William "Harry" Midgett, 73, of Windsor, formerly of Rodanthe, NC, died Thursday (July 12, 2001)
in Windsor.
Funeral services and burial will be held Monday July 16, 2001 in Rodanthe, NC. Local arrangements by Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor.
Mr. Midgett was born in Waves, NC, the son of the late St. Clair and Mamie (Midgett) Midgett and the husband of Eunice Knight Midgett of Rodanthe, NC. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Connie Mae Hatcher of Middleburg, FL., Virginia Charlene O'Neal of Rodanthe, NC, and Joyce Marie Midgett of Windsor; four sons, William Edward Midgett of Orange Park, FL., Harry Stanley Midgett of Potomac Falls, VA, Irvin Lee Midgett of Rodanthe, NC and Timothy Richard Midgett of Windsor; three sisters, Lennie Midgett of Rodanthe, NC, Jennetta Williams of Elizabeth City, NC and Alice Bundy of Norfolk, VA; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was a retired U.S. Navy Chief ADRC with 22 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post 04226, Fleet Reserve A03422, and the Fairhaven United Methodist Church.
Robert Morrison

Robert E. Morrison, 80, Sigel, died Monday (July 16, 2001) in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham..
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Grace United Methodist Church, Neoga. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, and one hour before service in the church. Burial will be at Coons Cemetery, Shelby County. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association.
Mr. Morrison was born Aug.. 25, 1920 in Pana, the son of William A. and Stella (Pierpont) Morrison. He married Betty June Fried Aug. 21, 1943 in Assumption. She died Feb. 3, 1995.
Surviving are son, Garry of Sigel; daughter, Karen Skatoff of Reston, Va.; sister, Helen Valentine of Panama City, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by wife, Betty June; five brothers; and one sister.
He was a retired farmer. He also was a D.H.I.A. Milk Tester for 28 years in Effingham. He was a member of the Shelby County Farm Bureau and attended the Grace United Methodist Church if Neoga.
Jessie Thrall

Jessie Louise Thrall, 69, Topeka, Kan., mother of Larry Thrall, Shelbyville, died Sunday (July 15, 2001) at Woodlawn Nursing Center, Topeka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18 at Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be at Hutsonville Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Psoriasis Foundation.
She was born June 9, 1932 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Herbert Maglone and Bertha Bearley Maglone. She married Lawrence Thrall May 3, 1955. He survives.
She is also survived by her 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry & Cheryl Thrall of Shelbyville, and Tom Thrall of Topeka, KS; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Edward Lancaster of Olney, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Thrall of Shelbyville, Robert Goff of Noble, Kimberly Lancaster of Olney, and Amanda Lancaster of Olney; three great grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Maglone of Olney; five sisters, Shirley Houser, Albion, IL, Delores Black of Michigan, Nancy Withiem of Robinson, Donna Dunlap of Robinson, and Sandra Pinkston of Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Pamela Montgomery; sister, Juanita Montgomery; and brother, Herb Maglone.
She was a homemaker.
Myrtle Banning

Myrtle F. Banning, 90, of Shelbyville died at 3:25 p.m. Monday (July 16, 2001) in the Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday July 18 in the Lockart & Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
She was born June 3, 1911 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Orlie Leroy and Josephine Shumbarger Hill. She married Lee Banning July 6, 1966 in Shelbyville. He preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1996.
Surviving are step-son, James Banning of Carpentersville; step-daughter, Maryann Eddy of Pana; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughters Jean Winings and Lena Miller.
Mary Kensil

Mary L. Kensil, 84, of Shelbyville, died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2001) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with the Rev. Cathy Minor officiating. Visitation from 5-8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or Habitat for Humanity in Shelby County.
Mrs. Kensil was born on Aug. 2, 1916 in Windsor, the daughter of Amon Lawrence and Myrtle Estella Blue Ross. She married Dexter J. "Judd" Kensil on Jan. 18, 1948 in Fayette County. He died on March 3, 1971.
Surviving are her son, Dave Kensil and wife Patti of Shelbyville; daughter, Susie Kensil and companion Chip Reider of Shelbyville, grandchildren, Mary Jo Adams and husband Greg, James R. Killam, Jr., Michael D. Killam and wife Daphne, Carissa Brownback and Andrea Brownback; great grandchildren; Casaundra Killam, Caitlyn Killam, Megan Fox and Ethan Cole Brownback; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Bob, Ronald and Gerald Ross; and two sisters, Thelma Gannaway and Evelyn Mousseau.
She was a 1934 graduate of Windsor High School and was a cook at Olivewood Health Care Center for ten years and later cooked for the Rotary and Lions Clubs, all of Shelbyville. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church near Shelbyville where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.
Anna Harrington

Anna Marie Harrington, 92, Stewardson, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday (July 17, 2001).
Private family services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials can be made to donor's choice.
She was born Dec. 10, 1908, the daughter of George Adam Brummerstedt and Emma (Quast) Brummerstedt. She married Charles Harrington in 1949.
Surviving are eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by parents; husband, Charles, three brothers; and two sisters.
She was a teacher at Stewardson Grade School until she retired.
Helen Jackson

Helen Jackson, 96, of Shelbyville, formerly of Fairbury, died Wednesday (July 18, 2001) at Shelbyville Manor.
Funeral services in Pontiac and burial in Fairbury will be held Monday, July 23. Local arrangements by Lockart and Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Jackson was born on April 17, 1905 in Lucas, Ky., the daughter of James B. and Joyce Henderson Hurt. She married Herbert Jackson on Dec. 10, 1927 in Jeffersonville, Ind. He died Nov. 8, 1955.
Surviving are a daughter Sara J. Stiver of Shelbyville; three grandchildren, Jill Lacheta and husband Ed of Shelbyville, Jeff Stiver and wife Kathy of Apple Valley, Cal., and Jim Stiver and wife Kirby of Elk Grove, Cal., five great-grandchildren Nathan and Ryan Lacheta, Jacob, Logan and Jessica Stiver.
Mrs. Jackson was employed by Fairbury Hospital Dietary Dept. from 1958 -1980. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Shelbyville Manor for the care and compassion shown to her the past five years.
Marilyn Goddard
Chatham
Marilyn Goddard, 60, Chatham, died at 2:52 a.m. Saturday (July 21, 2001).
Services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. in Calvert and Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, and one hour prior at the church. Burial was in Virden Cemetery, Virden.
She was born Jan. 27, 1941 in Shelby County, the daughter of Melvin Rincker and Josephine Kearney. She married David G. Goddard Aug. 27, 1960 in Strasburg. He survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Karen D. (Larry) DeFevers of Virden and Angie M. (Todd) Hasara of Virden; grandchildren, Lindsey N. DeFevers, Dylan M. DeFevers, Breanna G. Hasara, and Emily J. Hasara; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
Mrs. Goddard was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Chatham, She attended Sparks Business college in Shelbyville and worked various substitute positions in the Girard and Atwood-Hammond School District.
Alice Zindel

Alice May Zindel, 98, of Moweaqua died 4:05 p.m. Tuesday (July 24, 2001) in Moweaqua Nursing and Retirement Center.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua, with the Revs. Tom Black and Charles Jacob officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials can be made to Fame Evangelical Church Mission Fund.
Mrs. Zindel was born Feb. 25, 1903, in Moweaqua, the daughter of James A. and Hallie Johnston Lambdin. She was a 90 year member of Fame Evangelical Church and formerly taught Sunday school. She was a former member of Christian County Home Extension and a former school teacher. She married Herman F. Zindel Sept.. 8, 1926, in Taylorville. He preceded her in death Dec. 16, 1963.
Surviving are her sons, James and wife Helen of Decatur; Herman and wife Barbara of Moweaqua; C. Richard and wife Carol of Gurnee; daughters, Elizabeth and husband Herbert Teichman of EauClaire, Mich.; Evelyn and husband Robert Schmitz of Carlinville; daughter-in-law, Mary Zindel of Moweaqua; sister, Delsie Tippett of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Ralph; infant son and two brothers.
