70 year old Somerville, Texas resident, formerly of Flora, Peggy Clark Milam, died at 6:17 a.m. Thursday, July 1st, 2004 at Cornerstone Hospital in Austin, Texas.
Surviving are her husband Neal; 2 daughters, Theresa Workman of Flora and Brenda Tatum of Geff; 2 brothers, Robert P. Clark of Springfield, Il. and James F. Clark of Blytheville, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Peggy Clark Milam will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7th at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery at Flora.

Harry S. Silliman
85 year old Crossville resident, Harry S. Silliman, died Friday, July 2nd, 2004 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He was a WW II and Korean War Navy veteran.
Surviving are a son, Stephen of Roachdale, Indiana; a step-son, Doug Stucky of Carmi; and 4 grandchildren.
The body was cremated, and a gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. The Cook Funeral Chapel in Crossville is in charge of the arrangements.

75 year old Grayville resident, Margaret Keller, died Friday, July 2nd, 2004 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville. She was a retired glass worker.
Surviving are a son, Anthony Tomasetti of Grayville; 2 brothers, Clark W. and Paul M. Keller, both of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

71-year-old Rt. 2 Dahlgren resident, Alvin L. Stitch died at 7:20 Wednesday evening, June 30, 2004. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Stitch; sons, Kelly Dean Stitch of Dahlgren and Anthony Stitch of Bonnie, Il., a step-son, Barry Marquis of Saco, Mo., daughters, Pam Ford of Moount Vernon and Stacey Keen of Dahlgren; a special friend, Eric Clark; sisters, Bernetta Rapp ofDahlgren and Helen Clements of Palatine, Il., ten grandchildren also survive.

89-year-old Geff resident, Helen E. Merrick Coverstone Farmer died at 3:38 Thursday morning, July 1, 2004, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She was a machine operator at General Motors in Flint MIchigan for ten years. She also worked at Wabash Area Development, Inc. for four years and at Way-Fair Nursing Home in Fairfield for four years.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin Farmer of Geff; a step-son, Gerald Farmer of Chillicothe, Ill., 18 nieces and 8 nephews, plus four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

83-year-old Mount Erie native, Dorothy Maxine Borah Scherer of Walnut Creek Californiadied at 8:50 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004 in the John Murrah Hospital in Walnut Creek, Calif. She had worked for the Bond Department of the U.S. Treasury in Chiago and taught Social Studies, Biology and P.E. at the high school level in Brownstown, Il., and Olney, Ill.
Survivors include three sons, Stephen Eugene Scherer of Bel-Air, Calif., Phillip Edward Scherer of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Joseph Arthur Scherer of Oakland, Calif. Four grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Dorothy Maxine Borah Scherer will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at the West United Methodist Church in Mount Erie with burial in the Church Cemetery.

95-year-old former Dahlgren resident, Ruby Holt died at 8:15 Saturday morning, June 26, 2004 at the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Fla. She had owned and operated Mound City Furniture Store in Mount Vernon for many years, and from 1960 until 1984, she served as Administrative Assistant for the Easter Seal Society in Atlanta, Georgia.
Survivors include daughtrs, Joyce Pickering of Arlinigton, Va., and Rozan Kuenz of Orlando, Fla., nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was a retired repairman, working 32 years with Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville, Indiana. He also was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam conflict.
