Kathleen A. Baumann nee Brucker, 89, of Columbia, died May 4, 2004, at Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon. Mrs. Baumann was married to the late Rev. Robert John Baumann. She was born December 19, 1914, at Columbia, the daughter of the late Emil and Anna Brucker nee Grub. She is survived by daughters Ruth (Douglas) Bush and Mary Anne (William M.) Jenkins; brother Warren (Laverne) Brucker; grandchildren Susan K. (Eric) Zaber, Jennifer A. Jenkins, Kathleen Gerdes, Kara Bush and Deborah E. (Ken) Lafata; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers George J. Brucker and Charles E. Brucker. Mrs. Baumann was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Columbia, where she was active with the Women’s Guild. She was also a member of Columbia Senior Citizens. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville. She is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Jimmie W. Webb, 71, of Waterloo, died May 5, 2004, at Red Bud. Mr. Webb was married to Exil Webb nee McKinney. He was born October 3, 1932, at Glencoe, Mo., the son of the late Leo J. and Esther V. Webb nee Sudheimer. He is survived by his wife; stepson Rick Baxter; stepdaughters Sonjua (Robert) Clark and Pam (John) Neumeyer; grandchildren Paul Clark, Anthony (Gerri) Clark, Christopher Clark, Stacy (Tony) Mooney, Colin (Tassa) Neumeyer and Brent Neumeyer; and great-grandchildren Alexxus Clark, Eben Clark, Eren Clark, Christopher Mooney, Alec Mooney, Nolan Neumeyer and Emma Neumeyer. He is preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Webb attended First Baptist Church in Waterloo. He was a retired foreman from Chrysler Corporation, and was a member of Morris Lodge #787. Visitation was at DeFabio Funeral Home. Funeral services were at First Baptist Church in Waterloo. He is buried at Bethel Cemetery in St. Louis. James H. Smith, 75, of Cahokia, died May 6, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Mr. Smith was married to Mildred Smith nee Schroeder. He was born June 21, 1928, at St. Louis, the son of the late Arthur and Beulah Smith nee Jackson. He is survived by his wife; sons Michael (Barbara) Smith and Steve (Paula) Smith; sister Yvonne (Lee) Johnson; sisters-in-law Leona Smith and Jerry Smith; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Art Smith and Charles Smith. Mr. Smith attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia. He was employed by Defense Mapping Agency and Aerospace Center as an operator in the printing department. He was a World War II veteran and a member of VFW Post #7980 in Millstadt. He was also a member of Boots and Slippers Dance Club in Caseyville. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral Services were at St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Steven Theiss. Erma E. Eisiminger nee Roediger, 92, of Columbia, died May 8, 2004, at Columbia Convalescent Center. She was born November 17, 1911, at Columbia, the daughter of the late Otto and Selma Roediger nee Buettner. She is survived by brother Ottmar (Esther) Roediger; sisters Loretta (Mel) Arb and Ruth Crittendon; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Roediger; and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Ella Keck and Selma Forness; and brothers Arthur Roediger and Eugene Roediger. Mrs. Eisiminger attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia. She worked at Davis Cleaners and Bond Cleaners in St. Louis for 37 years. There was no visitation at Mrs. Eisiminger’s request. A private graveside service was held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Columbia, officiated by Pastor Steven Theiss. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Ardell E. Hinrichs nee Kremmel, 87, of Columbia, died May 8, 2004, at Columbia Convalescent Center. Mrs. Hinrichs was married to the late Albert H. Hinrichs. She was born December 5, 1916, at East St. Louis, the daughter of the late William H. and Eva M. Kremmel nee Rohm. She is survived by daughter Kathleen (Roger) Stechmesser; son Kenneth (Margaret) Hinrichs; sisters Thelma Herbst and Lucille (Vernon) Smith; brother Oliver Kremmel; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Taleitha Donnell, and brothers Wilbur Kremmel and Clarence Kremmel. Mrs. Hinrichs attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbia, where she was active with the Sunday School, Ladies League and Fellowship Club. She retired from Meyer Drug Co. in St. Louis as a typist. James C. Humphries, 24, of Hecker, died May 8, 2004. He was born August 24, 1979, in Algiers, La., the son of Earl and Cathy Ennor. He is survived by his parents; sister Wendy (Kenneth) Crossen; nieces Katelynn Crossen and Kira Crossen; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was employed at Wessel’s Market in Smithton. Lionel G. Miller, 59, of St. Louis, died May 8, 2004, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Tex. Mr. Miller was married to Holly Miller nee Ludwig, of Columbia. He was born September 16, 1944, at St. Louis, the step-son of the late Louis and Olinda Matzenbacher nee Pieper. He is survived by his wife; daughter Christine (Jay) Powers; son Adam (Kim) Miller; grandchildren Luke, Eli, Madison, Olivia and Lydia; sisters Sharon (George) Snyder, Lea (Dave) Berry and Mary Kay (Jim) Richards; brothers Guy (Margie) Miller, Lloyd (Barb) Miller and Bobby Miller; and relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Guy Miller. Mr. Miller was an active member of Bethesda Evangelical Church in Lemay, Mo. Ida C. Kuergeleis nee Hesterberg, 77, of Waterloo, died May 14, 2004, at Red Bud. Mrs. Kuergeleis was married to the late Vernon Kuergeleis. She was born June 30, 1926, at Maeystown, the daughter of the late William F. and Ida M. Hesterberg nee Trost. She is survived by her son James (Debbie) Kuergeleis; grandchildren Daniel Kuergeleis and Mark Kuergeleis; sister Mildred Laub; brother Wilbert (Florence) Hesterberg; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers. Mrs. Kuergeleis was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo. Calvin E. Bode, 91, of Loudon, Ten., formerly of Waterloo, died May 16, 2004, at Loudon. Mr. Bode was married to June Bode nee McWilliams. He was born January 12, 1913, at Waterloo, the son of the late Louis and Frieda Bode nee Wiesenborn at Waterloo. He is survived by his wife; sons Dale Bode, Louis (Ellen) Bode, and Ronald (Pam) Bode; step-children Larry (Karen) Fritchley, Ron (Sandi) Fritchley and Sherri (George) Hanigan; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Floramye Bode nee Ries. Mr. Bode was a past Master of Masonic Lodge 32nd Degree Mason, past president of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce and former School Board Member. Norman E. Daniels, 95, of Waterloo, died May 16, 2004, at Waterloo. Mr. Daniels was married to Clara Daniels nee DeLisle. He was born June 14, 1908, at Belleville, the son of the late David and Nettie Daniels nee Huey. He is survived by children Ronald (Doylene) Daniels Sr., Ted (Pat) Daniels and Raymond Daniels; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Alvera “Tunie” Wildermuth, son Edward N. Daniels, brothers and a sister. Mr. Daniels was a former leader with the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union.
