78-year-old Fairfield resident, Ruby Mae Griswold died at 7:15 Sunday morning, Feb. 16, 2003 at Wayfair in Fairfield.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Jr. of Burnt Hills, N.Y., Robert of Fairfield and Victor of Newburgh, Ind., a daughter, Elizabeth Phillips of Sumner, a brother, Ivan Bell of Fairfield; three sisters, Inez Hilliard of Fairfield, Ethel Michaels of Robinson and Ruth Downard of Barnhill, and nine grandchildren.
Services for Ruby Mae Griswold were at 10:30 Thursday morning, Feb. 20, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

90-year-old Fairfield resident, Emma Odom died at 11:20 Saturday evening, Feb. 15, 2003 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Elliott of Fairfield, Charlene Keener of Albion, and Margeret Erwine of Mesa, Az., four sisters, Freda Wilson, Sadie Rigg, Lula Cannon and Frances Jesop, all of Fairfield; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services for Emma Odom were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield.

88 year old Clay City resident, John W. Luke, died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, February 15th, 2003 at the Flora Pavilion.

Betty Jo Duff
81-year-old Clay City resident, Betty Jo Duff died at 5:05 Saturday evening, Feb. 15, 2003 at Flora Pavilion.
Survivors include her husband, John, a son, James of Clay City; two daughters, Jo Ellen Starrett of Scottsdale, Ky., and Martha Shoemaker of McKenzie, Tn., a sister, Martha winchester of Odessa, Tx., and four grandchildren.
Services for Betty Jo Duff were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
Memorials may be made to the Clay County Health Department Hospice.
Edna Mae Sparr
103-year-old Cisne resident, Edna Mae Sparr died at 6:35 Friday evening, Feb. 14, 2003 at Cisne Healthcare Center.
Surviving are a nephew, Lowell Sparr of rural Cisne; a niece, Rosalie Bolen of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sister-in-laws, Ella Sparr of Lawrenceville and Ellen Sparr of rural Cisne; and several cousines, nieces and nephews in Wayne county and surrounding areas.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 17th at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. Burial in Laird Cemetery.

73 year old Yuma, Arizona resident, Norman Bassnett, died Thursday afternoon, February 13th, 2003.
He is survived locally by a brother, Dean Basnett of Fairfield.

93-year-old Wayne City resident, Opal Witter died at 6:15 Wednesday evening, Feb. 12, 2003 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include sons, Vernon Wilson of Malta, Il., and Charles Witter of Lombard, Il., a step-sonk Jack Witter of Fairbanks, Alaska; a daughter, Lillian Hulfacre of Griffin, Ind., two brothers, Perry Forth of Carlyle, Il., and Curtis Forth of Wayne City; a sister, Judy Jenson of Holly, Mich., 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for John B. Book were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Archie L. Hilliard
73 year old Rinard resident, Archie L. Hilliard, died at 11:03 a.m. Wednesday, February 12th, 2003 at Clay County Hospital in Flora. He worked at International Shoe in Flora, and was retired from Sunbeam Plastics in Flora.
Surviving are a son, Mark of Flora; a daughter, Susan Sanders of Newton; 4 grandchildren, John Nicholson, Dale Nicholson and Olivia Hilliard all of Flora, and Joselyn Hilliard of Chicago; 4 great-grandchildren, Sierra, Kyle, Trevor and Braden; a brother, Robert Hilliard of Rinard; and a sister, Dorothy Courtright of Waters, MIchigan.
