88-year-old Wayne City resident, Burl Melton died at 7:45 Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, 2005, at Wayfair Restorium in Fairfield. He was a retired laborer.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Melton of Wayne City; a step-son, William Bill March of Centralia; daughters, Peggy Marie Mays of Wayne City, Vickey Shaw of Wayne City and Connie Powe of Mount Vernon; a brother Lowell Melton of Mount Vernon; 11 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Services for Burl Melton were 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with burial in Thomason Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6 til 8 Wednesday evening, Feb. 9, at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.
Aloha Mae Andrews
71 year old McLeansboro resident, Mrs. Aloha Mae Andrews, died at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5th, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She had been a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, William D. Andrews; daughters, Lawanda Rubenacker of McLeansboro, Janet Michael of McLeansboro and Sheri Rigsby of Detroit, Mi., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services for Aloha Mae Andrews were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Bement Township Cemetery at Bement, Ill.
Visitation was at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
James Eldon Nunn
79 year old James Eldon Nunn died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 6th, 2005 at a residence in Jasper Township. A WW II veteran, he drove a school bus for Jasper Grade School for 16 years and had also been a farmer.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Janet Campbell and Julie Stevens both of Fairfield; 2 brothers, Roscoe Nunn of Memphis, Tennessee and Howard Nunn of Chicago, Il.; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James Eldon Nunn were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery with full military rites at the gravesite.

84 year old Carmi resident, Ruth King, died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5th, 2005 at White County Medical Center in Carmi.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Judy Fields of Carmi, Linda Masters of Malvern, Ohio and Anna Lou Simmons of Morton, Il.; 3 sisters, Eva Jackson, Freda Reed and Fairy Taylor all of Fairfield; 2 brothers, Walter Thackrey of Columbia, Il. and Lowell Thackrey of Carmi; a sister-in-law, Cleo Thackrey of Robinson, Il.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Ruth King were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9th at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.

Dorothy A. "Dot" Price
79 year old Olney resident, Dorothy A. "Dot" Price , died at 5 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 5th, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She had worked as a comptroller for General Telephone Company in Bloomington, Il.
Surviving are a brother, Lowell Mason of Los Angeles, California; 4 sisters, Edris Fann of Clarinda, Iowa, Jane Evans of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Waive Shields of Clarinda, Iowa and Lee Bailey of Littleton, Colorado; a niece, Cheryl Taylor of Albion; a nephew, and a nephew, Scott Taylor of Albion.
Funeral services for Dorothy A. "Dot" Price were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8th at the 1st United Methodist Church in Olney. Burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8th until the time of service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Association.

Dale Locke
85 year old Fairfield resident, Dale Locke, died at 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5th, 2005 at White County Hospital in Carmi. He had been a janitor at the former Wayne County Bank.
Survivors include his wife, Zelma, two sons, L.D. Locke of Wayne City and Mike Locke of Fairifeld; three daughters, Ruth Craig of Calhoun, Il., Charlotte and Sue Dye, both of Fairfield; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dale Locke were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation were from noon Tuesday until the time of service at Nalels Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Gene A. McDowell
72-year-old rural Fairfield resident, Gene A. McDowell died at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2nd, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie; two sons, Larry McDowell of Indianapolis, IN and Daniel McDowell of Winston Salem, NC; one brother, Gary McDowell ob Newburgh, IN; a sister, Shirley Harris of Poplar Bluff, MO; 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 foster grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
The body was cremated with a memorial services to be held at a later date.

William Hall Pulliam
83-year-old West Frankfort resident, William Hall Pulliam died at 10:20 Monday evening, January 31, 2005, at Good Shephard Nursing Home in Galatia, Ill. A U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, he retired as an iron worker with the Iron Workers Local 396 after 43 years.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Marie Pulliam; sons, John Stanford Pulliam of West Frankfort and James Pulliam of Poseyville, Indiana; step-daughters, Sharon Kay Kimberley of Tierra Verde, Florida and Linda Diane Foder of Mission Texas; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren also survive, along with a sister, Mildred L. Pulliam of Mission, Viejo, California and a nephew, Trent Pulliam of Redlands, Calif.
Services for William Hall Pulliam were at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at the Hill Baptist Church near Broughton with burial in the Hickory Hill Cemetery at Broughton.
Visitation was 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, until the time of service at the church. There was a Masonic Service at 12:30 p.m. by the Tuscon Lodge N. 630.

Roxie Faye Prince
71-year-old Carmi resident, Roxie Faye Prince died at 7:44 Sunday evening, January 30, 2005, at the White County Medical Center in Carmi. Along with her husband, she was co-owner and manager of UTEX Drilling Company in Duchesne, Utah.
Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Prince; sons, William Wade Prince of Mount Carmel; a daughter, Monica Jessen of Altamont, Utah; a brother, Murrell Dean Smith of Ashboro, North Carolina; a sister, Betty Bertucci of Westchester, Ill., and five grandchildren.
Services for Roxie Faye Prince were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in the White County Memorial Gardens at Carmi.
Visitation was noon Thursday until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Louie Lagreco
A former Fairfield resident and businessman, 84 year old Louie Lagreco, died early Saturday, Jan. 29th, 2005 in Bradenton, Florida. He had been in poor health for several months, in a nursing home, and had operated the Fairfield Drive-In Theatre and a hardware store a number of years ago. He also was active in the Masonic Lodge and was an Extra Class Ham Operator.
Among his survivors is his wife Dotty.
Funeral services for Louie Lagreco will be Tuesday, Feb. 1st at the West View Chapel of the Shannon Funeral Home in Bradenton, Florida.
William "Bill" Grimes
67-year-old Albion resident, William "Bill" Grimes died at 4:45 Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2005, at his home.
Among his survivors is his wife, Virginia of Albion, daughters, Sue White of Colonial Heights, Va., and Nancy Grimes of Menasha, Wisconsin; a special friend, Darrell Cannon of Fairfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for William "Bill" Grimes were 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at the Johnson funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m. at the Maple Lawn Park Cemetery at Paducah, Ky.

Opal Tyree
90-year-old Fairfield resident, Opal Tyree died at 7:35 Monday evening, Feb. 28, 2005, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Beckel of Cisne and Martha Mason of Fairfield; one son, Ben Tyree, Jr. of Fairfield; a sister Blanche Allen of Baker, Louisiana, a brother, Charles Anderson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Opal Tyree were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at the Jesus Name United Pentecostal Church in Fairfield. Burial at Richland Cemetery.
