Raymond "Ray” Bayne
Raymond "Ray” Bayne, 57, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of Roseville, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at his home. Born in Monmouth, he moved from Illinois to Florida in 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bayne, Panama City; cousins Pam (Ed) Reed, Iowa, and Virginia (Charles) Conley, Panama City; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
He was employed as a greeter at Sam’s Wholesale Club. He had worked for a number of years at WKAI Radio in Macomb.
A memorial service was held Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel, Panama City, with the Rev. Danny Estes officiating.

Barbara A. Trego
Barbara Ann Trego, 67, Monmouth, died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1934, in Ray, the daughter of Ross and Mary Woodruff Richey.
She married Dean Ryner in November 1954 at Coldbrook Christian Church. She married Robert L. Trego Sr. on Nov. 24, 1973, in Oquawka. He died Feb. 16, 1998.
Surviving are her mother in Monmouth; one daughter, Jackie (Bill) Davis, Monmouth; three sons, Larry (Sue) Trego, and Robert (Barb) Trego, both of Monmouth, and Richard (Carol) Trego, Abingdon; two sisters, Bonnie (Kermit) Wainman, Galesburg, and Doris Ebbing, Osage Beach, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and one grandson.
She was reared and educated in the Roseville area and attended Roseville High School.
She owned and operated restaurants in Alexis and Monmouth. She worked at Bridgeway in Galesburg for 23 years, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2301 Auxiliary, Monmouth.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Horn officiating.
Burial was in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Lions League Baseball.
Margaret Mull Albert
Margaret (Midge) Mull Albert, 83, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Blandinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in Omaha after a long illness.
Margaret Elizabeth Mull was born just north of Blandinsville on Oct. 31, 1918, the youngest child of Glenn and Nettie Syblon Mull. She married Robert (Bob) Albert of Roseville in 1946. He died March 8, 1968.
She is survived by one sister, Mabel Maxine Francisco, Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Mary Askew and Betty Tate, both of Good Hope; loving nieces and nephews, Lana Isley, Omaha, Neb., Tom Francisco, Des Moines, Iowa, Mary Casey, Andalusia, Marti Belluschi, Chicago, Dick Mull, Ames, Iowa, Terry Askew, Henderson, Nev., Karen Ingledue, Rodney Tate, Janet Harwick and Kevin Tate, all of Macomb, Dennis Tate, Good Hope, and Jane Albert Fast and Kelly Albert, both of Jean, Nev.; and many grandnieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wright Mull, E.G. (Gus) Mull and John Mull.
She grew up in Blandinsville and spent her early adult years working at the post office. Following her marriage, she and her husband moved to Monmouth and Saginaw, Mich., because of his career in the Chamber of Commerce. Following his untimely death, Midge returned to live in Blandinsville with her mother for a short while. In 1969 she moved to Tuscon, Ariz., where she worked, first, at the Chamber of Commerce and then, as a government clerk. In 1991 she moved to Omaha, Neb., to be near her brother John. She was a resident at the Montclair Nursing and Rehab Center in Omaha for the past eight years. Midge will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her wonderful sense of style and fashion, and her love for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at the Clugston-Tibitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville, with the Rev. Stephen King officiating. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. Memorials may be made to either the Blandinsville United Methodist Church or the Montclair Nursing and Rehab Center, 2525 S. 135th Ave., Omaha, NE 68144.
Frank L. Clark
Frank L. Clark, 83, Colchester, died at 1:47 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1918, in Colmar, the son of Orval F. and Myrtle Pointer Clark. He married Vera E. Creasey on April 10, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Ronnie L. (Martha) Clark, Colchester; one daughter, Judy K. Easley, Colchester; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ina Van Fleet, Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Newell, Jesse, Gerald and Earl Clark; and one sister, Edna Post.
Mr. Clark was a retired welder for Coggshell Construction Co. and was self employed. He was a member of Colchester United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Argyle Antique Gas Engine Club.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester, with the Rev. Larry Lindow officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Colmar. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colchester Rescue Squad.
Albert L. Coplan
Albert L. Coplan, 69, Macomb, died at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Macomb, to John N. and Ella Robinson Coplan.
He married Lela Uitts on Sept. 9, 1952, in Colchester. She died March 11, 1990. He then married Dorothy Lewis Dec. 28, 1991, in Macomb. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, Randy (Kelly) Coplan, Colchester; seven daughters, Linda Sanderson, Carthage, Leann (Mitch) Brown, Macomb, Marcia (Charles) Savage, Davenport, Iowa, Nancy (David) Danielson, Tennessee, Jolene (Rory) Mason, Colchester, Karen (Mark) Henness, Plymouth, and Sharon (Jeff) Rusher, Macomb; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and four stepchildren, Daniel (Kay) Lewis, Canton, Mich., James (Sherri) Lewis, Eldridge, Iowa, Sara Espanda, Chapel Hill, N.C., and David (Sharon) Lewis, Sylvania, Ohio.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Eugene; and one granddaughter, Colette Danielson.
He was an inspector for Cooper industries in Macomb for 32 years, retiring in 1997. He farmed until his death.
He was in the Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the Macomb VFW and Colchester First Baptist Church.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at the Church of God, Abrahamic Faith in Macomb, with the Rev. Michael Brown officiating. Military rites were conducted at the grave by the Macomb VFW.
Jones Mortuary, Colchester, was in charge of arrangements. Burial was Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.
Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital or the Church of God.
Travis S. Hammond
Travis S. Hammond, 69, Plymouth, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday Nov. 15, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 21,1932, in Adair, the son of Kenneth and Wilma Swedell Hammond. He married Sharon Phillips on Dec. 27, 1994, in Doddsville. She survives. He is also survived by his mother; two daughters, Cristy Hammond, Dallas, Texas, and Michelle (Steve) Meredith, Adair; three sons, Michael T. (Joanna) Hammond, Tucson, Ariz., Mark Hammond, Macomb, and Mitch (Stacey) Hammond, Dallas, Texas; two stepdaughters, Teresa Huggins, Macomb, and Lori Jennings, Macomb; two stepsons, Christopher Huggins, Lakeland, Fla., and Brian (Joy) Huggins, Table Grove; one sister, Patricia (Robert) Rutledge, Adair; 20 grandchildren; and one step-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a farmer for most of his life, living in the Adair and Plymouth areas. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Adair Methodist Church and the Rushville VFW.
Cremation rites were accorded. A private family memorial service was held Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral home, Macomb, with the Rev. William Hesseldinz officiating. Private burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Oasis of Hope Hospital.
Donald E. Hocker
Donald E. Hocker, 87, of the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, formerly of Colchester, died at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Colchester, the son of Henry and Edna Stone Hocker. He married Ardith Sherman in 1964 in Colchester. She preceded him in death in 1989.
He is survived by one stepson, Neal Sherman, Kewanee; three nephews, Ray Hocker, Bartonville, Walter Hocker, Peoria, and D.J. Hocker, Colchester; two step-granddaughters, Stephenie and Jenney; and one aunt, Geraldine Baumgardner, Macomb.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Moscow; and one brother, Raymond Hocker.
He retired in 1979 from maintenance at King Seeley in Macomb. He was a member of the Carthage VFW and Colchester Masonic Lodge No. 496.
Masonic services were held Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Jones Mortuary in Colchester. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the mortuary, with Pastor Jim Richardson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Colchester, with military services at the grave conducted by the Carthage VFW. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
Paulette M. Kretzschmar
Paulette M. Kretzschmar passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at McDonough District Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001.
Paulette is survived by her husband, Blaise Kretzschmar; daughter Mimi Kretzschmar, son-in-law, Henri Mayronnet, and grandson, Andre Meyronnet; daughters Beatrice Kretzschmar, Sylviane Kretzschmar Stites, Nathalie Jeglin and son-in-law Harlan Jeglin, and long-time friend, Michael Riordon. The family in France includes an aunt, Marguerite Wappler; cousins Henri Wappler and Roger Wappler; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene Zentz-Kretzschmar, Claude and Nicole Kretzschmar, Anne and Jean Desmaizieres, Claire Kretzschmar, Jean Pierre and Marielle Kretzschmar, and their families.
A visitation was held Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home; a private service followed.
The family requests that memorials be made in Paulette’s name to McDonough District Hospital.
Margaret ‘Midge’ Mull Albert
Funeral services for Margaret ‘Midge’ Mull Albert, 83, Omaha, Neb., were held Thursday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Blandinsville. Interment was in Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville.
A former resident of Monmouth and Blandinsville, Mrs. Albert died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in Omaha, Neb. Memorials may be left to the Blandinsville United Methodist Church of the Montclair Nursing Nursing and Rehab Center, 2525 S. 135th Ave., Omaha, Neb. 68144.

Mrs. Albert grew up in Blandinsville and worked the post office. Following her marriage, the couple moved to Monmouth, then to Saginaw, Mich., until her husband's death in 1968. She then returned to Blandinsville for a time and moved to Tucson, Ariz. in 1969, where she was employed until 1991. In that year she moved to Omaha, Neb., where for the past eight years she resided at the Montclair Nursing and Rehab Center.
She will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her wonderful sense of style and fashion and her love for family and friends.
