Julia M. Brookhart
Julia M. Brookhart, 84, Table Grove, died at 8:08 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital. She was born July 24, 1917, in Table Grove, the daughter of John H. and Eileen Howard Hulvey. She married Eldon L. Brookhart April 17, 1965, in Kahoka, Mo. He survives. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Raelene Griffith.
She was a graduate of the Peoria Beauty College and was a beautician for 50 years. She was a 55-year member of the Ipava Eastern Star, a member of the Table Grove American Legion Auxiliary 413 and a member of Table Grove Community Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at Table Grove Community Church, with the Rev. Frank Bush officiating. Burial was at Harris Cemetery, Table Grove. Memorials may be made to the Table Grove Legion Auxiliary #413 or the Table Grove Rescue Squad.
Elma Lou Davis
Elma Lou Davis, 72, Macomb, died at 8:37 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital.
She was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Glasgow, Mo., the daughter of Samuel E. and Polly Ballew Marshall. She married Robert W. “Bob” Davis on Nov. 7, 1948, in St. Louis. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Michael Davis, Highland; one daughter, Connie (Tony) Davis, Whitefish, Mont.; two grandsons, Jason Davis, Austin, Texas, and Nathaniel Davis, Abilene, Texas; and one brother, Marion Marshall, Fayette, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Samuel Marshall.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Macomb, a charter board member of the National Secretary Association and a former member of the McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Davis was a volunteer who helped transport cancer patients for out of town chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She was a graduate of Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Mo. She worked as the manager’s secretary for McDonough Power Co-op in Macomb for more than 25 years, before her retirement in 1989. She very much enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb. Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Auxiliary.
Frances E. Hanna
Frances E. Hanna, 51, of Jonesville, La., formerly of Galesburg and Abingdon, died at 3:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Riverland Medical Center, Ferriday, La.
She was born May 2, 1950 in Galesburg, the daughter of Donavan and Eileen Schisler Foutch. She married Rev. Dr. Jeff Hanna in Galesburg on Dec. 1, 1990. He survives.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, Donavan and Patricia Foutch, Watauga; two daughters, Kimberly Koller, Galesburg, and Annalisha Hanna at home, Jonesville, La.; one brother, Dwight (Pam) Foutch, Abingdon, two nephews, and two stepbrothers and two stepsisters.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1968.
She had worked in the Management Information Services office at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon.
She had lived in Louisiana since February of 2001.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001 at First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon with Rev. Todd Henderson and Rev. Bob Malone officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon.
Burial will be in the Vermont Cemetery, Vermont, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Harold Samuel Davis Jr.
A memorial service was held for Harold Samuel Davis Jr., 74, of Plymouth on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Sheyboygan Church of Christ with the Rev. Guy Marshall officiating.
Mr. Davis died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in St. Nicholas Hospital.
The son of the late Harold and Doris Davis, he was born July 24, 1927, in New Concord, Ohio. He graduated from Barnesville High School, Barnesville, Ohio, Class of 1945, enlisted in the U.S. Navy for three years of active duty and continued his military service as a reservist for 20 more years.
He married DeNelda Jervis on Aug. 23, 1952, in Fisher. He attended Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln and several other colleges during his lifetime and also served as a minister at various churches. Mr. Davis also served as a district executive director for the Boy Scouts of America in the Chicago area.
While a resident of Wild Rose, he became an award-winning chef. In 1977 he moved to the Sheboygan area, where he completed his career as an associate minister at the Sheboygan Church of Christ.
He leaves: a son, Robert Bruce (Elaine H.) Davis, Bancroft, Iowa; grandchildren, Melissa and Clinton Davis; a sister, Jane D. Adkisson of Roseville; and many nieces and nephews.
A son, John T. Davis, and two grandchildren, Angel and Sean, also preceded him death.
I. Dorean Lockwood
I. Dorean Lockwood, 79, of Prairie City died at 12:45 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb.
Born June 22, 1922, in Adair to James O. and Mazie Swise Smith, she married Stanley Smith. She later married W. Dale Lockwood. He died in 1986.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are five sons, Lee Brown of Trivoli, Carl Serven, Richard Atwater and Randy Atwater, all of Galesburg, and Dale Lockwood of Prairie City; four daughters, Irene Childers, of Galesburg, Ilene Archiball, Altona, Susanna Wheller, Abingdon, and Barbara Singleton, Prairie City; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Smith, Avon and Marvin Smith of Texas; and two sisters, Twilla Ferry of Galesburg and Doris Long of Good Hope.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Viola Cemetery in Viola with Rev. Terry Brody officiating.
Corman Memorial Home in Avon was in charge of the arrangements.
Jerry L. Bewley
Graveside services for Jerry L. Bewley, 61, were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. in the Aledo Cemetery. Trimble Funeral Home, Aledo, was in charge of arrangements and memorials may be made to the Roseville Cub Scouts Pack 336.
A former Aledo and Roseville resident, Mr. Bewley died on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Phoenix, Ariz.
A son of Jesse L. and Velma M (Mosley) Bewley, he was born May 8, 1940, in North Henderson Township, Mercer County. He was previously married to Gloria Baker.
Mr. Bewley was a veteran of the United States Army.
He leaves: two sons, Barry (Kimberly) Bewley of Roseville and Tim (Roberta) Bewley of Gladstone: a daughter, Becky (Derek) Bewley-Rush of Larkspur, Calif.; two grandsons, Justin and Lucas Bewley; a sister, Joyce (Bill) McKinley of Andalusia; four brothers, Richard (Darlene) Bewley of Coal Valley, C.Kenneth (Janice) Bewley of Gilbert, Ariz., Daryl (Mary Dale)
Bewley and Bill (Arlene) Bewley of Aledo; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Bewley, Aledo.
His parents and a brother Robert preceded Mr. Bewley in death.

Jaromila B. Maning
Jaromila B. Maning, 85, of Macomb, died at 10:18 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2001, at the Prairie City Nursing Center, Prairie City. She was born July 2, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of Ottokar and Mathilda Pech Marecek.
She is survived by one son, Steve Macejak, Macomb; one daughter, Joyce Justin, Oak Lawn; and 13 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She was a secretary for Central Steel and Wire in Chicago for many years.
Cremation rites were accorded. Memorial services will be held in Chicago at a future date.
Mary E. Bundy
A graveside service was held for Mary E. Bundy, 80, Roseville, on Monday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. in Carman Cemetery. The Rev. George Knox officiated.
Mrs. Bundy passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at 10:40 p.m. in Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Turnbull Funeral Homes, Monmouth, was in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund is being established.
The daughter of Charles and Sadie E. Ogden Waterman, she was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Hopper. She married John F. Bundy, Jan. 5, 1937, in Kahoka, Mo, who died Aug. 17, 1980.
Her parents, an infant daughter and a son, Charles Bundy, also preceded her in death.
She leaves: two daughters, Sadie (Donald) Streitmatter, Princeville and Jean (Richard) Klenk of Burlington, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bundy was a homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband.
Angus G. McKay
Angus G. McKay, 70, Macomb, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2001, at McDonough District Hospital. He was born April 29, 1931, in Aitkin, Minn., the son of Angus and Minnie Woodrow McKay. He married Theresa Ryan in 1965; she died in 1973.
He is survived by one sister, Verna Buchanan, Appleton, Wis., and one niece, Linda Corlew, in California. In addition to parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Theresa McKay, and one sister, Helen Futhey.
He was a Korean Army veteran and served in the Army Reserve for 12 years. He was a member of VFW Post 1921.
He came to Macomb in 1954. He was a painter with Schanbacher Church Decorating Co. in Springfield for 18 years.
Cremation rites were accorded. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.
