Emma L. Haudrich nee Eckart, 81, of Smithton, died October 7, 2004, in Belleville. She was married to the late Cyril Haudrich. Mrs. Haudrich was born May 17, 1923, in Hecker, the daughter of the late Adam and Emma M. Eckart nee Birkner. She is survived by children Darwin (Donna) Haudrich of Hackett, Ariz., Norman (Diane) Haudrich of Paderborn, Karen (Dan) Helfrich of Smithton, and Mary (Lanny) Reed of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers Edmund (Esther) Eckart of Hecker, and Ervin (Irene) Eckart of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Mrs. Haudrich was a member of St. Michael’s Church in Paderborn and St. John the Baptist Church in Smithton, as well as Smithton Senior Citizens. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Delphine Pape nee Mehrtens, 80, of Waterloo, died October 8, 2004, in Waterloo. She was married to the late Gilbert R. Pape. Mrs. Pape was born August 5, 1924, in Merrimac, the daughter of the late Emil A. and Emma Mehrtens nee Kruse. She is survived by her daughters Mary Kay (Mark) Reinhold of Waterloo, and Victoria (John) Rudisill of Waterloo; sons Robert (Judy) Pape of Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald (Christine) Pape of Basking Ridge, NJ, and Thomas (Valerie) Pape of El Cerrito, Calif.; grandchildren Brett Pape, Brian Pape, Benjamin Pape, Emily Pap, Eric Pape, Laura (Adam) Frierdich, Katie Reinhold, Bethany Reinhold, Adam Reinhold, Alex Reinhold, Michael (Michelle) Damron and Gabe Adad; great-grandchildren Kellen Damron and Cole Roberts; sisters Esther (Roland) Schmidt and Shirley (Don) Mehmann; and brothers Gene (Liz) Mehrtens and Dale (Wilma) Mehrtens. Magdalene M. Dougherty nee Heimos, 66, of Red Bud, died October 8, 2004, in St. Louis. She was married to the late William T. Dougherty. Mrs. Dougherty was born December 5, 1937, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late George and Mary Heimos nee Hubert. She is survived by children Michael W. (fiancée Wendy Sullivan) Dougherty of Red Bud, Brenda (Steven) Limestall of Red Bud, Mark (Wanda) Dougherty of Ridgefield, Wash., Bernadette Dougherty of Waterloo; and Barbara (Jesus) Quinones of Waterloo; grandchildren Erin Limestall, Courtney Limestall, Bridget Dougherty, Justin Dougherty, Brian Dougherty, James Quinones, Dario Quinones and Alejandra Quinones; friends Paige Sullivan and Allie Sullivan; sisters Mary Ann Kern of Waterloo, and Ruth (Don) Swise of Georgia; brothers August (Priscilla) Heimos of Waterloo, and Nick (Dottie) Heimos of Waterloo; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Laverne J. Doiron, 76, of Prairie du Rocher, died October 8, 2004, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He married Audrey Doiron nee Jung in 1951; she survives him. Mr. Doiron was born August 15, 1928, in Prairie du Rocher the son of the late Ernest and Theresa Doiron nee Mathews. He is survived by his wife; children James (Louise) Doiron of Columbia, Larry (Sue) Doiron of Waterloo, Susan Doiron of St. Peters, Mo., and Lynn (Mike) Manfredo of Marion; brothers Ernie (Ina) Doiron of Prairie du Rocher and Lilburn (Shirley) Doiron of Prairie du Rocher; grandchildren Derek Doiron, Gabriel Doiron, Ernest Doiron, Mary Colyer, JP Doiron, Scott Doiron, Alisha Doiron, Malea Manfredo and Milana Manfredo; great-grandchildren Lucas Doiron, Trent Doiron, Ronin Doiron and Van Doiron; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Doiron was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher. He was the mayor of Prairie du Rocher from 1976 to 1990. Gloria Esther Mund nee Hoffmann, 60, of Waterloo, died October 9, 2004, in Waterloo. She was married to Lionel “Lonnie” Mund; he survives her. Mrs. Mund was born February 20, 1944, in Red Bud, the daughter of the late Gustav and Hilda Hoffmann nee Schultheis. She is survived by her husband; children Gene Mund (and friend Barbara Esker) of Prairie du Rocher, Gay Lea (James) Mund-Roush of Waterloo, Monica (Marc) Hunter of Waterloo, and Sherry (Steven “Stick”) Walter of Evansville; grandchildren Lucas Mund, Cody Crossin, Garrett Crossin, Kyle Cooley, Nikki Mund, Jarett Roush Rainna Roush, Grace Walter, Matthew Hunter and Jessica Hunter; brothers Richard (Marilyn) Hoffmann of Fults, and Marvin (Catherine) Hoffmann of Fults; sisters Verne (Arthur) Trost of Waterloo, and Pearl Graves, of Dixon, Mo.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lewis Hoffmann. Mrs. Mund was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joe, where she was president of the church board, president of the Women’s Fellowship, sponsor of the Youth Fellowship, a member of the quilters, a substitute organist and a church choir member. She was a retired school bus driver, which she did for 20 years, and she led the Bushy Prairie 4-H club for 39 years. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Edward A. Rickert Sr., 92, of St. Louis, died October 9, 2004, in St. Louis. He was married to the late Yvonne M Rickert nee Rapp. Mr. Rickert was born July 30, 1912, in Waterloo, the son of the late George and Gertrude Rickert nee Crook. He is survived by his children Edward A. Rickert Jr., Gary W. Rickert and Rosemary E. Weiss; son- and daughter-in-law Richard W. Weiss and Barbara A. Arthur H. Verbeke, 85, of Waterloo, died October 9, 2004, in Red Bud. He was married to Doris Verbeke nee Guth for 62 years; she survives him. Mr. Verbeke was born July 11, 1919, in St. Louis, the son of the late Arthur J. and Anna Verbeke nee Dieckmann. He is survived by his wife; children Arthur C. (Judy) Verbeke, June Craig, Kathleen (Stephen) Behrmann and Suzanne (Bart) Bartholomew; grandchildren Cynthia Wastenberger, Timothy Verbeke, Daniel Verbeke, Julianne Craig, Jonah Behrmann, Michael Behrmann, Caleb Behrmann, Hannah Behrmann, Abraham Behrmann and Tucker Bartholomew; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Margaret Hausler; and brothers Robert Verbeke, Leonard Verbeke and Edmund Verbeke. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Hunter Bartholomew, and brothers Vincent Verbeke and Thomas Verbeke. Mr. Verbeke attended St. Catherine Laboure Church, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4596. He served in World War II and was a member of VFW Post #4539. Glenda E. Pretto nee Timmons, 58, of Columbia, died October 11, 2004, at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis. She married Richard Pretto in 1968; he survives her. Mrs. Pretto was born November 3, 1945, in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of the late Lester and Virginia Timmons nee Jones. Susan Kay Seders, 49, of Red Bud, died October 11, 2004, in rural Waterloo. She was born August 23, 1955, in Red Bud, the daughter of Elda Seders nee Burmester and the late Earl Seders. She is survived by her mother; sons Todd (Jessica) Seders of Red Bud, and Corey (Jennifer) Seders of Red Bud; daughters Rachel (fiancé Luis) Stevenson of Atlanta, Ga., and Rebecca Stevenson of Red Bud; brother Wayne (Carol) Seders of Prairie du Rocher; sisters Margaret (Charles) Ratz of Red Bud, Sandra (Richard) Cogar or Ireland, Va., and Carleen (Michael) Stolte of Evansville; and four grandchildren. Violet M. Nilges nee Carver, 93, of Champaign, formerly of Waterloo, died October 15, 2004, in Champaign. Mrs. Nilges was married to the late Anton H. Nilges. She was born March 28, 1911, in Jefferson city, Mo., the daughter of the late James F. and Caroline Carver nee Kaiser. She is survived by her daughters Norma Jean (James E.) Butler of Waterloo, and Albertha “Terri” (Howard) Carr of Champaign; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Patricia (Marcella) Schriemann of Jefferson City, Mo.; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren Thomas E. Butler and Michael D. Carr, two sisters and eight brothers. Mrs. Nilges was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
