89-year-old Keensburg resident, Melvin Patton died at 4:12 Monday morning, Feb. 28, 2005, at his home.
Survivors include 3 sons, Melvin Patton of Dubois, IN, Ed Patton of Mt. Carmel, and Thurman Patton on Keensburg, IL, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Melvin Patton were at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 3 at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion with burial at Bethel Cemetery at Bellmont, IL.

Gladys W. Patterson
91-year-old West Salem resident, Gladys W. Patterson died Sunday evening, February 27, 2005, at her home in West Salem.
Survivors include a son, Myles Patterson of West Salem; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Patterson.
Graveside services for Gladys W. Patterson were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Haven Hill Cemetery at Olney.

David Hollinger
57 year old Fairfield resident, David Hollinger, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26th, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville. He had been a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Sue of Fairfield; a daughter, Carol Hughes of West Frankfort; sons, Don Walker and Ron Walker, both of Fairfield; a sister, Shirley McDavid of Fairfield; and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services for David Hollinger were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the King City Church of God in Mt. Vernon, IL with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Bernita Thompson
84 year old Fairfield resident, Bernita Thompson, died early Sunday morning, Feb. 27th, 2005 at the Enfield Healthcare Center. She had worked at Airtex Products for many years and was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dorsey, several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Foley of Springerton and Frances Foley of Peoria.
Funeral services for Bernita Thompson were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the Elledge Funeral Home in Enfield with burial in Hammack Cemetery at Springerton.
Visitation was from 6 til 8 Tuesday evening, March 1, at the Elledge Funeral Home in Enfield.

Bert B. Lavine
82 year old former Fairfield resident, Bert B. Lavine, died Friday evening, Feb. 25th, 2005 at his home in Olney. A veteran of WW II, he had been a pattern maker for Deere and Company, having retired in 1974.
Surviving are his wife Wanda; 5 sons, Gary of Noble, Bert Jr. of Johnsonville, Jeff of Olney, Tom of Fairfield and Alan of Davenport, Iowa; 2 daughters, Betty Shearer of Moline, Il. and Chris Gillard of Mt. Erie; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bert B. Lavine were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, the Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary in East Moline, Il. with burial at the Rock Island Arsenal.

84 year old Carmi resident, formerly of Mill Shoals, Thelma Rister, died at 10:38 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26th, 2005 at White County Medical Center in Carmi.
Surviving are a daughter, Pat Vaught of Mill Shoals; a son, Larry Rister of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; 2 sisters, Louise Winter of Carmi and Nola Higginson of Mt. Vernon, Il.; a sister-in-law, Gladys Scudamore of Carmi; a brother, Raymond Scudamore of Carmi; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

88 year old Columbus, Ohio resident, formerly of Dahlgren, Frank E. Hicks, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15th, 2005 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was a retired propane business owner.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Hicks of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Taylor of Paxton, Il.; a brother-in-law, Harold Little of Larkspur, Colorado; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Richard Rubenacker
70-year-old McLeansboro resident, Richard Rubenacker died at 4:15 Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 23, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Along with his family, he operated a grain farm in the Hamilton County area, and owned Hamilton County Equipment in McLeansboro, and White County Equipment in Carmi, area Case IH Dealerships. He also served on the Peoples National Bank Board of Directors and Wayne-White Counties Electric Cooperative Board.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Margarette; sons, Randy, Terry and Rodney of Carmi; sisters, Bernice Dolan, Virginia Rubenacker and Alice Kreher all of Mt. Vernon, Il.; and 6 grandchildren.
A funeral mass for Richard Rubenacker was held at at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. Burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation was after 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25th at St. Clement Catholic Church in McLeansboro.
