Survivors include his mother, Georgia, a sister, Denise Duncan of Browns, a special friend, Donna Butler of Albion; a niece Brandi Stennett of Albion, a nephew Kristopher Duncan of Albion, a great-nephew Marcus Stennett and Great Neice, Mackenzie Stennett.
Funeral services for Douglas Mitchell were at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 8 at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion with burial at a later date.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. Sunday, August 8 until the time of service at the Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.

Velda M. Morrow
75-year-old former Albion resident, Velda M. Morrow of Atoka, Tennesseedied Sunday, August 1, 2004 in Tipton County, Tennessee. She was a former school bus driver at Brownsville, Il., and a former member of the Mattoon and Albion First Southern Baptist Churches.
Survivors include a son, James W. Morrow of Ardmore, Alabama; daughters, Fran M. Sestina of Atoka, Tn., and Peggy L. Jones of Naples, Fla.; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Velda M. Morrow were at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 5 at the Campground Cemetery at Mattoon.
Visitation was from noon til 1:30 Thursday afternoon, Aug. 5, at the Schillings Funeral Home in Mattoon.

88-year-old Fairfield resident, Eldon L. Long died 9:35 Wednesday evening, August 4, 2004 at Wayfair in Fairfield.

94-year-old Carmi resident, Addie Fitzgerald died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the White County Medical Center in Carmi. She had worked as a cook for many years at several area restaurants and clubs.

65-year-old Carmi resident, Mary Horste died Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at the White County Medical Center in Carmi.
Survivors include her son, Phillip Horste of Healdton, OK; three grandchildren, Haley, Hank and Harmony Horste; and two nephews.

89-year-old Fairfield resident, Elsie Mae Keen Cross died at 5:55 Tuesay morning, August 3, 2004 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She had been a self-employed seamstress.

85 year old Albion resident, Martha Marie Rector, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, October 3rd, 2004 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville.
Surviving are a sister, Margurite Bond of Calvin, Il. and 2 half-brothers, Byrom Ward of Calvin and Robert Ward of Grayville, along with several nieces and nephews.

77 year old rural Albion resident, Leonard Garman, died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, October 9th, 2004 at his home. He was a WW II Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife Wanda; 2 daughters, Judy Mason and Jana Ibbotson both of Albion; 2 sisters, Terry Beehn of Texas and Vernadine Goodson of Mt. Carmel; a brother, Todd of Missouri; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

95 year old West Salem resident, Laura Gray, died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday, October 9th, 2004 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. She had worked as a seamstress for Johnney Manufacturing Company for several years.
Surviving are 4 grandchildren, Becky K. Goodwin and Larry R. Davidson both of Olney, Gary W. Davidson of West Salem and Linda J. Hall of Bedford, Indiana; 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

69 year old Grayville resident, formerly of Henderson, Kentucky, Glen D. Schmidt, died Friday, October 8th, 2004 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville. He had been a truck driver.
Surviving are his wife Mary Ruth; a son, Jay of Birmingham, Alabama; a step-son, Alan Shorb of Carmi; 3 daughters, Sharon Gifford of Grand Rapids, MIchigan, Lori Graber of London, Ohio and Amy Schmidt of Winterhaven, Florida; 2 step-daughters, Bernice Hall of Danville, Indiana and Dava Shorb of Carbondale, Il.; a brother, Gerald of Lagrange, Indiana; a sister, Marjorie Loschky of Milford Center, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Glen D. Schmidt were at 1 p.m. Monday, October 11th at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Mr. Schmidt's remains will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later time in Milford Center, Ohio.

82-year-old Albion resident, Katherine Irene Baxter died at 9:30 Wednesday morning, Oct. 6, 2004 at her home.
