MATTOON J. Brandon "Bundy" Becker, age 27, passed away at 9:48 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2000 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga with the Pastor Scott Sims officiating.
Burial will be in the Beals Cemetery in Trilla. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1972 in Mattoon, the son of John F. and Donna J. (Thompson) Becker.
He married Laura K. Warner on May 3, 1997 in Charleston.Surviving are his wife, Laura of Mattoon; one daughter, Tierra Becker at home; one step-daughter, Delaney Porter at home; his mother, Donna J. Becker of Trilla; two sisters, Mrs. Mitchell (Kasi) Sund of Mattoon and Brooklyn Becker of Trilla; and his grandmother, Mrs. Eva Becker of Neoga.
He was preceded in death by his father, John F. Becker on Jan. 14, 1997; two grandfathers and one grandmother.
Mr. Becker was the parts manager at Owen Honda in Charleston and a member of the Salisbury Church in Charleston.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Alvin Cooper
MACOMB - Alvin R. Cooper, 83, of Macomb died at 12:07 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 9, 2000) at McDonough District Hospital.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with Father Mark DeSutter officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Macomb. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home with a wake service at 8:30 p.m.
He was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Galesburg, the son of George K. and Lula Robinson Cooper.
He married Maxine Ritchie in 1945. She died in 1971. He married Madge P. Howe (Foote) in 1983. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Mason of Broomfield, Colo., and Debra McKee of Superior, Colo.; a stepson, Tim Howe of Macomb; a brother, George K. Cooper of Charleston; and one grandson, two step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
Mr. Cooper was a WWII veteran and associated with the Citizens National Bank for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Macomb Chamber of Commerce, Macomb Board of Education and Macomb Country Club.
Memorials may be made to the Wesley Village Alzheimer Care Unit, McDonough District Hospital Day Care House Services or St. Paul Church Building Fund.
Donetta Eades
OBLONG - Donetta Lynne Eades, 49, of Oblong, formerly of Greenup, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday (Sept. 8, 2000).
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Oblong Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steve Sparks officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Her body will be cremated and the ashes buried at a later date. Pulliam Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Washington, Ind., the daughter of Gordon and Alice Maxine Anderson Goodpasture.
She married Gary Eades in 1979. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother Maxine Goodpasture of Tuscola; two sons, Gerald Leslie "Les" Taylor of Royal Oak, Mich., and James Matthew Taylor of Longview, Texas; one daughter, Noemi Lynne Eades at home; two sisters, Tambra Dawn McCartney of Champaign and Karla Sue Stannard of Allons, Texas; and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father and one son.
Mrs. Eades worked at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Oblong Wesleyan Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Crawford County Unit.
Edith Fiorino
WEST UNION - Edith "Dusty" Waltrip Fiorino, 43, of West Union, formerly of Decatur, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 9, 2000).
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel in West Union with the Rev. Richard Chapman officiating.
Burial will be in the Medsker Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and before services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Oct. 4, 1956 in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of Walter Thomas and Mary Esther Emerick Waltrip.
Surviving are her husband, John W. Fiorino; two sons, Toby James Waltrip of Terre Haute, Ind., and Frank James Waltrip of Decatur; one daughter, Ashley Katherien Boes of Decatur; mother, Mary Esther Waltrip ; two brothers, Darrrell Wayne Waltrip of Bridgeton, Ind., and Mark Allen Waltrip of Terre Haute, Ind.; six sisters, Sharon Ray Dyck of Marshall, Judy Ann Smith of rural West Union, Gail Sue Long and Debra Joe Lucas, both of Terre Haute, Ind., Bonney Jean Palcios of Harlegen, Texas, and Pamela Jane Waltrip of Fontanet, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother.
Mrs. Fiorino was a homemaker and member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church.
John Gaeta
MATTOON - John Joseph Gaeta, 51, of Mattoon, formerly of Las Vegas, Nev., died at 2 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 10, 2000) at Mattoon Health Care Center.
Arrangements are pending at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home.
M. Joe Kuhn
GREENUP - M. Joe Kuhn, 76, of Greenup died at 11:41 a.m. Friday (Sept. 8, 2000) at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with Pastor Brooke Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He was born July 19, 1924, in Jewett, the son of James Raymond and Iva M. (Wellbaum) Kuhn.
He married Betty L. Dunne in 1945. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dick Kuhn of Charleston and Bill Kuhn of Greenup; one daughter, Linda Myers of Greenup; one brother, James Kuhn of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Martha Glodfelder of Windsor and Barbara Horath of Springfield; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Mr. Kuhn was a self-employed woodworker and a member of the Hidalgo Baptist Church.
Kathryn Leech
GAYS - Kathryn Lee Leech, 51, of Gays, formerly of Atwood, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday (Sept. 8, 2000) at her residence.
The graveside funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Cartwright Cemetery in rural Tuscola with the Rev. Conrad Heisner officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola.
She was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Tuscola, the daughter of "Red" and Rosie Mae (McDade) Waters.
She married Robert Leech in 1978. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, William Revell of Arthur and Jerald and Gary Leech, both of Gays; one daughter, Rose Bontrager of Tuscola; one stepson, Kevin Leech, stationed in Germany; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Mrs. Leech was employed at Schrock Cabinet Co.
Treva Martin
GREENUP - Treva Inez Martin, 94, of Greenup died at 8:55 p.m. Friday (Sept. 8, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Bishop Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Meachum officiating.
Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born July 18, 1906 in Greenup, the daughter of Nelson Levi and Nellie (Spencer) Mitchell.
She married Victor Claire Martin in 1921.
He died in 1983.
Surviving are two sons, Bob Martin of Greenup and Stephen Ray Martin of Casey; two daughters, Ernestine Woods and Helen Marie VanScyoc, both of Greenup; one brother, Virgil Harold Mitchell; five sisters, Dorothy Arms, Edna Willis and Geneva Fasig, all of Mattoon, Bernice Miller and Fay Devall, both of Greenup; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, one daughter and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and member of the Independent Bible Believers Church in Greenup.
