SULLIVAN - Thomas B. Tipsword, 52, of rural Sullivan, died Thursday afternoon (July 6, 2000) at his residence.
Ellen Harrmann
PANA - Ellen Louise Harrmann, 96, of Pana, formerly of Springfield, died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday (July 4, 2000) in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital in Taylorville.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Dean Stolz officiating. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery, Strasburg. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She was born March 23, 1904, near Windsor, the daughter of Adam and Henriette Mueller Harrmann.
She was raised by Mrs. Ernest (Anna) Doehring.
Surviving are two cousins, Retha Brehmer of Strasburg and Lona Wittenberg of Stewardson.
Ms. Harrmann retired from Sangamo Electric in Springfield and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Springfield.
Keith Jackson
GREENUP - Keith A. "Jack" Jackson, 46, of Greenup, died at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at his residence.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Barkley Funeral Home in Greenup with the Rev. Jere McSparran officiating. Burial will be in Aten Cemetery, Hidalgo. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born March 6, 1955, in Mattoon, the son of Clyde and Roberta (Green) Jackson.
He married Patricia Freeman in 1986; she survives.
Also surviving are his father, Clyde Jackson of Hidalgo; three daughters, Tammy Davidson of Greenup, Stacy Jackson of Casey and Laura Jackson of Greenup; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Jackson worked at Fedders Corporation of Effingham and was a member of the Hidalgo Baptist Church.
Grace Misner
ANNAPOLIS - Grace Irene Misner, 83, of rural Annapolis, died at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday (July 4, 2000).
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Greenwell Funeral Home, Martinsville, with the Rev. George Nika and the Rev. David Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in the Willow Prairie (Dugan) Cemetery, Crawford County.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today.
She was born March 7, 1917, in Licking Township, Crawford County, the daughter of Francis and Laura Misner Hart.
She married Darrell Eugene Misner in 1934; he died in 1970.
Surviving are one son, James Misner of Annapolis; two daughters, Martha Louise Weger of Robinson and Marjorie Burris of Leesburg, Fla.; one brother, Homer Hart of Oblong; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Misner was a member of the Martinsville Bible Church.
Zelma A. Niccum
MATTOON - Zelma A. Niccum, 86, of Mattoon, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at Convalescent Care Center.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
She was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Decatur, Ark., daughter of John Walter and Rosetta Davis Peterson.
She married Rufus Niccum in 1935; he died in 1963.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Branscum of Greenup and Sally Niccum of San Antonio; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Niccum was a member of Mattoon Christian Church.
She had worked as a seamstress at Mattoon Garment Factory and also the Brown Shoe.
