Woodrow "Woody" Tyler

86 year old West Salem resident, Woodrow "Woody" Tyler passed away at 3:45am Sunday, March 6th, 2005, at Burgin Manor in Olney. He was retired as shipping clerk from Braznell Ink Company in St. Louis after 30 years and a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife Camilla "Billie" Tyler; 3 daughters Mollie Sue Balding of Mission Viejo, CA, Anita Dickison of Lehigh, FL, and Glory Mooberry of Lehigh, FL; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30am Thursday, March 10th, at Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem. Burial will be in Moravian Cemetery in West Salem with full military rites. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, March 9th, at Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem.

Memorials may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church, Jack Allen Road, West Salem, IL 62476.

Ingram Funeral Home of West Salem is in charge of the arrangements.

Alice Mabel Mitchell

93-year-old Alice Mabel Mitchell died at 6:34 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, at the Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial at Union Cemetery in Dahlgren.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Bernard "Boom" Wells

80-year-old Grayville resident, Bernard "Boom" Wells died Wednesday morning, January 19, 2005, at his home. A WW II Army veteran, he was retired from the City of Grayville.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, a son, Jack Wells; and a step-son, Ronnie Wilson of Grayville; two daughters, Barbara Moore of Mount Carmel and Sue Wolfe of West Salem; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services for Bernard "Boom" Wells were at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21st at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville with military rites.

There was no visitation.

The Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville was in charge of tha arrangements.

Jack Clodfelter

70 year old Calhoun, Il. resident and Wayne County native, Jack Clodfelter, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18th, 2005 at his home. He had worked at Champion Labs, and was a retired veteran serving for 20 years in the U.S. Army Security Agency. He was also a member of the Olney and Mt. Carmel Radio Clubs.

Surviving are his wife Louise; 2 sons, Howard of Olney and David of Springfield, Il.; 4 grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Jack Clodfelter were at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21st at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem. Burial in Moravian Cemetery with military rites at the graveside.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20th at the Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem.

Memorials may be made to the Zion United Methodist Church of West Salem or Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.

Gertrude Wright

88 year old Springfield, Il. resident, formerly of Wayne City, Gertrude Wright, died at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15th, 2005 in Springfield, Il. She was a retired garment factory worker.

Surviving are 2 sons, Don of Gallipolis, Ohio and Mickey of Newburgh, Indiana; 2 daughters, Merlene Stengele and Barbara Johnston both of Springfield, Il.; a sister, Jean Keaton of Campbellsville, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Gertrude Wright were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19th at the Heartland Funeral Home in Monticello, Kentucky. Burial in Mills Springs, Kentucky.

Visitation was after 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17th at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.

Juanita Atkinson

70 year old Geff resident, Juanita Atkinson, died at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16th, 2005 at her home. She had been a secretary at the Extension Service Office.

Survivors include her mother, Lily Jones of LeRoy, Ill.; two sons, Dana Atkinson of Blue Mound, Il., and Devon Atkinson of Brownsburg, Ind.; two daughters, Debra Anderson of Geff and Diane Woodrow of Cisne; four brothers, Shorty Jones of Bloomington, Il., Lenny, Butch and Joe Jones, all of Downs, Il.; three sisters, Frankie Whitlock of Minier, Ill., and Jerri Barron and Jan Brown both of LeRoy, Ill; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Juanita E. Atkinson were 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, at the Geff United Methodist Church with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery at Fairfield.

Visitation was from 6 til 8:30 Tuesday evening, January 18, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the Geff United Methodist Church Music Fund.

Ralph "Fuzz" Aydt

69 year old McLeansboro resident, Ralph "Fuzz" Aydt, died at 4:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17th, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Il. He was a Laborer for Laborers International Union of North America #1197 in McLeansboro, and was an avid hunter.

Survivors include his lifelong companion, Virginia Allen of McLeansboro; a sister, Florence Bond of Piopolis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 9 step-children, and 5 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ralph "Fuzz" Aydt were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20th at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery at Piopolis.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19th at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Doris E. Price

86-year-old Albion resident, Doris E. Price died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She had been a seamstress at Johnny Mfg. for 37 1/2 years.

Survivors include a niece, Cheryl Taylor of Albion; nephews, L.D. Price of St. Louis and Roger Price of Tulsa, Ok., a special friend and care giver, Betty Hall of Evansville, Ind., and several cousins.

A memorial service for Doris E. Price was held on Wednesday, January 19 at the Christ Chapel Church at 201 Graham Avenue in Evansville. Visitation was from 1 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Cervice at 2 p.m..

Funeral Services for Doris E. Price are at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 20, at Nales Funeral Home in Albion with burial in West Cemetery at Mount Erie.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service, Thusday, Jan. 20, at Nales Funeral Home in Albion.

Memorials may be made to Christ Chapel Church.

Robert L. Payne

69-year-old Flora resident, Robert L. Payne died at 12:59 Monday morning, January 17, 2005, at Good Samaritan Regional Hospital in Mount Vernon. He had been an auto body repairman.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Payne of Flora; six sons, Rodney of Flora, Robin of Rinard, Dale Hatcher of Flora, Mike Hatcher of Johnsonville, and Leo Hatcher of Rinard; three daughters, Lisa Payne of Rinard, Loretta Payne of Flora and Joann Coble of Xenia; a brother, Leon Sharp of Louisville, Il.; a sister, Dorothy Jean McWilliams of Olney; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Robert L. Payne were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 19 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with burial in Hanna Cemetery at Noble.

Visitation was after noon Wednesday, Jan. 19, until the time of service at the Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.

Alice Black

95 year old McLeansboro resident, Alice Black, died at 7:48 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16th, 2005 at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro.

Surviving are 3 nieces, Sue James of Eldorado, Mildred Minderman of Vincennes, Indiana and Aileen Beauchamp of La Porte, Texas; and a nephew, John Mansell of Denton, Texas.

Funeral services for Alice Black were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18th at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial in Oddfellows Cemetery at McLeansboro.

Visitation was from 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18th until the time of service at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Ronald K. Olson

63 year old Fairfield resident, Ronald K. Olson, died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16th, 2005 at his home. He was a retired Airtex worker.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn; 3 sons, Eugene and Troy both of Fairfield and James of Olney; and 1 grandchild.

Funeral services for Ronald K. Olson were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18th at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial in Brown Cemetery at Mt. Erie.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17th at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield.
