Joan Mueller, nee Krebel, 65, of Columbia, died Aug. 13, 2014. She was born May 17, 1949, in Red Bud, the daughter of Mary Krebel of Columbia and the late Herbert Krebel. Joan married James Mueller in 1969 in Columbia. In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Krebel is survived by her children, Christopher (Jacque) Mueller of Belleville, Michael (Tanya) Mueller of Aurora, Colo., and Jennifer (Edward) Naddeo of Barrington; grandchildren, Blake, Justin and Samantha, Luke, Alex, and Alexandria and Mariana (twins); siblings, Stephen (JoAnn) Krebel, James (Brenda) Krebel and Ellen (Mark) Dehn, all of Columbia; and her father-in-law, Lester M. Mueller of Columbia; along with nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Jean F. Mueller. Joan was a financial counselor at First Financial Bank and Mercantile Bank as well as an assistant pre-school teacher at the Columbia Public Library. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia and was a member of the Columbia American Legion Post 581 Auxiliary. Visitation and funeral were at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Mrs. Mueller was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Stella "Joyce" J. Wolfe, nee Rody, died Aug. 14, 2014 in Waterloo. She was born Aug. 29, 1933 in Tilden, the daughter of the late Charles and Laura (nee Terry) Rody. Mrs. Wolfe is survived by her children, Debbie (Rick) Rice, Becky Wolfe, Monty (Nancy) Wolfe and Eric (Yvette) Wolfe; grandchildren, Michael (Chris) Parker, Amy (Matt) Young, Alex Wolfe, Andrea Wolfe, Jeremy Wolfe, Carter Wolfe, Grant Wolfe and Cole Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Madison, Ellie Grace, Olivia and Mason; sisters, Charolette Arnold and Kay (Bob) Teahan; and pets, Jose and Sassy. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Ann Wolfe; and her sister, Myra Cooper. Mrs. Wolfe was of the Baptist faith. Gertrud P. Turner, nee Traber, 91, of Waterloo, died Aug. 16, 2014 in Florissant, Mo. She was born July 25, 1923 in Aldengen, Germany, the daughter of the late Karl and Paulina Traber. Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughter, Renate Taylor; a grandson, Timothy (Pamela) Taylor; and a great-grandson, Brian White. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Turner; and her brother Otto Walter. Mrs. Turner attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and was an avid golfer. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo with Pastor Tony Troup officiating. Vincent J. Mannino, Sr., 89, of Waterloo, died Aug. 15, 2014. He was born March 4, 1925 in DuQuoin, the son of the late Salvatore and Francesca (nee Mangiapane) Mannino. Mr. Mannino is survived by his children, Kathryn (Keith) Schopp, Vincent (Patti) Mannino II, Frances Mannino and Thomas (Lori) Mannino; grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) Skaggs, Anna (Mason) Williams, Nolan Mannino, Ian Mannino, Chris Marshall and Julia Belz; a great-granddaughter, Riley Skaggs; a brother-in-law, Gene Brock; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Mulligan; along with brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise (nee Eiskant) Mannino; siblings, Vito Mannino, Ida Groh, Natale Mannino, Santina Wilbern, Margaret Brock and Frances Wilbern; and friend, Father Francis Seyer; along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mr. Mannino attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He graduated from St. Henry’s Preparatory Seminary and St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Tony R. Tutor, 40, of Columbia, died Aug. 15, 2014 in a car accident in Randolph County. He was born Aug. 1, 1974, in Belleville, the son of William and Vicki (nee Davis) Tutor of Creal Springs. Besides his parents, Mr. Tutor is survived by his wife, Wendy (nee Muskopf) Tutor; his children, Kayla, Cale, Lexis and Logan Tutor of Waterloo; brothers, Travis (Kerry) Tutor and Troy (Allison) Tutor, both of Columbia; his grandfather, Vernon Davis of Dupo; in-laws, Wayne and Denise Muskopf of Millstadt; a sister-in-law, Kristy Muskopf of Colorado; and nieces and nephews, Jenna, Matthew, Ethan and McKenna. Mr. Tutor was employed as through Ironworker's Local 396 (20-year member). He enjoyed fishing, spending time at the lake and playing ball with his dog, Chase. Eleanor E. Braun, nee Kreher, 96, of Hecker, died Aug. 23, 2014. She was born Jan. 13, 1918 in Paderborn, the daughter of the late John and Frances (nee Neff) Kreher. Mrs. Braun is survived by her children, Don (Kathy) Braun, Barb (Gene) Fetter, Dale (Debbie) Braun and Jo (Steve) Sturgeon; grandchildren, Kevin Braun, Dan (Sue) Braun, Lisa (Robert) McCarthy, Carolyn (Robin) Fetter, Russell (Becky) Fetter, Annie Fetter, Kyle Braun, Ashley (Lance) Fix, Mike (Kathleen) Sturgeon and Matt (Beth) Sturgeon; great-grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Kaitlyn, Cody, Megan, Ryan, Gavin, Dylan, Tyler, Raymond, Hannah, Charlie, Lincoln, Levi, Adalynn, Lucille, Ella and Theodore; a great-great-grandchild, Audrey; and a sister, Isabelle Wittenauer. Gary D. Clark, 67, of Columbia, died Aug. 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 5, 1947, in Glenallen, Mo., son of the late Henry Clark and Demple (nee Dubois) Floyed of Ortonville, Mich. Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Larson) Clark; a son, Robert (Frances “Frankie”) Sweeney of Richmond Hill, Ga.; grandchildren, Luke Sweeney and Tiffany Scarlock; and siblings, JoAnn (Daniel) Nagy, Randal Floyed, Dennis (Maryann) Floyed, Maxine (John) Cole, Elaine Garrison and Leona (John) Merrill. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Melvin Floyed Sr.; and a brother, Melvin Floyed, Jr. Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Gary had been an electrician with the Union Pacific Railroad in Dupo. He attended First Baptist Church of Columbia, where he taught Sunday School for some 23 years. Russell Raymond Boehne, 81, of Collinsville, died Aug. 13, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. He was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Columbia, the son of the late Oswald and Edna (nee Schneider) Boehne. Russell married Marilyn (nee Zipfel) Boehne in 1965. In addition to his wife, Mr. Boehne is survived by his daughters, Lynette (Herb) Phillips and Jeannine (Mike Kraft) Boehne, both of Belleville; a son, Doug Boehne of Collinsville; grandchildren, Victoria Phillips, Jordan Phillips and Joshua Phillips; sisters, Ardelle Hodgson of Centerville, Ohio and Jenny (Raymond) Jung of Waterloo; and brothers-in-law, Marion "Bud" (Jackie) Zipfel of Belleville, Agnellus (June) Zipfel of Belleville, Marvin Zipfel of Cabot, Ark., and Carl Nobbe of Waterloo; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Laverne Kohlmeier and Carol Nobbe; brothers-in-law, Frank Hodgson, Fremond Kohlmeier and Melvin (Joanie) Zipfel; and a sister-in-law, Marie Zipfel. Mr. Boehne served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a retired union carpenter. Russell attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. He was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Visitation was at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville. Mr. Boehne was buried full military honors on at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis County.
Gregory August Kipping, 85, of Waterloo, died Aug. 21, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Valmeyer, the son of the late August and Margaret (nee Mathews) Kipping. Mr. Kipping is survived by his children, Terry (Doris) Kipping, Jenelle Palmer, Kim (Gerald) Straub and Jeff (Laura) Kipping, all of Waterloo; a sister, Marcella Boehne of Waterloo; grandchildren, Greg (Heather) Kipping of Waterloo, Christine (Dave) Otten of Columbia, Melissa (Milton) Kipping-Sherfy of South Roxana, Cassy (Chad) Goldschmidt of Columbia, Carl Diehl of Clayton, Mo., Liette (Jason) Goeddel and Stuart Straub, both of Waterloo, Bethany Kipping of Olathe, Kan., and Ethan Kipping of Waterloo; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Kipping; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Kipping was a construction worker, real estate broker, a business owner, a partner in Kipping and Mathews International Service Center and served four years as a chief deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. He was a third degree knight with the Knights of Columbus Council No.1334. Greg attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. He was a former member of the Waterloo Sportsman's Club, a founding member of the Waterloo Optimist Club, a blood drive chairman and served 14 years as a Democratic County chairman and committeeman. Keith G. Hartrum, 65, of Waterloo, died Aug. 22, 2014. He was born Jan. 18, 1949 in St. Louis, the son of the late Richard and Mary (nee Raftery) Hartrum. Mr. Hartrum is survived by his wife, Mary Jean (nee Prather) Hartrum; his children, Deanna Wolff, Sarah Decareaux, Elizabeth Hartrum, Richard (Roxanne) Hartrum and David Hartrum; grandchildren, Jacob Harrold, Megan Wolff, Hailey Harrold, Kate Decareaux, Nicholas Wolff, Riddick Whelan, Finn Decareaux, Michael Hartrum, Elise Decareaux, Magdalene Hartrum and Eleanor Hartrum; and siblings, Greg (Leslie) Hartrum, Mary Colleen Hartrum (Tim Heck), Judy Schribner, Janet Hartrum and Darrin Thebeau; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandsons, Dominic and Grant Decareaux; a son-in-law, David P. Decareaux, Jr.; and his siblings, Richard Hartrum and Kathy Hartrum. Mr. Hartrum owned Hartrum Painting and Wall Covering. He was a former member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades (District Council 2).
