CHARLESTON - Maggie E. Bevers, 94, of Charleston, died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with the Rev. William Linville officiating.
Burial will be in Kickapoo Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 9, 1906, in Charleston, the daughter of James Ervin and Dessie Pearl Wright Finch.
She married George A. Bevers in 1923; he died in 1955.
Surviving are one daughter, Marjorie Kissell of Charleston; two nieces that were raised by the Bevers, Lula Pearl Adams of San Diego and Karen Jane Hurst of Effingham; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Bevers retired as an LPN at Charleston Hospital after many years of service.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Charleston.
Betty L. Degadillo
MATTOON - Betty L. Delgadillo, age 57, of Mattoon, passed away at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2000 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2000 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Dona, Reverend Marvin Flowers and Sandy Dona officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Betty L. Delgadillo was born August 9, 1943 in Cumberland County, Illinois, a daughter of Frank and Catherine Sullender Price.
She married Isaac "Ike" Delgadillo August 20, 1966 at Inglewood, California, he survives.
Also surviving are her parents, Frank and Catherine Price of Mattoon; children, Carl I. Delgadillo of Tampa, Florida, Frank I. Delgadillo and family of Mattoon, and Mrs. Mark (Catherine) Phillips and family also of Mattoon. A sister, Shirley Ann Price of Mattoon and three grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Delgadillo was a member of Broadway Christian Church.
She served as a dental office receptionist for fifteen years and was also a receptionist for Weight Watchers in Mattoon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Christian Church or Lincolnland Hospice.
Roberta "Bert" Eaton
COOKS MILLS - Roberta May "Bert" Eaton, 73, of Cooks Mills, IL passed away at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at her daughters residence in Arcola, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September, 30, 2000, at the Arcola Free Methodist Church. Rev. Tim Massengill and Rev. Doug Lambert will officiate.
Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. The Edwards Funeral Home 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
Bert was born February 24, 1927 in Newton, IL the daughter of Oscar N. and Gertie Mae Parrent Clark.
She married Richard Eaton in 1964; he passed away in 1994.
She is survived by: Daughter: Loretta Morgan and her husband Rick of Arcola, IL; 3 Stepchildren: Tom Eaton and his wife Paula, Richie Eaton and his wife Jeannie and Vickie Crist and her husband Mike, all of Cooks Mills; 3 brothers: Homer Clark and his wife Mildred, Bob Clark and his wife Barb and Wayne Clark and his wife Debbie, all of Arcola, IL; a Sister-in-Law: Thelma Clark of Arcola, IL; 2 grandchildren: 11 Step Grandchildren: 1 Great Grandson: 4 Step Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her: parents, her husband, one brother, Dale Clark, a grandson, Roger Walker, a step-grandson, Scott Eaton, and a Great Granddaughter, Page Nees.
Bert had worked for the Warren Broom Company in Arcola for several years, she also had worked as a cook for the Douglas Health Care Center in Mattoon.
She was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Mattoon. Bert was a great cook, she enjoyed baking pies, cobblers and cookies. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Garland Lee
MARTINSVILLE - Garland "Frog" Lee, 87, of Martinsville, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at the Heartland Manor Nursing Home, Casey.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Westfield, with the Rev. Joe Grozik officiating. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery, Westfield. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Markwell Chapel in Westfield.
He was born in July 1, 1913, in Westfield, the son of Clayburn Lee and Ollie Bell Marrs Lee.
He married Ruby Marie Conley in 1935; she died in 1999.
Surviving are one son, Billie Lee of Martinsville; one daughter, Olive Evans of Westfield; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Lee was a farmer.

Terri Mancell
GREENUP - Terri L. Mancell, 47, of Greenup, died at 1:45 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000) at her sister's residence in Casey.

Helen Cochran
Sullivan - Helen O. Cochran, 85, of Sullivan, died 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan.
Memorials suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Cochran was born October 7, 1914, in St. Lawrence, SD, the daughter of Elmer "Dick" and Laura Tripmaker DeHart.
She was retired from the Illinois Masonic Home, Sullivan where she had worked for 27 years, and was a member of the New Life Tabernacle, the Rebekah Lodge and Sunshine Club all of Sullivan.
She married Clarence E. Cochran in 1933 in Shelby Co. and he died in 1972.
Surviving is a son, Clarence "Bill" Cochran and wife Shirley A. of Gays; a daughter, Rosemary Cochran Cole and husband James of Decatur; and a sister, Ruth DeHart of New Mexico. 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her brothers and sisters.
David Jenkins
David Eugene Jenkins, age 64, of Mattoon, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2000, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Liberty Christian Church, formerly First Assembly of God, at 1101 Prairie with the Reverend Randal S. Langley officiating.
Burial with military rites by the V.F.W. Post 4325 will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Schilling Funeral Home.
David was born in Decatur on April 21, 1936, a son of Francis and Margaret King Jenkins.
He married Elna J. "Ellie" Jackson on December 27, 1958, in Effingham.
Survivors include his wife, Ellie J. Jenkins of Mattoon; two sons, D. Stephen Jenkins and wife Gwen and Jason E. "Jay" Jenkins, all of Mattoon; two daughters, Lisa Schaub and husband Howard of Decatur and Danae Fultz and husband James of Mattoon; his mother, Margaret Jenkins; one brother, Edward D. Jenkins; one sister, Frances "Fran" Jenkins, all of Mattoon; and ten grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Jenkins was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He founded and operated the House of David Bible Book Store for eighteen years. David also owned and operated the Terminix franchise since 1967. He was affiliated with the Faith Builders Church. David was a loving dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed and one day we will all be together forever in Heaven.

Ethel L. Jones
MATTOON - Ethel Lee Jones, 74, of Mattoon, went to be with her Lord at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at the Hilltop Nursing Home in Charleston.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2000, at Dodge Grove Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Ethel was born March 5, 1926, at Minter City, Mississippi, daughter of Sam and Mary Alexander Binford.
Survivors include her mother: Mary Binford; son: Robert Jones of Mattoon; daughter: Roxie Dixon of Mattoon; step-daughter: April Dixon of Charleston; step-sons: Arthur Dixon and Murray Dixon both of Mattoon. Grandchildren: Derek, Courtney, Brianna, Lindsay, Lakeisha and Keefer. A cousin: Mary Alice Ross of Mattoon, friend: Elmer Smith of Neoga, good neighbor: Betty Trimble of Mattoon, and her protector: Damien, as well as many special friends, whom she cared for and they cared for her as well, also survive.
She was preceded in death by one sister: Millie Jane Page.
Ethel was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Mattoon.
She retired in 1989 from Convalescent Care Center as a laundry worker and had been a housekeeper all her life.
