SPOKANE, Wash. - Charles M. "Chuck" Montgomery, 64, of Spokane, Wash., formerly of Charleston, died Aug. 26, 2000, at his residence.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale with Father Frank Westhoff presiding.
The Adams Funeral Chapel is in charge or the arrangements.
Paul Richards
MARBLE FALLS, Texas - Paul Leland Richards, 87, of Marble Falls, Texas, formerly of Charleston, died at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 4, 2000, at his residence.
The Clement and Wilcox Crematory, Marble Falls, Texas, was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born June 13, 1913, in Charleston.
Surviving are three sons, Don Richards of Grove, Okla., Michael Richards of Tennessee and Tom Richards of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Sue Downes of St. Joseph; three sisters, Ann Hanner of Paris, Evelyn Brown of Urbana and Beth Richards of Rantoul; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Richards retired from the University of Illinois maintenance staff in 1978.
Fyrne Sansone
CHARLESTON - Fyrne Sansone, 99, of Charleston, formerly of Champaign, died at 7 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) at the Hilltop Convalescent Center.
A graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at a Champaign Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Friday at the Owens Funeral Home, Champaign.
She was born Oct. 26, 1900, in Mason, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barham.
She married Mike Sansone; he preceded her in death.
Surviving are two great-nephews, Jerry and Terry Foreman, both of Charleston.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters.
Mrs. Sansone and her husband were taffy vendors at many local and U.S. fairs for many years.
She was a member of the Catholic faith, attending church in Champaign.
Deborah Smith
ARCOLA - Deborah Marie Smith, 46, of Arcola, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A private family memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the family residence. The Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Sept. 7, 1954, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Marjorie Hardwick Gleason.
Surviving are one son, Clinton Smith of Arcola; one daughter, Nichole Brinkley of Arcola; one brother, Bob Gleason of Sidney; and three grandchildren.
Lydia Stahler
TUSCOLA - Lydia E. Stahler, 75, of Tuscola, died at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, with the Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Burial will be in the Tuscola Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1925, in Saunemn, the daughter of Scott and Daisy Brittain Combs.
Surviving are five sons, Scott Stahler of New Lenox, Alvin Stahler Jr. of Charleston, and Gerald "Peanuts" Stahler, Mark Stahler and Michael L. Stahler, all of Tuscola; three daughters, Connie Lewis of Tuscola, Trish Miller of Eldridge, Iowa, and Margie Stahler of Hampton; one brother, Lloyd Combs of Bloomington; three sisters, Ruth Erny of Jasper, Ind., Dora Thomas of Tuscola and Catherine Hoke of Champaign; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Stahler was a homemaker. She was a member of the Forty Martys Catholic Church, Tuscola, and a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge.
Memorials may be made to the Special Oympics Program.
Joy Dexter
MATTOON - Joy Gay Dexter, 68, of Mattoon, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday (Sept. 25, 2000) at her residence.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Schilling Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service.
She was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Sullivan, the daughter of Robert Cecil and Geneva Ann Hatfield Marlow.
She married Walter Russell Dexter in 1969; he died in 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Howard Marlow and James Christopher Arthur, both of Apopka, Fla.; two daughters, Lori Bowman and Billie McCall, both of Mattoon; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by seven brothers.
Mrs. Dexter was a cook and waitress in Mattoon restaurants, for the Mattoon Garment Factory and at Pat's Lounge in Mattoon.
Deborah Jasso
ARCOLA - Deborah M. Jasso, 46, of Arcola, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 26, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

T.W. (Wes) Smith
CHARLESTON - T.W. (Wes) Smith, age 77, of Charleston, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2000 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Graveside services celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2000 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston with Reverend Clayton Smith and Reverend Dale Beck officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul McVey Post 1592 of Charleston. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28 at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive, Charleston.
Wes was born June 13, 1923 in Osceola, Iowa, the son of John Allen and Motta Lena (Miller) Smith.
He married Elizabeth L. (Betty) Gracey on August 24, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Craig Smith and Kevin Smith and his wife Judy, all of Lincoln, Illinois and Todd Smith and his wife Staci of Long Island, New York; six grandchildren, Shanon Flores and her husband John, Jeff Smith and his wife Stacie and Natalie Smith all of San Antonio, Texas, Jori Smith of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jamie Smith of Lincoln, Illinois and Jill Smith of Spokane, Washington; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Lavere Smith and his wife Mary of Warrensburg, Missouri and Dick Smith and his wife Orpha of Davenport, Iowa, and two sisters, Linda Reed and her husband Ron of Osceola, Iowa, and Mildred of Des Moines, Iowa.
He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Bob Smith.Wes was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston, the E.I.U. Panther Club, Charleston Moose Lodge #1388, Charleston Elks B.P.O.E. #623 and the Charleston Country Club. Many will remember him as District Sales Manager for Massey Ferguson.
He served in World War II as Chief Purser with the Merchant Marines Maritime Service, and was discharged with the rank of Lt. JG.
He loved his family and especially enjoyed the times when his three sons and their families came home to visit.
In addition to being an avid gardener, he was a sports supporter, not only of Eastern Illinois University and Charleston High School teams, but also the Chicago White Sox, Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Lee Faught
Lee Faught, age 98, of Mattoon, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2000, at the Mattoon Health Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Parish Center in Mattoon with Father Herman J. Niebrugge officiating.
Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Altamont at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday morning at the Schilling Funeral Home.
Lee was born in Altamont on October 15, 1901, a daughter of Charles and Orr Davidson Faught.
Survivors include one great-nephew, Richard H. Price and wife Kelly of Collierville, Tennessee and his three children; Kristen Caughlin and husband John of Cave Creek, Arizona, Jennifer Warner and husband Joseph of Southhaven, Mississippi, and Alexander H. Price of Knoxville, Tennessee; one great-niece, Judith P. (Julie) Rimovsky and her children, Anthony S. (Tony) Rimovsky and wife Jamie and their children, Rachel and Gabriel, all of Mahomet, and Ann E. Atkins and husband David of Claremont.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Donald Faught Westervelt in 1963, Gail Faught Starkweather in 1990 and two nieces, Mary Louise Westervelt in 1933 and Virginia Westervelt Price Cox in 1995.
Lee retired in 1972 from the State of Illinois where she had worked for thirty-eight years, first as a traveling auditor and then as supervisor of auditing in Chicago.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
