Susan Marie Sager, nee Price, 55, of Dupo, died June 3, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo. She was born June 9, 1955 in Red Bud, the daughter of the late Nathan and Mary Margaret (Kelly) Price. Mrs. Sager is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mike Sage; a son, Bradley (Jessica) Sager of Paducah, Ky.; a daughter, Natalie Sager of Dupo; and an aunt, Novella Clohesy of St. Ann, Mo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Natus Lee Price; an uncle, Olen Price; and aunts, Doris Price and Eva Sullivan. Susan was the office manager for Midwest Vision Care in Columbia. Visitation was Monday, June 6 at Dashner-Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo. Funeral is Tuesday, June 7, from 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Friz, officiating. Mrs. Sager will be buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. John D. Kiefer Jr., 81, died June 5, 2011 in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was born Sept. 8, 1929 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of the late John D., Sr., and Cleta Kiefer. He was previously married to Barbara Kiefer and the late Ruth Kiefer, who died in 1988. Mr. Liefer is survived by his children, John D. (Jackie Camp) Kiefer III, Kenneth (Cathy) Kiefer, Cathryn (William) Ingram, Michael (Nicole) Kiefer and Gerald Kiefer; and in-laws, Edward (Diane) Sugden Jr., James (Robin) Sugden, Jean (Rick) Barton, Donald (Norma) Pecaut, Buddy Winkler and Stella Fassold; along with 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Mrozek; sisters, Trula Kiefer-Ponder-Ward and Delores Fish; in-laws, Edward Sugden Sr., Bernice Sugden, Margie (William) Power, Olinda (Jess) Bishop, Harry Fassold, Clarence (Valeria) Pecaut, Howard Pecaut, Velda Winkler and Rhonda Steinbecker, and a great-grandson, Hunter McClellan. Mr. Kiefer was a military veteran, having eight years in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at Luhr Bros. Inc of Columbia for 38 years and was a 60-year member of the Perryville, Mo., American Legion Post. Mr. Kiefer was cremated according to his wishes. Loren G. Mentel, 83, of Waterloo died June 5, 2011 in Valley Park, Mo. He was born Jan. 20, 1928 in Waterloo, the son of the late Marc and Cornelia (nee Petri) Mentel. Mr. Mentel is survived by his daughter, Charlotte (Peter) Mills; and grandchildren Julie (Steve) Kirsch, Erin (Gary) Faircloth and Perry (Angela) Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Faye (nee Stallman) Mentel. Mr. Mentel attended St. Paul UCC of Waterloo. Visitation is Friday, June 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Grace Rednour, nee Morgan, 92, of Prairie du Rocher, died June 6, 2011 in Prairie du Rocher. She was born Aug. 12, 1918 in Carterville, the daughter of the late Richard and Laura (nee Procter) Morgan. Mrs. Rednour is survived by her children, James (Laura) Rednour, Ronald (Wilma) Rednour, Wayne (Carol) Rednour, Ralph (Carol) Rednour, George (Teresa) Rednour, Charlie Rednour, Amos (Donna) Rednour, Roger (Nyla) Rednour, Moe (Lana) Rednour and Lucy (Bill) Charlton; and sisters, Helen Stutsmann and Ethel Gunter; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Xavier Frances Melliere, 104, of Prairie du Rocher, died June 6, 2011 at the Red Bud Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 12, 1906 in Prairie du Rocher, the son of the late Abel and Adele (nee Nevois) Melliere. Xavier married Christine Hoffman in 1932 in Madonnaville. She died in 1992. Mr. Melliere was a lifelong farmer of grain, cattle and hay. He was also the manager of the Prairie du Rocher airport/emergency landing service. Xavier attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairie du Rocher and was a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau. He enjoyed his work, hunting, and spending time with his family. Victor Leon Bean, 59, of Columbia, died June 7, 2011. He was born Sept. 18, 1951 in Murphysboro, the son of the late Lovelace and Dorothy (Melton) Bean. Mr. Bean is survived by sons, Brandon (Gabrielle) Bean of Virginia Beach, Va., and Brent (Stella) Bean of Columbia; daughters, Brandi Bean of Columbia, Brittani (David) Shreve of Cahokia and Bridget (Andrew) Newcom of Columbia; grandchildren, Keirstyn, Brianna, Dayton, Brody, Zachary, Kailey and David; sisters, Sue Poston of Bloomington, Annette Ford of Peoria and Diane Bean of Peoria; and a brother, Dale Kessler of Peoria. Elmer E. Frees Jr., 87, of Red Bud, died June 7, 2011 at the Red Bud Nursing Home. He was born June 16, 1923 in Belleville, the son of the late Elmer and Hilda (nee May) Frees Sr. Mr. Frees is survived by his wife, Allene Frees; sons, Larry (Diane) Frees of Red Bud, Charles Frees of Osage Beach, Mo., and Randy Frees of Red Bud; sister, Elsie Jean Roscow of Red Bud; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Frees. Mr. Frees was of the Protestant faith and was a grain and livestock farmer. Michael T. Griffin, 59, of Waterloo, died June 8, 2011 in St. Louis. He was born Jan. 13, 1952, the son of Evelyn (Becker) Griffin and the late Jerry Griffin and. Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Betty (Michels) Griffin; a brother, Dennis (Sandra) Griffin; mother-in-law, Barbara (Lautenbach) Michels; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Josh) Lynn, Tim (Sarah) Griffin and Kevin Griffin (Kaylyn Huebner); sister-in-laws, Elfrieda (Joe) Lloyd, Barb Hoselton, Marie (Bill) Schlemmer, Kathy (Kenny) Goodman, Sue (Lou) Stuart, Debbie (Jeff) Blandford and Diane (Joe) Lewis; and brothers-in-law, Alfred (Donna) Michels, Joe (Debbie) Michels, Rick (Patty) Michels and John (Jackie) Michels; along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Deborah "Debbie" Rolerkite, nee Chesley, 54, of Red Bud, died June 9, 2011 in Red Bud. She was born Sept. 9, 1956 in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Edward and Margarie (nee Frank) Chesley. Mrs. Rolerkite is survived by her husband, Brian Rolerkite; a son, Colin Rolerkite; sister, Sherry (Larry) Hollis; niece, Margie (Mark) Spearicino; and nephew, Edward (Debra) Hollis. Marjorie E. Schrieber, 84, of Red Bud died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. She was born April 23, 1927 in Crossville, the daughter of the late Loren and Cicely Ann (nee Davenport) Boultinghouse. She married C. Richard “Dick” Schrieber in 1953 at Phillipstow. He died in 2009. Mrs. Schrieber is survived by Thomas (Barbara Ann) Schrieber and Curtis (Barbara Ann) Schrieber; a sister, Doris(Urban) Wolf; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister,Helen Miller; and a brother, Bernard “Cap” Boultinghouse. Marjorie was a homemaker, who was also an executive secretary in St. Louis and also worked at the Red Bud High School. Mrs. Schrieber attended St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud and the Red Bud Senior Center. She was a past-president and former district president of the Red Bud Women’s Club and the St. John Lutheran School PTA. She enjoyed bowling. Visitation was at the Wegle-Pechacek Funeral Home. Funeral was at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud. She was buried at the church’s cemetery.
