Florence B. Buettner, nee LoPiccolo, 79, of Waterloo, died June 21, 2014, in St. Louis, Mo. She was born Nov. 14, 1934, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Jean (nee Klein) LoPiccolo. Mrs. Buettner is survived by her daughter, Christine (Richard) Johnson; grandchildren Ryan (Chrissy) Johnson, Amy (Paul) Stern and Brad Johnson (fiancée Kasey Gallagher); greatgrandchildren Estelle Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Brayden Johnson, Pierson Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Penelope Johnson, Gibson Stern, Cannon Stern, Trysten Johnson and Roxi Embrich; and sisters Fran Cunetto, Janet Fitzsimmons and Cissy Murphy; along with sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. "Flip" Buettner; her son Edward J. Buettner; daughter Cynthia E. Buettner; sisters Clara LoPiccolo and JoAnn Leahy; and her brother Joe LoPiccolo. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at Concord Presbyterian Church in Waterloo with Pastor Andrew Cheatham officiating. Mrs. Buettner was buried at the Zoar UCC Cemetery in New Hanover. Memorials may be made to Legacy Place.

Saundra Kay Voll, nee Watkins, 69, of Fults, died June 19, 2014 in Waterloo. She was born July 18, 1944 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the daughter of the late William Henry and Ola Dell (nee Helderman) Watkins. Mrs. Voll is survived by her son, Stephen Scott (Pam) Voll; a brother, Dr. Eugene (Gisela) Watkins; and a sister, Lois (Dr. Donald) McCrosky; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Stephen Voll. Mrs. Voll was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Will Hesterberg and Pastor Andrew Cheatham officiating. Mrs. Voll will be buried at the St. John UCC Cemetery in Fults. Memorials may be made to the Monroe County Helping Strays or the American Cancer Society.

Leroy A. Mees Jr., 66, of Waterloo, died June 21, 2014 in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 9, 1947, in Belleville, the son of the late Leroy and Mildred (nee Lindhorst) Mees. Mr. Mees is survived by his children, Mandy (Aaron) Shinn, Charles (Charlene) Mees and Elizabeth Mees; grandchildren, Zachary, Charles Jr., and Charlotte Mees, Kingsly Shinn, and Gabbie and Abigail Mees; and a sister Mildred Lee (Robert) Menke; along with nieces, a nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Mees was a supervisor for Ace Grease in Millstadt. Visitation and funeral were at the Quernheim Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Hand officiating. Mr. Mees was buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kingsly's Education Fund.

Dennis L. “Dix” Lenhardt, 70, of Waterloo, died June 12, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 3, 1944 in East St. Louis, the son of the late Willis and Adeline Pauline (nee Koerber) Lenhardt. Mr. Lenhardt is survived by his wife, Patricia Shayne (nee Hern) Lenhardt; children, Brian (Patty) Lenhardt, Lisa (Scott) Schumacher and Stephen (Laura) Lenhardt; step-children, Michelle (Jeff) Braun, Tammy (Mark) Roessler, Jeff Reynolds, Tracy Reynolds and Wendy (Kevin) McClory; grandchildren, Jessica (Alan), Brett, Brendan, Madison, Logan, Griffin and Kiara; step-grandchildren Brittany, Zachary, Grant, Laura, Kendall, Samantha, Amy, Noah, Brendan and Alyssa; a brother, John "Sonny" (Mary) Lenhardt; and his beloved pet, Bubba the cat; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Lenhardt had retired from the City of Waterloo and formerly owned Dix’s Mixes. He was very devoted to his community, being a former alderman, auxiliary police officer, Waterloo Police Commissioner and a firefighter. Dix was a member of the Waterloo Odd Fellows, Waterloo Knights of Columbus and the Coon Lake Fishing Club. He attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo with Father Osang Idagbo officiating. Mr. Lenhardt was buried at the church’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to his church, the Waterloo Fire Protection District or BJC Hospice.

Paul Keith Scoggins Sr., 87, of Belleville died June 14, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville. He was born Dec. 22, 1926 in East St. Louis, the son of the late Raymond Kenton Scoggins and Winnie Catherine (nee Talkington) Scoggins. Mr. Scoggins is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol (nee Miller) Scoggins; children, Keith Scoggins of Estero, Fla., Mark C. (Joy) Scoggins of Columbia, Mary Scoggins of Destin, Fla., Robert T. (Sarah) Scoggins of O'Fallon, Mo., and Laurie (Glen) Gorowsky of Daphne, Ala.; grandchildren, Erin (Robert) Scoggins-Cernuda, Kelsey Scoggins-Scudder, Blaine Scoggins, Haley Scoggins, Clayton Scoggins, Holly (Joel) Kern, Ariel (Mike) Matsko, Miller Scoggins, Maggie Scoggins, Andie Gorowsky and Kai Gorowsky; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Noah; and sister-in-law, Doris Scoggins; along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Glayda Scoggins; and a brother, Bill Scoggins. Mr. Scoggins was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. He retired as a bank officer for Illini Federal Savings and Loan (now Associated Bank). Paul was active in Boy Scouts, Kiwanis and was an accomplished pianist. Visitation was at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights. Funeral was at Our Lady of the Snows’ apartment community chapel with Msgr. Carl Scherrer and Father Joe Ferrioli officiating. Mr. Scoggins was buried at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Columbia.

Leon L. Biffar, 53, of Waterloo, died June 4, 2014, in Belleville. He was born Feb. 3, 1961, in Red Bud, the son of Sylvester and Leona (nee Weber) Biffar. In addition to his parents, Mr. Biffar is survived by his wife, Lisa (nee Biffar) Biffar; children, Nicole (Paul) Deaton, Kelly (David) Chomhirun and Magdalen Biffar; a grandson, Jakob Deaton; and siblings, Jane (Dennis) Asselmeier, Judy (Richard) Heck, Alan (Rita) Biffar, John (Anne) Biffar and Rita Polka; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Biffar. Mr. Biffar attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo with Father Osang Idagbo officiating. Mr. Biffar was buried at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Madonna-ville.

Roger Leroy Weber, 49, of Ballwin, Mo., died June 15, 2014 in Benton. He was born Sept. 21, 1964 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Virginia (nee DeClue) Weber, and the late Leroy Weber. Besides his mother, Mr. Weber is survived by his children, Christopher Weber, Christina Weber, Heather Weber, Nicky Briones and Kayla Harkey; sisters, Diana (John) Stephens and Linda Sutton; and four grandchildren. Visitation and funeral were at Quernheim Funeral Home with Mark Boyster officiating. Mr. Weber is buried at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Madonn-aville.

Lawrence D. Yarber Jr., 60, of Columbia, died June 10, 2014 in Aspen, Colo. He was born Dec. 26, 1953 in E. St. Louis, the son of Nancy Ann (nee Raeber) Yarber and the late Lawrence D. Yarber Sr. and In addition to his mother, Mr. Yarber is survived by his wife Phyllis (nee Hammell) Yarber; children David (Shannon) Yarber, Laura Yarber, Katie Yarber and Michael Yarber; granddaughter, Stacey Yarber; and siblings, Matt (Kathy) Yarber, Mike (Ann) Yarber, Teresa Blomenkamp, Kathy (Ron) Lynn, Chris (Ron) Hausmann, Bobbie (Marty) Baldwin, Mary Zaiter, John Yarber and Greg Yarber; along with aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Yarber attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Paderborn, where he sang in the choir. He worked in health care. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army (captain). He was a former Boy Scout and coached youth baseball. Larry enjoyed softball, billiards, martial arts and cooking. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. Michael Catholic Church in Paderborn with Father James A. Voelker officiating. Memorials may be made to his church, National Public Radio or to the American Heart Association.

Roy J. Limestall, 91, of Columbia, died June 4, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in St. Louis. He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Fults, the son of the late Roy J., Sr. and Eleanore (nee Kemp) Limestall. Roy married Mae (nee Juengling) Limestall in 1946 in Columbia. She died in 2008. Mr. Limestall is survived by his daughter, Ann (Mike Cook) Kleinschmidt of Millstadt; sons, Dennis (Nancy) Limestall of Schaumburg and Gary Limestall of Columbia; grandchildren, Doc (Michelle) Kleinschmidt, Tyler Kleinschmidt, Courtney (Matt) Craig, Blake (Altera) Limestall and Chad (Erica Starling) Limestall; great-grandchildren, William and Brock Kleinschmidt, and Aria Limestall; and a sister-in-law, Betty Limestall of Highland. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Wallace Limestall; sisters, Lois Wolf and Vivian Faus; a son-in-law, Gary Kleinschmidt; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Limestall; and a grandson, Ryan Limestall. Mr. Limestall served in the U.S. Naval Air Reserves from 1947-1959. He was a retired superintendent with Parks Air College. Roy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a member of the Columbia Sportsman’s Club, Columbia Gymnastic Association, Columbia Senior Citizens and was a former president of the Columbia Lions. Roy was an avid Kloepper player and enjoyed Wednesday card playing with the men and Friday with the ladies at the YMCA. Mr. Limestall was known for his bountiful garden, especially the lettuce he shared. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia with Fr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Mr. Limestall was buried at the church’s cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund or the ICS Education Fund.

Alberta M. Wild, nee Gilbert, 79, of Waterloo, died June 6, 2013 in Waterloo. She was born Aug. 9, 1934 in Valmeyer, the daughter of the late Adam Gilbert, Jr. and Bertha Gilbert – Rippelmeyer (nee Scheibe). Mrs. Wild is survived by her siblings, Carnel (Catherine) Gilbert, Virginia Keaton, Roy (Yvonne) Gilbert and Judy (Roger) Wild; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Kenneth (Betty) Wild and Stanley (Betty) Wild; and her aunt, Catherine Napier; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wild; sisters, Leona Jaenke and Dorothy Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Harold Keaton, Joe Meyer, Carl Johnson and Leroy Jaenke. Mrs. Wild attended St. Paul UCC in Waterloo where she was active in the Ladies Fellowship, mission committee and consistory. She was a longtime member of the Valmeyer American Legion Post 901 Auxiliary. Alberta was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Waterloo Rotary. She enjoyed playing kloepper and pinochle with her family and friends. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. Paul UCC in Waterloo with Pastor James Watson and Pastor Thelma Burgonio-Watson officiating. Mrs. Wild was buried at the Kolmer Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the St. Paul UCC of Waterloo Mission Fund.
