Timothy Ryan Floerke, 23, of Waterloo, died June 15, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born November 14, 1981, in St. Louis, the son of Susan Floerke of Waterloo and Arthur Koch of Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Chris Kock of New Athens; grandmother Sis Floerke of Waterloo; aunt JoAnn (Richard) Meier of Waterloo; cousins Michael Meier and Nicholas Meier; and great uncles, great aunts and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mac Floerke and Jack and Mary Koch. He worked in the restaurant industry as a crew leader. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Madonnaville, Fr. John Ssebitosi officiating. He is buried at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Madonnaville. Marie P. Ervin nee Mines, 79, died June 15, 2005. She was born March 25, 1926, in Sparta, the daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Mines nee Brownfield. She was married to Rex Ervin. She is survived by her husband, son Rim Ervin, grandchildren Travis, Tom, T.J. and Tyler; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth Mines. She was cremated according to her wishes. She is interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Jo Ann E. Riebeling nee Stumpf, 70, of Columbia, died June 17, 2005. She was born October 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Stumpf nee Offerman. She was married to the late Walter Riebeling. She is survived by her children Renee Gulley, Randy (Patty) Riebeling, and Rhonda (Brian) O’Farrell; grandchildren Roxanne Gulley, Ryan Gulley, Ross Gulley, Kyle Riebeling and Holly Riebeling; great-grandchild Jaydin; brothers Robert Stumpf and Dale (Carol) Stumpf; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Harold Stumpf. Mrs. Riebeling was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia, where she preformed with the bell choir and was active with the Kitchen Committee. She was also a member of the Columbia Senior Citizens, RSVP, Columbia Woman’s Club, Eos Book Club and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #581. She had worked as a legal secretary at the Law Offices of Adams and Huetsch in Columbia. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia, Pastor Michael Dixon officiating. She is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Shermona Jean Pelgus nee Nassif, 81, of Valmeyer, died June 17, 2005, in Valmeyer. She was born November 12, 1923, in St. Louis, the daughter of Sherman Nassif and Estella Parker. She was married to the late Albert J. Pelgus. She is survived by her daughter Shalon (Wayne) Luttrul of Valmeyer; sister, Merna (Mel) Alexander of St. Louis; grandchildren Wayne Luttrul, Jerry Luttrul, Wade Luttrul and Lonny Luttrul; great-grandchildren Angel Luttrul, Kyle Luttrul, Seth Luttrul, Aaron Luttrul, and Amber Luttrul; and nieces, nephews and friends. Richard A. Doerr, 92, of Columbia, died June 23, 2005, in Columbia. He was born January 23, 1913, in Maeystown, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Doerr nee Sutter. He married the late Marian M. Doerr in 1943; she preceded him in death on February 8, 2005. He is survived by his son Donald Doerr of Columbia; sister Elfrieda Fuss of Maeystown; cousins Sara Misplay of Fults, Gladys Kramer of St. Louis, Helen McNatt of St. Louis, and Roy Sutter of St. Louis; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother William Doerr and sister Lorraine Borcharding. Mr. Doerr attended St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia. He was retired from Cargill Grain in Cahokia and the Columbia School District as a custodian. He was also a member of the American Federation of Musicians Local #717 in East St. Louis. She was married to Wayne Lee Luttrull Sr. She is survived by her husband; sons Wayne (Cheryl) Luttrull Jr., Jerry Luttrull, Wade (Shelley Strong) Luttrull, and Lonny (Nikki) Luttrull; grandchildren Angela Luttrull, Amber Luttrull, Kyle Luttrull, Cody Luttrull, Seth Luttrull, and Aaron Luttrull. Elsie Lillian Woods nee Chastain, 78, of Valmeyer, died June 26, 2005, in St. Louis. She was born January 3, 1927, in Venice, the daughter of the late Richard and Marion Chastain nee Johnson. She was married to the late Vernal “Woody” Woods. She is survived by her children Edward (Tina) Woods of Champaign, Wayne Huddleston, Karen Woods of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Deborah Thomas of Camdenton, Mo.; grandchildren Kelsey, Nikita, Dwayne, Nathan and Christian; two great-grandchildren; brother Arthur Chastain Sr. of Red Bud; and sister Marion McCarthy of Granite City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Helen Wiley and Pearl Chastain, and brothers Edward Chastain, Jim Chastain, Jasper Chastain and Junior Chastain. John W. Linnertz, 68, of Okawville, formerly of Prairie du Rocher, died June 28, 2005, in Nashville. He was born July 1, 1936, in Renault, the son of the late Frank H. and Cecilia Linnertz nee Shea. He is survived by his daughters Vicky (Mark) Schwankhaus of Okawville and Ronda (Kenneth) Farah of Wantage, N.J.; brothers Joe (Gloria) Linnertz of Waterloo and Earl (Pat) Linnertz of Red Bud; sisters Margaret Heck of Waterloo, Anna Pelate of Red Bud, Virginia Cooper of Titus, Ala., and Mary Wilson of Red Bud; sister-in-law Maxine Linnertz of Prairie du Rocher; and grandchildren Christopher Linnertz, Austin Schwankhaus, Kelly Farah and Jonathan Farah. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Alvin Linnertz, and brothers-in-law Leo Heck, Percy Pelate, Johnie Cooper and Don Wilson. Robert R. Russell, 80, of Valmeyer, died June 29, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born February 19, 1925, in Marissa, the son of the late Ross and Sarah Russell nee Whitmore. He was married to Luella A. Russell nee Kuergeleis. He is survived by his daughter Bobbie L. Russell of Valmeyer; brother-in-law Larry Biggs of DeSoto, Mo., and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lora Mae Biggs. Mr. Russell was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer, where he was a past president. He was a member of the Valmeyer American Legion, Waterloo VFW, Waterloo Sportsman’s Club, and Maeystown Sportsman’s Club. He worked for the U.S. Air Mobility Command for 35 years.
