Donald J. Jones, 56, of Columbia, died Jan. 3, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1953, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Donald and Jeannette (nee Brennan) Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Debra (nee Darnell) Jones; a son, Mark Jones of Columbia; a daughter, Elizabeth (Peter) Wszalek of Shiloh; brother, Lawrence (Tammy) Jones of Brighton; a sister, Stephanie (Tom) Werner of Swansea; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Georgiana Darnell, Sandy (Orville Heyworth) Darnell and Charles Tina Gregory; along with 14 nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Jones was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, working several years at the Columbia Post Office. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and earned a masters degree from SIU Edwardsville. Mr. Jones was a past-governor of Caseyville Moose Lodge 4 and a past-treasurer of the Columbia Rotary Club and the Columbia Music Boosters. Donald was an avid Cardinals baseball and NASCAR fan. Elmer “Ham” Riechmann, 90, of Waterloo, died Jan. 4, 2010 in Waterloo. He was born March 2, 1919 in Valmeyer, the son of the late George and Louisa (nee Kruse) Riechmann. Mr. Riechmann is survived by his wife, Bernice (nee Lark) Riechmann; children Lynn (David) Goeddel, Patsy (Dale) Burns and Celeste (G. Michael) Tichy; grandchildren Elise (Steven) Horvath, Toni (Joshua) Hogan, Noel (Beth) Goeddel, Jarrett Burns, Morgan Tichy and Gavin Tichy; great-grandchildren Greyson and Chase Horvath, Ethan and Cannon Hogan and Lucy and Violet Goeddel; brothers Howard (Melba) Riechmann and Roy (Alberta) Riechmann; sister-in-law Gloria Riechmann and Mary Lark; and brother-in-law, Melvin (Phyllis) Lark; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son in infancy; and a brother. Oliver Riechmann. Mr. Riechmann served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Waterloo VFW Post 6504. He was retired from Luhr Brothers Inc., and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 520. Mr. Riechmann attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 7, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral mass is Friday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul in Waterloo. Alexander Edward Tegtmeier, 77, of Millstadt, died Jan. 5, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 11, 1932 in Millstadt, the son of the late Lorraine and Elvira (nee Nold) Tegtmeier. Mr. Tegtmeier is survived by his wife, Patricia Tegtmeier; sons Shaun McGuire and Scott McGuire; a daughter, Sue Ann Tegtmeier; grandchildren Patrick, Chloe and Lille McGuire; brothers Kurt (Ann( Tegtmeier and Carl (Liz) Tegtmeier; nieces and nephews Kurt Tegtmeier Jr., Phillip Tegtmeier, Lynn Danis, Katie Curdiff, Chris Tegtmeier and Jenny Tegtmeier. Mr. Tegtmeier retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Air National Guard and later from Hartford Insurance Company as a claims adjuster. He attended Faith Family Church in Shiloh. Alex was a life member of the Sister Cities organizations in Millstadt and Columbia, the Masonic Lodge in Belleville and the Millstadt American Legion Post 502. Naomi M. (Saffel) Aubuchon, 86, of Waterloo, died Jan. 9, 2010, at Des Peres Hospital. She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Bonne Terre, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Susie (Richardson) Saffel. She married John Aubuchon. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Aubuchon is survived by her sons Martin (Deborah) Aubuchon of St. Louis, Mo., and Robert (Janice) Aubuchon of Waterloo; grandchildren Emily (Robert) Gould, Katie Aubuchon, Laura (Nick) Van Eck and Allen Aubuchon; great-grandchild, Makayla Van Eck; a brother, Bill Saffel of Bonne Terre, Mo.; and a sister, Sue (Orville) Vogel of St. Louis, Mo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Saffel. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home with Rev. Mary M. Snow, nee Maxwell, 76, of Matthews, Mo., died Jan. 9, 2010, in Matthews. She was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Conway Ark., the daughter of the late Galoway and Bertha (nee Westerman) Maxwell. Mrs. Snow married William Snow in 1951, in Kewanee, Mo. He died in 2006. She is survived by her children, Steaven (Linda) Snow, Ronald (Sherrie) Snow, Sondra (Steve) Fields, Robert Snow, Angela (Jay) Boyd and Scott Snow; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Herman Maxwell; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by two brothers. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Waterloo. Evelyn G. Elliott, nee Hill, 94, of Millstadt, died Jan. 12, 2010 in Waterloo. She was born May 24, 1915 in Chaffee Mo., the daughter of the late Louis and Alberta (nee Taylor) Hill. Mrs. Elliott is survived by her daughter; Susan (Nick) Matthews of Millstadt; a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milbur K. Elliott; two sisters; and one brother. Visitation is Saturday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Shiloh United Methodist Church, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., with Reverend Beverly Wilkes Null officiating. Wanda Lee Baugh (nee Hahn), 87, of Waterloo, died Jan. 12, 2010 in St. Louis. She was born April 30, 1922 in Hillview, the daughter of the Benjamin and Gladys (nee Bridgewater) Brunjes. Mrs. Baugh is survived by her husband, Hobart Baugh; daughter, Joyce J. Krippel; grandchildren Mark Baldus, Andrea (John) Kawalec and Matthew Krippel; and great-grandchildren Nathan and Alex Kawalec. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Baugh; son-in-law, Raymond Krippel; and a brother, Eugene Hahn. Mrs. Baugh was employed as a civil service worker at Scott Air Force Base for 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Wanda was a loving wife for 70 years and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home in Belleville. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Helen Marlene Lane, nee Heupel, 48, of Waterloo, died Jan. 15, 2010. She was born march 5, 1961 in Auburn. Ind. Mr. Lane is survived by her husband, James Lane; mother, Shirley Heupel; brothers Hank (Delores) Heupel and Chris (Michelle) Heupel; and nieces and nephews Kaet, Sarah, Ben and Nick Heupel, Jessica and Samantha Heupel, Jeremiah and Mallory Hanks, Sarah Lane Bell, Summer Saputo and Daphne, Madee and Abby Lane; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Kevin Heupel. Neil Kuehner, 69, of Columbia, died Jan. 15, 2010 at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born March 15, 1940, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late Clem and Victory (Ploesser) Kuehner. He was married to Kathleen (Neumeyer) Landgraf-Kuehner, who survives him. In addition to his wife, Mr. Kuehner is survived by his son, Tim (Angela) Kuehner of Plano, Tex.; daughter, Carrie (David LaFond) Kuehner of Corinth, Tex.; grandchildren Josh, Jacob, Joseph and Johnathan Kuehner; step-sons Brad (Kelly) Landgraf and John Landgraf, both of Columbia; step-grandchildren, Hayden and Brody Landgraf; and sisters Marie (Dennis) McMullan of Waterloo and Barbara (Charles) White of Katy, Tex.; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by first wife, Karen (Hutchings) Kuehner, who died on Feb. 20, 2005; and a granddaughter, Abigail Kuehner. Mr. Kuehner retired as a regional sales manager for the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads, in St. Louis, Mo., and Dallas, Tex. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Waterloo Country Club, the Columbia Gymnastic Association (Turners) and a former firefighter with the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 24, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home. Memorial mass will be Monday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Hildegarde Schueler, 89, of Columbia, died Jan. 16, 2010 at Columbia Convalescent Center. She was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Columbia, the daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Ida (Mueller) Riebeling. She married Clarence Schueler in 1940. He died in 2001. Mrs. Schueler is survived by her children Robert (Marilee) Schueler, Carolynn (Harold) Steffenauer, David (Patti) Schueler and Cathy (Rodney) Fassel, all of Columbia; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers Walter Riebeling and Edward Riebeling Jr.; and a sister, Jane Fritz. Mrs. Schueler worked at Weilbacher's Dry Goods Store in the 1930s through the 1940s. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Sodality. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral is Wednesday Jan. 20, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia with Fr.
