Janice Lynn Bequette, 47, of Columbia died Feb. 3 [2004] at Canterbury Manor Nursing Center in Waterloo. She was the daughter of Helen (Toenjes) Bequette and the late Raymond Bequette. Survivors also include four sisters, Nancy Dailey, Pat (Fritz) Vogel, Kathryn (Adolph) Steppig and Sharon (Saleem) Odeh; two brothers, David Bequette and Stephen (Donna) Bequette; and other relatives and friends. Ms. Bequette was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society as well as Human Support Services. Visitation was at the Lawlor Funeral Home with a funeral Feb. 6 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Steve Gira officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
Marvin L. "Mac" McKinney, 74, of Waterloo died Feb. 1 [2004]. He was the husband of Darlene M. (Jones) McKinney nee Yehling. Mr. McKinney was born Feb. 28, 1929 at Edwardsville the son of the late Clarence L. and Della McKinney nee Van Hoosier. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Steve (Leslie) Jones, Randy (Sheri) Jones and Rick (Sue) Jones; a daughter Sandy (Tom) Bequette; a cousin Joy (Rich) Hunt; special niece Lynda (Charles) Williams; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Mr. McKinney was a member of the Maeystown Sportsman's Club, VFW Post 6504, the Fleet Reserve Association, a navy veteran of WWII as a submarine machinist mate at Iwo Jima, Korea and as a Vietnam observer. Visitation was at the Quernheim Funeral Home. Pastor Stuart Rethwisch presided at private funeral services.
Dima G. (Bowles) Bequette, 75, of Waterloo, died Nov. 3, 2011 at Oak Hill Care Center. She was born March 2, 1936, in Potosi, Mo., the daughter of the late Alonzo and Eunice (Owens) Bowles. She married Glenn Bequette in 1972 in Carrollton. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bequette is survived by her sons Rodney (Sherri) Duffy of Waterloo, Richard Duffy of Redding, Calif., and James (Tricia) Bequette of Kansas City, Mo.; granddaughter, Jessica Duffy of Waterloo; great-grandsons, Tyler and Ethan Toms; siblings Everett Bowles of Leona Valley, Calif.; Dollie Vogt of Waterloo and Ronnie (Alice) Bowles of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd F. Duffy; son, Randall Duffy; brother, Paul Bowles; and a sister, Juanita Bieber. Dima loved cooking, gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and dogs. Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Lawlor Funeral Home. Funeral is Monday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m., at Lawlors with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. Mrs. Bequette will be buried at the Palmier Cemetery. Joseph W. Davis, 52, of rural Fults, died Nov. 3, 2011 in Burksville following an automobile accident. He was born Dec. 15, 1958 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of John and Betty Davis. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Terri (nee Lawson) Davis; children Kristin (Marty) Waynick and Jessica Guzman; a grandson, Chance Guzman; brother, John R. (Terree) Davis; and sisters Barbara (Buddy) Hawkins, Robin (Mike) Gambino and Lucy (Steve) Andrews; along with sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Davis was self-employed in the concrete construction trade. Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral. Rose Mary Theresa Lutker, nee Miller, 84, of Waterloo, died Nov. 4, 2011 in Waterloo. She was born Oct. 20, 1927 in Waterloo, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Marie (nee Kramer) Miller. Mrs. Lutker is survived by her son, Denny (Becky) Lutker of Red Bud; and grandchildren Cari Lutker, Scott Miller and Christy Green; along with six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lutker; and a brother, Paul Miller. Mrs. Lutker attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo where she was involved in the Mary and Martha Society. Visitation is Monday, Nov. 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Raymond Leroy Baldridge, 63, of Millstadt, died Nov. 5, 2011 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville. He was born Aug. 7, 1948 in East St. Louis, the son of Marie Baldridge of Columbia and the late Robert Baldridge. Besides his mother, Mr. Baldridge is survived by his wife of 38 years, Catherine (nee Mokriakow) Baldridge; children, Dawn Baldridge of St. Louis, Mo., Jeremy (Rachel) Baldridge of Millstadt and Jon Baldridge of China; grandchildren, Carmen and Evan Baldridge of Millstadt; siblings Kenneth Baldridge of Florida, David (Paula) Baldridge of St. Louis, Mo., Dennis (Marianna) Baldridge of Columbia, Gary (Linda) Baldridge of Kansas City, Mo., Richard (Doris) Baldridge of Waterloo, Susan Link of Columbia, Bob (Dana) Baldridge of Missouri and Debbie Baldridge of St. Louis, Mo.; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill (Betty) Mokriakow of Waterloo, Leon (Esther) Mokriakow of Collinsville, George (Peggy) Mokriakow of Millstadt and Irene (Marc) Hurt of Hannibal, Mo.; along with 11 nephews, 13 nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to his father, Mr. Baldridge was preceded in death by his nephew, Michael Baldridge. Mr. Baldridge attended Faith Family Church in Shiloh. He was a retired electrician at Boeing. Mary Darlene Hale, 61, of Waterloo, died Nov. 6, 2011 in Waterloo. She was born April 4, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Hale is survived by her children, William Hale and Robert Hale (Kim Bark); a granddaughter, Alyssa Hale; half-sister, Ramona (John) Cotter; half-brother, Billy (Susan) Smith; step-sons David Hale and Mike Hale; step-grandson Jeremy Hale; and adopted mother, Mary Brewer; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her adopted father, William Brewer; and mother, Minnie Jean Payne. Visitation is Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quernheim Funeral Home. Louis J. Mueth, 78, of Hecker, died Nov. 6, 2011 in Belleville. He was born May 2, 1933 in Paderborn, the son of the late John A. & Matilda (nee Schaefer) Mueth. Mr. Mueth is survived by his wife of 56years, Pearl (nee Thompson) Mueth; children James Mueth and Jeffrey (Kimberly) Mueth; grandchildren Jacob Mueth and Emma Mueth; and a sister, Leona (Hubert) Ahring; along with sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three children in infancy; and sisters, Clara Steppig and Cleola Miller; along with brothers-in-law and sister-in-law. Mr. Mueth was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker. Funeral is Thursday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Hecker with Father Von Deeke officiating. Dona J. Tucker, nee Ford, 80, of Waterloo, died Nov. 6, 2011 in Waterloo. She was born April 14, 1931 in East St. Louis, the daughter of the late Henry and Beluah (nee Balltrip) Ford. Mrs. Tucker is survived by her children, Virginia (Don) Hefflinger, Lynn (Mark) Noe and Ann (Bruce) Kohnz; grandchildren Tommy Hefflinger, Andrew and Max Kohnz, and Emma Noe; and brothers Art (Pat) Ford and John (Maryellen) Ford; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Tom" Tucker. Mrs. Tucker attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Valmeyer. There was no service. Funeral arrangements were handled by Quernheim Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Stephen Gene Schneider, 59, of Columbia, died April 22, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. He was born Aug. 7, 1954, in Red Bud, the son of the late Gene and Mary (Asselmeier) Schneider. Stephen married Valerie (nee Clapper) Schneider in 1987 in St. Louis, Mo. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schneider is survived by a daughter, Jenna Schneider of Columbia; and a sister, Linda (Scott) Yancey of Waterloo along with nieces and nephews. Mr. Schneider was a farmer, a sign painter and had recently retired from Weekends Only in St. Louis. He had earned an architectural degree from the University of New Mexico. His favorite hobby was his toy farm tractor collection, and he always attended the National Farmer Toy Showcase in St. Louis, M. Stephen also enjoyed watching his daughter barrel race at local fairs. Visitation and funeral were at Lawlor Funeral Home with Pastor Kristofer Avise-Rouse officiating. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
