Leona Feist
87-year-old former Mt. Carmel resident, Leona Feist died Monday, Feb. 10th, 2003 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, IN.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Talbott of Centralia, Loretta and Starr Renee Feist; three sons, Roger Moore, and Michael and Eddie Feist, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside service for Leona Feist were at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14 in Union Cemetery, Fairfield, following cremation.
There was no visitation.

Hazel O. Miller
78-year-old Fairfield resident, Hazel O. Miller died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at her home.
Survivors include her husband Kay; three sons, Jon Miller of Fairfield, Dan Miller of Fairfield and Tim Miller of Olney; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Miller of Fairfield; one sister, Oleta Buchanan of Florida, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Hazel O. Miller were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at Johnson Funeral Home with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Johnson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church parking lot fund.
Bertes Pettigrew
86-year-old Albion resident, Bertes Pettigrew died at 3:39 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Carmon of Albion; three daughters, Jean Jones of Ellery, Charanelle Webb of Grayville and Patricia Haycraft fo Dundas, IL; three sons, Rick Pettigrew of Geff, Burl and Donald Pettigrew both of Ellery; a sister, Dorothy O'Daniel of Florida, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Graveside funeral services for Bertes Pettigrew were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9 at the Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Brenda Sue Chamness
53 year old Fairfield resident, Brenda Sue Chamness, died at 12:17 p.m. Friday, April 4th, 2003 at her home.
Survivors include a daughter, Shelly Currence of Ashville, OH; two sons, Sean King of Omaha, Nebraska and Justin King of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Michael Mitcheff of Fairfield and James Chamness of Monne, Utah and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services for Brenda Sue Chamness were held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.
The body was cremated.
There was no visitation.

Robert "Bob" Miller
79 year old Owasso, Oklahoma resident, Robert "Bob" Miller, died at 9:07 a.m. Sunday, April 6th, 2003 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His survivors include three daughters, Karen Kerber of Owasso, OK, Kay Shell of Orchardville and Christy Licona of Oolagah, OK; one son, Brad Miller of Sims; one brother, Raymond Miller of Centralia; two sister-in-laws, Ruby Blasdel of Wayne City and Barbara Thompson of Humble, TX, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Robert L. "Bob" Miller were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Orchardville Community Church with burial at Thomason Cemetery. Military Rites will be held at the gravesite.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 at the York Funeral Home of Wayne City.

David Moore
64 year old former Fairfield resident, David Moore of Jacksonville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, April 1st, 2003 at his home.
Survivors include his wife Lotawanna Moore; a brother, Larry W. Moore of Fairfield; a sister, Crosa Taylor of Clearwater, Florida; and a grandson.
The body was cremated, with graveside services at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, with full military rites.
LeRoy Shaffer
85 year old Fairfield resident, LeRoy Shaffer, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, April 6th, 2003 at his home. He was a former Airtex employee.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Vicki Gray and Sandra Simpson both of Fairfield; a sister, Mary Young Hoffee of Enterprise; a brother, James Paul Shaffer of Wooster, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchldren.

88 year old Albion resident, Mary P. Cullison, died at 3:30 Saturday morning, April 5th, 2003 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Doris Hensley and Donna Dalton both of Albion; 2 sons, Donald Cullison and Ronald Cullison both of Albion; a sister, Doris Rice of Albion; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

64 year old Fairfield resident, Henry S. Patterson, died at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, April 5th, 2003 at his home. He was a veteran, retired from the Air Force.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Donna Kazan White of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania and Dawn Deneen Meade of Woodbridge, Virginia; 3 brothers, James Foster Patterson of Aurora, Il., Larry Lee Patterson of Georgia and Darrell Dean Patterson of Louisiana; a sister, Ethel Fern Ketzner of Flora; 4 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7th at the Archie L. Sanders Chapel. Burial in Thomason Cemetery at Wayne City.

James A. Kelly, Jr.
45 year old Nashville, Il. resident, James A. Kelly, Jr. died Friday afternoon, April 4th, 2003 at his home.
Surviving are his mother, Janice; 2 sisters, Alicia Kelly of Nashville and Debi Vieira of Garden Valley, California; 3 nieces, Shelbi Jo Kelly, Christy Chavarin and Sandy Vieira; a nephew, Anthony Vieira; and his grandmother, Macel Hoover of Enfield.

46-year-old McLeansboro resident, Sherri L. Miller of Richview, died Thursday evening, April 3, 2003 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are her mother, Virginia Childers of McLeansboro; a daughter, Hillary Miller of Murray, Kentucky; a son, John Miller of Le Roy, Il.; 3 brothers, Jim Childers of McLeansboro, Don Childers of Mt. Vernon, Il. and Terry Childers of Collinsville; 5 sisters, Sandy Shuster of McLeansboro, Ann Roberson and Glenda Loftis both of Mt. Vernon, Il., Phyllis Kelison of Tilden, Il. and Judy Riechman of Richview, Il.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6th at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial in Macedonia Cemetery.

Robert Orrel
72-year-old West Salem resident, John Robert "Bob" Orrel died at 5:12 Thursday morning, April 3, 2003 at his home in W. Salem. A U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, he had worked in the oilfields as a roughneck and drilling superintendent for many years.
Survivors include his wife Peg; a son, Mike of West Salem; a daughter, Anita Weldon of Fleet, England; 4 step-children, Donald and Lloyd Fike of Sycamore, Pennsylvania, Debora Wicklund of Phoenix, Arizona, Phyllis Kline of Apache Junction, Arizona; 3 sisters, Laura Mae Johnson of Albion, Margaret Turner of West Salem, and Jane Tomblinson of Rock, MIchigan; 2 brothers, Chet Orrel of Princeton, Indiana and Tom Orrel of Phoenix, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7th at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.
The body was cremated.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. Monday, April 7th until the time of service at the Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.
Bertha Kleinschmidt
93-year-old Fairfield resident, Bertha Kleinschmidt died at 3:55 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 at WayFair Nursing Home, Fairfield.
Her survivors include a son, Eugene Vincent of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Debra Ile of Albion and Diana Travers of West Salem and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services for Bertha Kleinschmidt were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at Graceland Cemetery.
