76-year-old Fairfield resident, Howard Johnson died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
Survivors include his wife, Imo; daughters, Linda Duncan of Albion, Mary Weaver of Salt Lake City, Utah, Patti Murphy of Ellery, and Gloria Waller of Flora; sons, Randy Johnson of Ogden, Iowa, Martin Johnson of Albion, and David Johnson of McLeansboro; a sister, Clara Marie Washburn of Oblong, and a brother, Herb Johnson of West Plains, Mo.; twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Memorial services for Howard T. Johnson will be 11:30 Friday, April 9, at Northside Baptist Church in Fairfield.
The body was cremated. The family will receive visitors at Northside Baptist Church in Fairfield at 10:30 Friday morning. The Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of all the arrangements.

Wilferd G. Schumm
83-year-old Wayne City resident, Wilferd G. Schumm died at 12:34 Monday afternoon, April 5, 2004 at the Mount Vernon Care Center in Mount Vernon, Ill. A veteran of WW II, He was a retired farmer and had worked for the Illinois Central Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Schumm of Wayne City; sons, Wilferd Dale Schumm of Wayne City and David Lynn Schumm of Keenes; daughters, Aramintha Carol Dixon of Bridgeport and Patricia Ann Arendale of St. Peters, Mo.; a brother, Floyd Charles Schumm of Bluford; a sister, Cevern Joan Bouchep of Centralia; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Services for Wilferd G. Schumm will be 2 p.m. Friday at East Hickory Hill Church in Bluford with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.
Carroll Hopson
85-year-old Benton resident, Carroll Hopson died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at Severin Intermediate Care Home in Benton. He was an Army Veteran of World War 2.
Survivors include twosons, Jerry Hopson of Centralia, IL and Richard Hopson of Roseville, CA; one brother, Paul Hopson of Mill Shoals, and three granddaughters, Janet, Anna & Lisa.

90-year-old former Cisne resident, Vadren E. Jones of Windermere, Fla., died at 11 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, Fla.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Weiler of Winermere, Fla.; a son, William Jones of Kuwait City, Kuwait; two sisters, Johnnie Reed of Abileene, Tx., and Imogene Coke of Lubbock, Tx.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Vadren E. Jones will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Cisne United Methodist Church with burial in Cisne Cemetery.

Former Fairfield resident, Kermit J. Kruger died Tuesday, June 15, 2004 in Metropolis. He had been in poor health since January.
While living in Fairfield a number of years ago, Kermit Mruger was manager of the Government Farm Loan Office4.
He is survived by a son, Richard and a daughter, Sally.

63-year-old Becky Campbell of Albion died at 4:14 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004 at the home of her daughter Kelli Huff in Albion.

Former Grayville resident, Steven Wayne Mosbarger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, died Monday, June 14th, 2004 in Colorado Springs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are his parents, Bob and Minnie Mosbarger, his wife Bonnie; a son, Greg Mosbarger, and a brother, Michael Mosbarger.
Steven Wayne Mosbarger's remains were cremated, and a memorial service was conducted in Colorado. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19th at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, with visitation beginning at noon Saturday, June 19th. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.

80-year-old Albion resident, Robert G. Lankford died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, a radio/gunner and a POW for 11 months.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Faye; two daughters, Tonya Brand of Linton, IN, Joselyn Heidinger of Albion; two sons, Robert E. Lankford of Evansville, IN and Danny J. Lankford of Albion, and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services for Robert G. Lankford will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Little Prairie Christian Church of Albion with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery south of Albion.

Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Hamic McVay Cloud of Haynesville, Louisiana; 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
