NASHVILLE - David A. Turner, 58, of Nashville, died at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 16, 2000) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. today at the Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville, with the Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.
The Styninger-Krupp Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born June 3, 1942, in Troy, the son of the Rev. Dale and Hazel Hosmer Turner.
He married Sandra Collins in 1962; she survives.
Also surviving are his parents of Louisville; two daughters, Julie Schnitker of Hoyleton and Jennifer Szopinksi of Nashville; one brother, Leon Turner of Rockford; four sisters, Dorothy Brooks of Danville, Ind., Margaret Fielder of Oblong, Maxine Turner of Louisville and Marilyn Turner of Oakland; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
Mr. Turner had worked 30 years with the Illinois State Police, retiring in 1998, from the DuQuoin District Headquarters.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville and Fraternal Order of Police.

Edythe Luzona Carter
MATTOON - Edythe Luzona Carter, age 86, of Mattoon, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2000 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Shepherd officiating.
Interment will be in Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Women of the Moose Rites at 7:30 p.m.
Edythe Luzona Carter was born August 7, 1914 at Danville, Illinois, a daughter of Charles P. and Emma Lou Mendenhall Beason.
She married R. Kenneth Carter May 27, 1933 at Clinton, Indiana; he preceded in death June 3, 1992.
Surviving are her children, Ann Clark and husband Don of Mattoon, Edythe Hoglen and husband Paul of Snowflake, Arizona, Phillip Carter and wife Judith of Mattoon, Judy Montague and husband Dick of Windsor, Mike Carter and wife Carol of Mattoon and John Carter and wife Karen of Mattoon.
She is also survived by a brother, Curtis Beason of Mattoon, a sister, Helen Mathias of Scottsdale, Arizona, eighteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter and three brothers, John, Louie and George Beason.
Mrs. Carter was a member of Women of the Moose.

Madge Crackel
MATTOON - Madge Crackel, 88, of Mattoon, formerly of Clay City, died at 6:36 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 14, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City with the Rev. Carson Root officiating.
Burial will be in the Clay City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born March 26, 1912 in Louisville, the daughter of Harry and Kizzie James Stanford.
She married John Crackel in 1933. He died in 1983.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Fleming of Mattoon; two sisters, Cornelia Skelton of Ocala, Fla. and Faye Zook of Salina, Kan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Mrs. Crackel was a retired teacher and 50-year member and Past Matron of the Magnolia Chapter 140 Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary 840 of Clay City.
Ellanoia Bower
CASEY - Ellanoia Marie Bower, 71, of Casey, died at 3:20 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 16, 2000) in Heartland Manor Nursing Center.
The graveside funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery with the Rev. Sonny Haumesser officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home.
She was born April 29, 1929 in Casey, the daughter of Samuel and Nevonia Tipsword Kimberlin.
Surviving are one son, Victor L. Bower and two grandchildren.

Donald Brewer
CASEY - Donald J. "D.J." Brewer, 71, of Casey, died at 7:52 a.m. Friday (Sept. 15, 2000) at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Markwell & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Oakley officiating.
Burial will be in the Casey-Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Decatur, the son of Jonas Guy and Hildreth Lee Orr Brewer.
He married Maxine Delp in 1952. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Donald J. Brewer, Jr. of Casey; two daughters, Mescal Winans of Thibodaux, La. and Sarah Paul of Casey; one brother, Floyd Brewer of Catlin; four sisters, Alice Middleton and Dorothy Ring, both of Casey, Joella Miedel and Jean Briener, both of Springfield; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Brewer was an employee of the City of Casey and a Army veteran. He was a member of the Round Grove Sportsmen Club and Ducks Unlimited.

Imogene McNamer
MATTOON - Imogene Hilda McNamer, 74, of Mattoon, passed away at 12:10 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2000 at the Odd-Fellow Rebekah Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. John P. Besore III and Reverend Jan Kennedy officiating.
Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Imogene was born September 19, 1925 in Mattoon, daughter of Henry and Ella Partlow Goodson.
She married Carlos McNamer, December 29, 1942 at St. Louis, Missouri; he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter: Vickie Baker of Lerna; two grandsons: Jeff Thompson of Mattoon and Mark Thompson and wife Cathy of Oregon, Illinois; two great-grandchildren: Emily Thompson and Matthew Thompson both of Oregon, Illinois; and one sister: Pauline McGee of Venice, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Albert, Clarence, and Eugene Goodson, one sister: Maxine Ayers, and her son-in-law: Robert Baker.
Imogene was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Mattoon, Mattoon Order of the Eastern Star Elect Chapter 40, and a former member of the Mattoon and Charleston Country Clubs. She retired from General Electric in 1978 and had formerly worked at Brown Shoe Company.

Margaret Morgan
CASEY - Margaret Orel Morgan, 71, of Casey died at 10 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 17, 2000) at the Birchwood Nursing Home in Casey.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Markwell & Son Funeral Home, Casey, with the Rev. Dick Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery south of Hazel Dell.
Visitation will be two hours before services at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Hazel Dell, the daughter of George Wesley and Bonnie Bertha Barlow Morgan.
Survivors include a brother, Jim Morgan of Casey, a sister, Lucille Graham of Hazel Dell and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Morgan.
Miss Morgan was a retired housekeeper and in-home care provider in the Casey area.

Melvin Watson
ARTHUR - Melvin A. Watson, 90, of rural Arthur, died at 1:15 am., Saturday, September 16, 2000, in the Sullivan Health Care, Sullivan.

Mr. Watson was born on October 2, 1909, in Coles County, the son of John and Mayme Houghlan Watson.
He was a retired farmer.
He married Vernetta L. Warner on March 14, 1936 in Bethany, she preceded him in death on June 1, 1967.
He is survived by his son; Dick Watson and wife Linda of Arthur; daughter; Marclyn Park and husband Bill of Sullivan.
