew Limestall, Joy (Chris) Krouper, Sarah Limestall, Erin Limestall, Courtney Limestall and Sami Lindgren; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, son Steven P. Limestall; sisters Vivian Faust and Lois Wolf; and a brother, Robert K. Limestall. Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral is Monday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Friz officiating. Mr. Limestall will be buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul UCC Endowment Fund or to the Oak Hill Whispering Pines Activity Fund.

Dennis W. Aulenbacher, 73, of Columbia, died Feb. 10, 2012. He was born Aug. 8, 1938 in Washington, Mo., the son of the late Emerson and Corona (nee Mittler) Aulenbacher. Mr. Aulenbacher is survived by Carolyn Wright and her children Scott Wright, Dr. Grant Wright and Dr. Karen Wright. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Aulenbacher; and a son, Derek Aulenbacher. Mr. Aulenbacher graduated from Illinois State University with a Master’s Degree in Instrumental music and physics. Early in his career he worked as a recording engineer at Universal Recording Studio in Chicago and at Techisonic Studios and Maritz Inc. in St. Louis. During his years as a mixing engineer, he recorded many performing groups including the Beatles, Stan Kenton, Count Basie and the Chad Mitchell Trio. Later on as a freelance engineer, Dennis worked as an audio engineer in the remote truck at Busch Memorial Stadium. He was also employed as a television engineer at KPLR, KDNL and KETC, all in St. Louis. Since 1990, Mr. Aulenbacher was an independent contractor in computer hardware and software, providing consultant services and computer support. In his last years, he taught a class in recording technology at Southwestern Illinois College. Dennis was an accomplished woodwind musician who performed with several local groups, including the Ambassadors of Swing, Second Generation Swing, Looking Glass Playhouse, Lindenwood University and Southwestern Illinois College. Mr. Aulenbacher enjoyed stock car racing, boating on the Missouri River, bicycling and photography. Visitation is Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral will immediately follow with Pastor R. J. Morgan. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri, the Humane Society of Monroe County or National Wildlife Federation.

Michael D. Hayes, 34, died Feb. 13, 2012 from head injuries sustained in a one-car accident. Mr. Hayes is survived by his father, Robert A. Hayes, an attorney in Columbia; mother, Kathy Hayes of Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Jeffrey Hayes of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Craig Hayes and Mark Hayes of Phoenix, Ariz.; and children, Preston, Cheyenne, Chloe and Lilly Hayes of Phoenix, Ariz.; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Hayes; brothers, Daniel Hayes and Kenneth Hayes; and his grandparents. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Phoenix, Ariz.

John T. Macklin, 28, of Red Bud, died Feb. 14, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Rt. 159, just north of Red Bud. He was born Feb. 3, 1984, in Centreville, the son of Melissa (nee Kaltenbach) Macklin of Red Bud and the late Toney Macklin. In addition to his mother, Mr. Macklin is survived by his siblings, Tony Macklin, Sarah Macklin, Hannah Kaltenbach, all of Red Bud, and Charlene Watson of Collinsville; step-grandfather, Robert Causey of Cahokia; paternal grandfather, Roy and Betty Macklin of French Village, Mo.; and his dogs CJ and Candi; along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jo Causey; grandfather, John Kaltenbach; great-grandmother, Sarah Louise Macklin; and grandmother, Opal Gibson. Mr. Macklin was employed as a forklift operator at Gilster Mary-Lee Corp. He was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed fishing and hunting. John enjoyed motorcycle riding and being a MMA Fighter with Team Pain. Visitation and funeral were at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud with Rev. Koen officiating.

Curtis “Levi” Owen, 24, of Chester, died Feb. 14, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Rt. 159, just north of Red Bud. He was born June 15, 1987 in Evansville, Ind., the son of Pamela Rose. In addition to his mother, Mr. Owen is survived by a daughter, Laily Turley of Dupo; girlfriend Holley Turley of Dupo; brothers Rodney and Michael Owen; grandmother, Brenda Rose; uncle, Carey Rose; aunt, Rhonda Rose; and nephews, Hayden Bryson and Gayven Owen; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Curtis Rose; great-grandmother, Ruby Rose; great-grandfather, Jessie Rose; and an uncle, Curtis Rose. Levi was a timber worker who was of the Baptist faith. Visitation and funeral were at at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud.

Edward "Flip" Buettner, 77, of Waterloo, died Feb. 15, 2012 in Waterloo. He was born Nov. 25, 1934 in Columbia, the son of the late Edward and Hilda (nee Johanning) Buettner. Mr. Buettner is survived by his wife, Florence (nee LoPiccolo) Buettner; a daughter, Christine (Richard) Johnson; grandchildren Ryan (Chrissy) Johnson, Amy (Paul) Stern, Brad (Kristin) Johnson and Melissa Johnson; great-grandchildren Estelle Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Brayden Johnson, Pierson Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Gibson Stern and Trysten Johnson; sisters Bernell Bachelier and Lou Ann Sheridan; and brother-in-law Curtis Bachelier; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Edward J. Buettner; daughter, Cynthia E. Buettner; brothers Harry and Harvey Buettner; and sisters Myrtle Pulcher, Gladys Baumer and Verna Bachelier. Mr. Buettner attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia. He was a 50-year member of Carpenter's Local 1997. Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 23, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral is Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia with Pastor Steven Theiss officiating. Mr. Buettner will be buried at the Zoar UCC Cemetery in New Hanover.

Melvin E. Minnemann, 71, of Red Bud, died Feb. 17, 2012 at his residence. He was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Red Bud, the son of the late Erwin and Mary (nee Menke) Minnemann. Mr. Minnemann had been a steel worker for Valley Steel in Sparta. He enjoyed working on chain saws and small engines. Mr. Minnemann is survived by his children, Joseph (Michelle) Minnemann of Hecker, Stacy (William) Schott of Red Bud and Jeffrey Minnemann of Red Bud; grandchildren Tyler Minnemann and Jenna Offermann; sisters Delores Radau of Prairie du Rocher; and nieces and nephews Michelle Miller, Frank Zimmerly Jr., Patricia Young and Darla Baker. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ervin Jr. and Vernon Minnemann. Visitation is Monday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud. A funeral will immediately follow with Rev. Mark Frisbee officiating. Mr. Minnemann will be buried at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prairie du Rocher.
