SULLIVAN - Carol A. Williams, 61, of Sullivan died at 7:29 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 19, 2000) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1939 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Edward Jr. and Mary Conley Wimmer.
She married Ken Williams in 1963. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Mike Bradshaw of Winchester, Ky., Anthony Williams of New York City, N.Y., and Royce Williams of Chicago; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Paul Williams
ARCOLA - Paul Albert Williams, 81, of Arcola, IL passed away at 6:55 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2000 at his residence in Arcola, IL.
Burial was in the Humboldt Cemetery.
Paul was born April 24, 1919 in Tuscola, IL. A son of Walter and Grace (Hood) Williams.
He married Lauretta C. Newman in Forsyth, IL on September 23, 1951.
He is survived by: Wife, Lauretta Williams of Arcola, IL; 1 Son, Andy Williams of Arcola, IL; 3 Daughters, Paula Williams of Paris, IL, Beverly and her husband Robert Gilliland of Oakland, IL, and Vanessa and her husband Loran Wangler of Elk Grove Village, IL; 5 Grandchildren, Joe Gilliliand, Amy Tomlinson, Vicki DuFault, Kristi Wangler, and Jennifer Wangler; 2 Great Grandchildren, Nicholas Hires and Elizabeth Tomlinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Glenn Williams and one sister, Mabel Evans.
Paul was a member of the Humboldt United Methodist Church.
He farmed in the Oakland and Humboldt area for many years. He also had a Star Route Mail Contract with the United States Post Office for several years.
Paul enjoyed watching all kinds of sporting events, especially those involving his children and grandchildren, he also enjoyed livestock judging, playing the guitar and fiddle, and when he was younger he enjoyed square dancing.

MATTOON - Bettie Eileen Brown, 79, of Mattoon, died Friday (Aug. 18, 2000) at her residence.
Charles Dean
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Charles "Wesley" Dean, 75, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Charleston, died Tuesday (Aug. 15, 2000) at his home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Fairgrange, the son of Willis and Laura DeWitt Dean.
Surviving are one sister, Deloris Stanford of Charleston; two brothers, Dale Dean of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Edgar Dean of Millington, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dean was a chemical engineer. He retired as vice president for sales from Sparling Meter Corp. in California.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having attained the rank of lieutenant commander.
Velma Hardy
SHELBYVILLE - Velma Hardy, 91, of Shelbyville, died at 4:40 a.m. Friday (Aug. 18, 2000) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
She was born April 15, 1909, in Casey, the daughter of Harland O. and Fairy Adams Fitzpatrick.
She married Leverette Hardy in 1931; he died in 1997.
Surviving are one son, Dean Hardy of Shelbyville; three daughters, Norma Eversole of Shelbyville, Della Roberts of Decatur and Shirley Berner of Owaneco; one sister, Pauline Spence of Bethany; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hardy was also preceded in death by one brother.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or donor's choice.
Elsie Meyer
ST. PETER - Elsie Meyer, 67, of St. Peter, died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 17, 2000) at her residence.
Burial will be in Farina Cemetery, Farina.
She was born May 11, 1933, in Fayette County, the daughter of George E. and Geneva M. Schwabe Reitz.
She married Elmer H. Meyer in 1955; he survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Brian Meyer of Decatur, Gary Meyer of Farina and Ron Meyer of Coralville, Iowa; two daughters, Nancy Guerrettaz and Jo Ellen Williams of Farina; one brother, Stanley Reitz of Kentwood, Mich.; three sisters, Mary Lou Lentz of Mattoon, Glennadene Hamel of Mattoon and Paula Hotz of O'Fallon; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Meyer had retired as a secretary for the Farina Co-Op.
She was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Elizabeth Parkison
DECATUR - Elizabeth D. Parkison, 76, Decatur, died at 10:35 a.m. Thursday (August 17, 2000) at her residence.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born in Mattoon, IL on June 2, 1924, the daughter of Ward T. and Leah Spitler Deckard.
She graduated from Mattoon High School and was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church in Decatur. She worked as a cafeteria server for Lincoln and French Elementary schools.
Mrs. Parkinson was brilliant at crossword puzzles, cryptograms, logic problems, and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed mysteries and learning foreign languages.
Elizabeth married Joseph Parkison on October 5, 1947, in Mattoon, IL.
Surviving are her husband; daughter, Connie Wicklund, Billings, MT; sons, Glen and wife Ronda of Atlanta, GA, Paul of Decatur, and Dale of Mattoon; one sister, Catherine Gwinn and husband Ted of Mattoon; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Alice Wilson
TOLEDO - Alice Marie Wilson, 47, of Toledo, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 17, 2000) at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 9, 1953, in Mattoon, the daughter of Robert and Josephine McClain Boswell.
She married John Wilson in 1979; he survives.
Also surviving are her father, Robert Boswell of Mattoon; one son, John Cody of Marshall; one daughter, Rebecca Cody of Charleston; three brothers, Bill Boswell of Toledo, Joe Boswell of Louisville and Ed Boswell of Mattoon; four sons, Betty Dossett of Jewett, Emma Lawhorn of Toledo, Clara Ervin of Newton and Debbie Cordes of Lerna; and six grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Wilson had worked at the Cumberland Nursing Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Minnie Alexander
Minnie A. Alexander, age 85, of Mattoon, passed away at 12:45 p.m on Wednesday, August 16, 2000, at the Mattoon Health Care Center.
Burial will be at a later date in Woodland Chimes Cemetery at Cleveland, Oklahoma.
Minnie was born on October 31, 1914.
She married Charles C. "Pete" Alexander. He passed away on January 3, 1968.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include one son, Dan Alexander of Springfield; one grandson, Jason Alexander of Mattoon; two granddaughters, Nicole Alexander and Courtney Alexander, both of Springfield.
Minnie retired from the Mattoon General Electric Company after 35 years of service.
She was a member of the Zion Hill United Methodist Church in Mattoon.
