Josephine A. Hayden nee Karawoski, 82, of Columbia, died September 25, 2004, in Belleville. She married the late Everett Pat Hayden in 1941. Mrs. Hayden was born May 24, 1922, in Scranton, Penn., the daughter of the late Matthew and Josephine Karwoski nee Oleksy. She is survived by her sons Curtis (Jean) Hayden, of Lebanon, Mo., and Patrick (Elaine) Hayden, of Belleville; daughter Debra Lepp, of Columbia; eight grandchildren; seven grandchildren; sister Sophie Wierciak, of Fairmont City; and brother Chester Karwoski, of Millstadt. She was preceded in death by her daughter Barbara Ramsey; sister Genevieve Risman; brothers Steve Krik, Henry Karwoski, John Karwoski and Henry Karwoski; and sisters Antoinette Tieman and Mary Cook. Ervin G. Kruse, 81, of Waterloo, died September 23, 2004, in Waterloo. He was married to M. Bernice Kruse; she preceded him in death. Mr. Kruse was born June 15, 1923, in St. Joe, the son of the late John and Anna Kruse nee Koestner. Luella Koch nee Rippelmeyer, 86, of Waterloo, died September 23, 2004, in Belleville. She was married to Raymond Koch; he survives her. Mrs. Koch was born August 21, 1918, in Harrisonville, the daughter of the late William and Louise Rippelmeyer nee Hammer. Laura B. Badaracco nee DeRoy, 97, of Waterloo, formerly of St. Louis County, died September 20, 2004, in Waterloo. She was married to Anthony A. Badaracco; he preceded her in death. Mrs. Badaracco was born February 11, 1907, in St. Charles, Mo., the daughter of the late Albert and Julia DeRoy nee Jose. She was born September 5, 1913, in Modoc, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Lillian Gertrude Barbeau nee Mudd. She is survived by children Roy Dale (Sylvia) Kurtz, of Troy, Irma (Robert) McConnell, of Swansea, Edna (Donald) Walters, of St. Louis, Mary (Danny) Bruce, of Dupo, Jeanne (Fred) Redmond, of St. Louis, Ralph (Julie) Kurtz, of Jacksonville, Fla., Glenda (Len) King, and John (Cathy) Kurtz, of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends. Franklin Emile Bachelier, 67, of Lake Ozark, Mo., died September 17, 2004. He married Barbara Tracy in 1982. Mr. Bachelier was born September 27, 1936, in Prairie du Rocher, the son of the late Wilbur Thomas and Ida Laurent Bachelier. Robert W. Boland, 81, of East Carondelet, died September 16, 2004, in Belleville. He married Charlotte Boland nee Bush in 1947; she survives him. Mr. Boland was born July 22, 1923, in East Carondelet, the son of the late Oscar and Rosie Boland nee Miller. He is survived by his wife; son Darby Boland, of East Carondelet; grandchildren Breanne Boland and Nick Boland; brothers Jim Boland, of Ellis Grove, George (Goldie) Boland, of Millstadt, and Mandy Boland, of Washington; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Nancy Meyer, Dorothy Hayes and Irene Boland; and brothers Clarence Boland, Willy Boland and Lefty Boland. He was a retired civil servant with the U.S. Army and Navy. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War, and spent 20 years in the Naval Reserves. Donald L. Buettner, 64, of Waterloo, died September 13, 2004, in Waterloo. He was married to Bernell Buettner nee Boehne. Mr. Buettner was born January 22, 1940, in Wartburg, the son of the late Edwin L. and Stella Buettner nee Goodell. Melvin J. Fisher, 49, of Valmeyer, died September 1, 2004, at his mother’s home in Dupo. He was born February 18, 1955, in Perryville, Mo., the son of Carol Fisher and the late Thomas K. “Jack” Fisher. He is survived by his mother; brothers Kirk (Denise) Fisher of Valmeyer, Marvin Fisher of Millstadt, and Timothy (Tina) Fisher of Millstadt; business partner of Doug Bader of Valmeyer; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Fisher was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Valmeyer. He was a member of the Valmeyer Volunteer Fire Department, chairman of the fireworks committee, a First Responder and EMT and a disaster coordinator during the flood of 1993. He was a locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad for 31 years and belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Local #674 in Dupo. Visitation will be at Dashner Funeral Home Friday and Saturday, September 3 and 4, from 2 p.m. on Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A funeral mass will be Saturday, September 4 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Dupo, Rev.
