Daniel Ray "Hebe" Huebner, 67, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at his home. He was born Sept. 28, 1946 in Waterloo, the son of the late William and Matilda (nee Weber) Huebner. Mr. Huebner is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee Clark) Huebner; sons, Douglas (Jenese) Huebner and Dirk (Erin) Huebner of Waterloo, and Dane (Amber) Huebner of Arnold, Mo.; grandchildren, Ian, Megan, Jack and Brynn and Carsten Huebner; a sister, Carol Frey of Athens, Ga; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Huebner of Burksville and Carol Huebner of Columbia; along with aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William (Geraldine) Huebner, Gene (Yvonne) Huebner, Robert (Ruth Ann) Huebner, Paul Huebner and Glenn Huebner; and a sister, Betty (Dave) Miller. Mr. Huebner was a concrete finisher in the construction industry. He was a member of the Waterloo VFW and the Waterloo Sportsman's Club. Visitation and funeral were at the DeFabio Funeral Home with Leonard DeFabio officiating. Mr. Huebner was buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Madonnaville.
Phillip S. Finch, 50, of Waterloo, died July 5, 2014. He was born Nov. 17, 1963, in Red Bud, the son of Kent and Marilyn (nee Horschman) Finch. Besides his parents, Mr. Finch is survived by his brothers, Jeff (Angela) Finch and Tom (Connie) Finch; and nieces and nephews, Nolan and Sydney Finch and Madelyn Finch; along with aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Finch. Visitation and funeral were at the Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Poole officiating. William J. “Bill” Schifferdecker, 45, of East Carondelet, formerly of Valmeyer, died July 6, 2014 in Carbondale after battling cancer. He was born Feb. 21, 1969 in Belleville, the son of Debra (Marvin) Hargis and the late George J. Schifferdecker. Besides his mother, Mr. Schifferdecker is survived by his children, Tina Marie (Brian) Sickinger, Troy Schifferdecker, Tara Schifferdecker and Trent Schifferdecker; siblings,Tresa (David) Meadors, Scot (Lisa) Schifferdecker and Clay (Michelle) Schifferdecker; his step-mother, Marie Schifferdecker; and step-brothers, Donald Jackson, Thomas Jackson and Alonzo (Marcia) Jackson; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and adopted children. In addition to his father, Mr. Schifferdecker was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd Schlemmer, Wanda Stock, and Herbert and Caroline Schifferdecker. Mr. Schifferdecker attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo, and was a Third Degree Knights of Columbus. Bill attended school in Valmeyer and at Gibault. He was member of the SIUC Alumni Association. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dupo with Father Paul Wienhoff officiating. Mr. Schifferdecker was buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Madonnaville. Memorials may be made to the William J. Schifferdecker Children’s’ Fund.
Mary L. Boyer, nee Peck, 90, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Waterloo, died July 13, 2014. She was born Oct. 14, 1923 in Makanda, the daughter of the late Harley and Lila (nee Stephenson) Peck. Mrs. Boyer is survived by her sons, Edward R. Boyer and Christopher A. (Mary E.) Boyer; and a daughter, Ellen (Jack) Albaugh; and 12 grandchildren; along with great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond N. Boyer; a son, Robert L. Boyer; and a brother, Robert Peck. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Allynn Walker officiating. Mrs. Boyer was buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
Larry R. Mueller, 69, of Waterloo died July 12, 2014 in Knoxville, Tenn. He was born July 10, 1945 in Red Bud, the son of the late Roland and Lavina (nee Schneider) Mueller. Mr. Mueller is survived by his wife Linda (nee Toolen) Mueller; daughters Cherie (James) Lambert and Jennie Meadors (friend Darin Juenger); grandchildren, Emma and Hanna Meadors and John and Emily Lambert; and special friends, Darin and Tristan Juenger. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Mueller. A memorial gathering and supper for family and friends will be Friday, July 18, at 6 p.m., at Borsch Memorial Park in Valmeyer. Diane J. Williamson, nee Miller, 61, of Waterloo (formerly of Cahokia), died June 28, 2014 in St. Louis. She was born Aug. 6, 1952, the daughter of the late Russell and June (nee Bruno) Miller. Mrs. Williamson is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Jones and Stacy Taylor; grandchildren, Austin Jones and Derek and Landon Taylor; mother-in-law, Phyllis Williamson; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Bugsch and Richard (Rita) Williamson; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis K. Williamson; and father-in-law, Lawrence Williamson. Mrs. Williamson was retired from the Centreville Township Office. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. Patrick Church in Tipton, with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Mrs. Williamson was buried at Valhalla Cemetery. Cletus Edward Kreher, 85, of Waterloo, formerly of rural New Athens, died June 27, 2014, in Belleville. He was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Paderborn, the son of the late Emerich and Caroline (nee Klein) Kreher. Mr. Kreher is survived by his wife, Verena (nee Mueth) Kreher; children, Clete (Monna) Kreher, Jim (Jan) Kreher, Alice (Richard) Stoops, Ivan (Kerry) Kreher, Carl (Shawn) Kreher and Ruben (Dawn) Kreher; and grandchildren, Dan (Becky), Ryan (Elizabeth) Adrian, Rachel, Megan (Cody), Malia (Steven), Justin, Michael, Adam, Jonathan, Nicole and Nathan; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by daughters, Diane Kreher and MaryAnn Kreher; and siblings, Dominic, Gertie, Alfrieda and Anthony. Mr. Kreher was retired from Operating Engineers #520. He also was a longtime farmer. Cletus attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker. Visitation and funeral were at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker, with Father Von Deeke officiating. Mr. Kreher was buried at the church’s cemetery.
Harvey A. Prange, 73, of Waterloo, died June 26, 2014, in Columbia. He was born Dec. 29, 1940 in St. Louis the son of the late Victor and Alma (nee Kaestner) Prange. Mr. Prange is survived by his wife, Darlene (nee Marquardt) Prange; children, JoAnn (Chris) Barnes, Allen (Sharon) Marquardt, Sandy (James) Honeycutt, Jamie (Kim) Marquardt and Lynn (J.D.) Helms; siblings, Robert (Willa Mae) Prange, Nadine Wright and Nelda (Dan) Rahn; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Prange; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wright. Mr. Prange was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed through Sheet Metal Workers 268. He was a member of the Waterloo VFW Post 6504, the Maeystown Sportsman’s Club, the Waterloo Sportsman’s Club and the NRA. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor R.J. Morgan officiating. Mr. Prange was buried at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Pam Kay Unterseh, nee Miller, 56, of Phoenix , Ariz, died June 25, 2013. She was born in Tucson, Ariz., the daughter of Kay Kopp and the late Howard Miller. Mrs. Unterseh is survived by her husband, William H. Unterseh; daughter, Tovah Kubert; sons, Charles Kubert and Joshua Unterseh; grandchildren, Able Rai, Gabriel Rai, Rani Rai, Serafyna Smith and Mackenzie Kubert; a sister, Frances Ann Fellhauer; brothers, Stan Lee Miller. Curtis (Rebecca) Miller and Stephen (Jenny) Unterseh; and step-grandchildren, Melissa and Belina Unterseh; along with nieces and nephews. Mrs. Unterseh was active in the Afghan House Club of Great Phoenix. Funeral is Monday, July 7, at 7 p.m., at First Southern Baptist Church in Avondale, Ariz.
George B. Post Jr., of St. Louis, died June 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Arlene (nee Hoelker) Post. Mr. Post is survived by his children, Richard (Paula) Post, Cindy (Eugene) Morgenthaler, Diane (Russell) Gregson and James Post; grandchildren Rick Jr., Regan, Riley and Riva Post, Christine, Julie (fiancé Jay Devine), Eugene III, Adam and Ben Morgenthaler, Helen Gregson, and Ellen Post; sister, Carol Ann (Dan) Venderloh; and sister-inlaw, Joan (Walt) Gemmer; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Polk served in the U.S. Army’s 510th Tank Battalion during the Korean War. He was a 60-year member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and a 60-year member of the American Legion. Visitation was at Kutis Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. Mark's Catholic Church. Mr. Polk was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Frances de Sales Benevolent Society.
