Kenneth N. Wright, 61, of Red Bud, died July 31, 2005, in Red Bud. He was born August 31, 1943, in St. Louis, the son of the late John E. and Katherine Wright nee Nedlin. He was married to Nadine E. Wright nee Prange. He is survived by his wife; children Anita (Dan) Miller of Waterloo and Tina Tomlin of Red Bud; grandchildren Crystal Miller, Danielle Miller, Jennifer Zelger, Bill Zelger and Jay Tomlin; brothers Ben (Glenda) Wright and Roland Wright; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. There was no visitation or funeral, per Kenny’s wishes. He requested a reception in his memory for relatives and friends at the home of Willard Wiggers.
Edna F. Dannehold nee Schaper, 87, of Waterloo, died June 1, 2005, in Red Bud. She was born October 23, 1917, in Harrisonville, the daughter of the late William and Lydia Schaper nee Horn. She was married to Warren Dannehold. She is survived by her husband; daughters Diane (Gene) Hoffmann of Waterloo and Janelle (Mike) Waters of Waterloo; grandchildren Gina Hoffmann, Laura Hoffmann, Angie Waters, Jeremy Waters and Jackie Waters; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers. Mrs. Dannehold was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Waterloo. Visitation was a Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pastors Tony Troup and Kyle Sandersfeld. She is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo. Ida M. Mitweide nee Lefholz, 94, of Columbia, died June 3, 2005, in Shiloh. She was born October 21, 1910, in Valmeyer, the daughter of the late Jacob and Lena Lefholz nee Schewe. She was married to the late Charles M. Mitweide. She is survived by her granddaughter Lori (Jerry) Brickeen of Collinsville; grandchildren Benjamin Brickeen, Brittany Brickeen and Bethaney Brickeen; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Lloyd Glenn Byers, and sisters Louise Kanyo and Elsie Schlemmer. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor David Stabenfeldt officiating. She is buried at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer.
Donald L. Kent, 71, of Red bud, died June 4, 2005, in Sparta. He was born May 31, 1934, in Ames, the son of Leona Ken nee Rahn of Red Bud and the late Lee Kent. He was married to Juanita Kent nee Huebner. He is survived by his mother, wife, daughter Donna (Tom ) Dale of Ruma; grandson Rodney Dale (friend Shena Mayer); brother Ronald (Bonnie) Kent of Red Bud; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Kent was a member of Pipefitters local #649. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home. He is buried at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery.
Albert A. Altes, 92, of Waterloo, died June 5, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born June 27, 1912, in Fults, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Altes nee Hoffmann. He was married to Emma K. Altes nee Sparwasser. He is survived by his wife; children Wallace (Jane) Altes of Albany, N.Y., and Nancy (Ray) Reed II of Fairfax, Va.; grandchildren Scott (Diane) Altes, Read Schusky, Lt. Ray (Jessica) Reed III, and Kathryn Reed; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers William, Sylvester, Alfred, Eliot and Roland Altes; sisters Irene, Corena and Luelle, and godson Gene Osselmeier. Mr. Altes was a lifetime member of St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown, where he was past consistory and financial secretary for 10 years; he served two terms as president of the Monroe Service Company; served five terms on the Waterloo City Planning Commission; served three years as Master of Morris Lodge AF & AM #787, where he was a member for 61 years; he was a member of Valley of Southern Illinois Order of Scottish Rite, and member of Maus School Board for 12 years. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. John United Church of Christ, Pastors Ivan Horn and Susannah Thompson officiating. Maryann Rouse nee Ribbing, 61, of Fenton, Mo., died June 8, 2005, in Herculaneum, Mo. She was born August 23, 1943, in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Victor and Rosalie ribbing nee Luberda. She was married to Carl Rouse of High Ridge, Mo. She is survived by her husband; children Michael (Lisa) Brannon of Arnold, Mo., Kimberly (Todd) Litzau of Festus, Mo., and Carl (Jasmine) Rouse II of Pacific, Mo.; grandchildren Alec, Adam, Jorden, Ryan, Kiley and Ravyn; brothers Henry (Judy) Ribbing of Kansas City, Michael (Loretta) Ribbing of Danville, Donald Ribbing of Columbia and Timothy (June) Ribbing of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; sister-in-law Bonnie Ribbing of Columbia; and other relatives and friends. Richard C. Hutchings, 81, of Waterloo, died June 10, 2005, in Red Bud. He was born May 9, 1924, in Cutler, the son of the late Thomas E. and Lora M Hutchings nee Henson. He was married to Josephine Hutchings nee Poenitske. He is survived by his wife; daughters Phyllis (Charles) Lloyd of Waterloo and Kathryn Schrader of Waterloo; grandson Michael (Pam) Lloyd; great-grandchildren Erika Lloyd and Aaron Lloyd; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and a grandson in infancy. Mr. Hutchings was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He was a member of American Legion Post #747, United Auto Workers Local #2250,and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Harold Keith Nunley, 53, of Waterloo, died June 10, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born March 4, 1952, in Detroit, the son of Rachel Christine Nunley Grubb and the late Marshall Franklin Nunley. He was married to Marsha Nunley nee Dasher. He is survived by his mother; wife; children Rachel Lyn Nunley and Matthew Franklin Nunley; sister Peggy (Rodney) Hawkins; nephews Eric (Brenda) Hawkins and Brian Hawkins; great-niece Alyssa Hawkins; great-nephew Tyler Hawkins; mother-in-law Jean Dasher; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karen and Ron Hogan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Julie Saher; niece Kristi Hogan; nephews Timothy (Karen) Hogan, Philip Hogan, and Aaron Dashner; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father John Grubb; paternal grandparents John Franklin and Sally Nunley nee Hatfield; maternal grandparents James Gilliam and Gladys Brown nee Scarboro; father-in-law Frank Dasher, and numerous aunts and uncles. He was retired from Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Mo. Funeral services were at Trinity General Baptist Church in Dupo, Pastor Dennis Minter. Mabel M. Woodcock nee Koch, 82, of Columbia, died June 12, 2005, in Columbia. She was born August 29, 1922, in New Hanover, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Koch nee Meyer. She married the late Wayne Woodcock in 1946. She is survived by her daughter Darlene (Richard) Cullen of Columbia; son Kevin W. Woodcock of Columbia; grandsons Jeffrey Cullen and Austin Woodcock; great-granddaughter Lena Devine-Cullen; and sister Pauline Sunderman of Mascoutah; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters O’Linda Marin, Alfrieda Feco and Clara Koch, and brothers Louis Koch and Henry Koch. Mrs. Woodcock was a member of Zoar United Church of Christ in New Hanover. He was a member of Columbia Senior Citizens, Columbia Gymnastic Association and American Legion Auxiliary Post #581. Uldene A. Abernathy, 85, of Lake Nebagamon, Wisc., formerly of Steeleville, died June 10, 2005. She was born September 17, 1919. She was married to the late Allen Abernathy. She is survived by her son William (Cecilia) Abernathy of Wilmington, Del.; daughter Bonnie (William II) Ranta of Lake Nebagamon, Wisc.; grandchildren Thomas (Valerie) Abernathy and Rebecca Abernathy; great-grandchildren Pamela Abernathy, Alexandria Abernathy and Emily Abernathy; great-great-grandchild Olivia; brother Gordon VanPelt of Murphysboro; and sisters Eleanor Misplais of Columbia and June Burch of Chipley, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter Rebecca. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included quilting, baking and reading. A graveside service was held at St. John Cemetery in Fults.
