BUFFALO GROVE - Tony Winnett, 36, of Buffalo Grove, formerly of Charleston, died Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2000) in Round Lake Beach.
Burial will be in the Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 30, 1964, in Charleston, the son of Roy and Joyce Winnett.
He married Donna Mau in 1991; she survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Joyce Burton of Minonk and his father, Roy Winnett of Metamora; one son, Trevor Winnett; one daughter, Alyssa Winnett; one brother, Jason Winnett of Springfield; and two sisters, Gina Winnett of Medford, Ore., and Heather Tull of Springfield.
Mr. Winnett was a driver for Nabisco Foods.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Mildred Gwinn
OAKLAND - Mildred E. Gwinn, 83, of Oakland, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday (Aug. 21, 2000) at the Paris Community Hospital.
Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
He was born April 11, 1917, in Kansas, the daughter of E.J. and Mabel Nay Coffey.
She married Wilber T. Gwinn in 1943; he died in 1976.
Surviving are one son, Tom Gwinn of Paris; three daughters, Elizabeth Russell of Canyon Lake, Texas, Barbara Jividen of Haughton, La., and Debbie Braune of Jacksonville, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Gwinn was a foster mother to nearly 20 children and provided a child care for others.

Leonard Horn
BROWNING, Mo. - Leonard Edward Horn, 83, of Browning, Mo., formerly of Mattoon, died Sunday (Aug. 20, 2000) at his home.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, Mo.
He was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Mattoon, the son of William J. and Margaret Engle Horn.
He married Ethel Pauline Miller in 1935; she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Edward Horn of Browning, Mo.; one brother, Bill Horn of Tonawanda, N.Y.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Horn was a farmer.
Arthur Kenton
SULLIVAN - Arthur "Sam" Kenton, 71, of Sullivan, died at 2:25 P.M. Monday (August 21, 2000) in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.
Graveside funeral services were held Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan with military rites conducted by Sullivan American Legion Post #68.
Sam was born December 15, 1928, in Mattoon, the son of Arthur E. and Allene May Kenton.
He had been a tool and die maker for the Marvel-Schebler Tillotson Division of Borg Warner, Decatur, US Army veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict; past commander and board member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #68.
Sam always drove the American Legion Post fire truck in the parades and served on the funeral honor guard.
He married Jean Burnett on December 5, 1948, in Charleston.
Surviving are his wife Jean of Sullivan; daughter Nancy R. Kenton of Dalton City; sons, Jack Kenton of Independence, Missouri, Arthur S. Kenton of Pennsylvania; father, Arthur E. Kenton of Mattoon; brother, Robert E. Kenton of Mattoon and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and two sisters.
Louise Lauher
CHARLESTON - Bertha Louise Lauher, age 80, of Charleston, formerly of Oakland, passed away at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 22, 2000) at the Prairie View Care Center, Charleston, Ill.
Burial will be in Shields Cemetery, SE of Oakland.
She was born February 20, 1920, at Oakland, Illinois, the daughter of Roy and Bertha S. Humphrey Lauher.
She is survived by 1 Brother, Max Lauher of Charleston.
Also surviving are Jo and the late Paul Zigler family, formerly of Chicago with whom she resided for 22 years.
She was a member of the Charleston VFW Auxiliary #1592.

William Rex Little
CHARLESTON - William Rex Little, age 83, of Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2000 at Prairie View Care Center of Charleston.
Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 25 at Murdock Cemetery in Loveland, Ohio.
Rex was born July 24, 1917 in Fairgrange, Illinois, the son of Mac Tony and Callie (Nickell) Little.
He married Rowena Franz in 1942 in Loveland, Ohio.
He is survived by one son, Bill and his wife Gwen of Charleston; two grandsons, Blaine and his wife Ann of St. Louis, Missouri and Brian and his wife Angela of Decatur, Illinois; one great-grandson, Jonathan of Decatur; one brother, Gene Little of Orlando, Florida, and a special friend, Lena Gillenwater of Lovington, Illinois.
He was preceded by an infant daughter Karen, his wife Rowena and a sister, Betty Richards.
Rex was a member of the Central Christian Church, AMBUCS and Bent Tree Golf Course.
He was a Superintendent of Fabrication for NuTone Corp., a position from which he retired in 1964. He later was employed at Trailmobile in the Charleston facility.
Golfing was his favorite pastime, and he also enjoyed gardening.

Gertrude Ennis
MARTINSVILLE - Gertrude Ennis, 93, of Martinsville, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 20, 2000) at Birchwood Nursing Home, Casey.
Burial will be in the Martinsville City Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 8, 1907, in Bellair, the daughter of Arzie and Edna Payne Gaines.
She married John Ennis in 1931; he died in 1978.
Surviving are one son, Mark Ennis of Mathias, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Vianna Robertson
INDIANAPOLIS - Vianna Julia Ella Voigt Robertson, 79, of Indianapolis, died Sunday (Aug. 20, 2000) in Indianapolis.
A graveside service was held at Lincoln Memory Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, William Robertson; one son, Jon Robertson; two daughters, Kay Krebs and Brenda Lloyd; one sister, Irene Swank of Mattoon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Robertson worked for a short time for the Chamber of Commerce in Illinois and was a member of the Lawrence Congregation of Jehovah's Witness.
Lawrence R. Nichols
CHARLESTON - Lawrence Richard Nichols, 76, of Charleston, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 20, 2000) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
He was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Winston Salem, N.C., the son of John T. and Era Perry Nichols.
He married Emily Conrad on Aug. 6, 1946; she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Ms. Cynthia D. Nichols of Charleston and Laura Nichols Hooser and son-in-law, Stephen Blair Hooser of West Lafayette, Ind.; one brother, of Mt. Airy, N.C.; two grandchildren, Blair Nichols and Conrad Richard Nichols Hooser.
Mr. Nichols worked at E.I.U. from 1962 until his retirement in 1994. He taught history for over 40 years, receiving is BA from Wake Forrest, MA and PhD from Duke University. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Nichols had served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a medic in the European Theater and was a recipient of the purple heart.
