TOLEDOMrs. Alice E. Miller, age 72, of rural Toledo, passed away at 11:25 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at her residence.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga with the Brother Mack Cox and Brother Jack Turner officiating.
Burial will be in the Drummond Cemetery in Neoga.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Sept. 27, 1927 in Cumberland County, the daughter of Henry H. and A. Dorothy (Becker) Blair.
She married Ray E. Miller on December 14, 1946 in Sullivan.
Surviving are her husband, Ray E. Miller of Heartland Christian Village, Neoga; one son, Vernon R. Miller and wife Jane of rural Toledo; two daughters, Berneice E. Smith of Mattoon and Mrs. Jim (Michelle L.) Ballinger of rural Toledo; two brothers, Russell Blair of Decatur and Winter Haven, Fla. and Lloyd Blair of Winter Haven, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tammy Harris, Todd Dunn, Felicia Miller, Zachary Ballinger and Brittany Ballinger; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Dunn and Travis Dunn.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marcella.
Mrs. Miller was a retired cook from the Neoga School District and a housewife.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Mattoon and the Stitch and Chatter Club.

SULLIVAN - James F. "Jim" Stone, 62, of Carrollton, formerly of Sullivan, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 3, 2000) at his residence.

Myrtle Yost
SHELBYVILLE - Myrtle C. Yost, 102, of Shelbyville died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 3, 2000) at Olivewood Health Care Center in Shelbyville.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born July 26, 1898 in Omega Township, the daughter of Clayborn and Cerilda Roton Sipes.
She married Lester Yost in 1921. He died in 1964.
Surviving are one son, Gerald Yost of Veguita, N.M.; two daughters, Pauline Oest of South Bend, Wash. and Vera Moon of Shelbyville; and ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter.
Mrs. Yost was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

MARGARET E. NUCCIO, 82, of Tuscola, IL, died at 2:39 AM, Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at the Mattoon Health Care Center, Mattoon, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, September 3, 2000 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 401 East Sale Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Clyde Snyder officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2000 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Burial will be in the Camargo Cemetery, Camargo, ILMrs.
Nuccio was born October 15, 1917 in Camargo, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Mae Susan Berry Moss.
She married Peter Joseph Nuccio on March 7, 1947 in Chicago, IL. He died on September 13, 1984.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Barbara Bechtel and husband: Dennis of Peoria, IL, Susan McNeill and husband: Dr. Leland McNeill of Charleston, IL, 7 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Granddaughter.

Mrs. Nuccio was a retired registered nurse having worked at Jarman Hospital in Tuscola for 35 years and We Care Nursing Home, Arcola, IL for 10 years.
She was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church, Tuscola Moose Lodge, Douglas County Republican Women, Tuscola Church of God Missionary Group, RSVP Group and the Nursing Association.
She was a former Girl Scout Leader.
She graduated from Englewood Nursing School in Chicago, IL.
She very much enjoyed crafting and being a Girl Scout Leader.
George Hopper
WEST UNION - George A. Hopper, 71, of rural West Union, died Sunday (Oct. 29, 2000) at 1:40 a.m. at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union, with Pastor Don Russell officiating.
Burial will be in York Cemetery, southeast of West Union.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday and before services on Wednesday.
He was born July 18, 1929, in Sullivan County, Ind., the son of John Hopper and Tressie Brown Hopper.
He married Mary Frances Crow in 1948; she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John A. Hopper and Brock A. Hopper, both of rural West Union; three daughters, Judy Crumrin of rural West Union, Pam Ogle of West York and Mary Ann Hastings of Marshall; one sister, Pauline Bledsoe of Sullivan, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and one half sister.
Mr. Hopper retired as an iron worker. He was a member of Ironworkers Local 439 in Terre Haute, Ind.; York Lodge 313 AF & AM in West Union; and Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Danville.
Gladys Nash
Gladys May McCrory Nash, 88, of Casey and formerly of the Hazel Dell - Greenup area, died Sunday, October 29, 2000, at 5:45 p.m. in the St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Gladys was born May 19, 1912, in Clark County, IL.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 1st, at the Markwell Funeral Home in Casey with Rev. Rick Emrich and Rev. Olen Evans presiding.
Burial will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Her childhood was in the Annapolis area.
She was a telephone operator before she married Stanley Nash on February 20, 1932.
She and Stanley reared three children who survive.
One son Lyle Nash and his wife Donna of rural Greenup; two daughters Reah Davis and her husband Wayne of Casey; and Janice Carr and her husband John of Park Forest. Other survivors include her brothers, Joe McCrory of West Union, Lee McCrory of Robinson, and Ralph McCrory of Tuscola, and sister, Mary Helen Williams of Covington, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly, also survive Gladys.
Stanley and Gladys farmed near Melrose, Illinois until 1944, when they moved northwest of Hazel Dell where they farmed and raised dairy cattle.
Gladys proudly took on her role as farm wife, mother and citizen of the community.
She was a member of the Hazel Dell Church of God where she served in many roles including deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She is fondly remembered for her stories, readings, and songs.
Gladys was the third child of Bertie Lee and Amy Jane Cruse McCrory.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings and her husband Stanley who passed away on August 14, 1977.
In October 1999, Gladys left her rural home to join the residents of Simple Blessings in Casey.

C. Gerald Olson, 91, of Windsor died at 4:55 a.m. Sunday (October 29, 2000) in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Care Center, Coles, Co., IL
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev Terry Morrison officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in the Windsor Cemetery.
He was born July 28, 1909 in Shelby Co. IL near Windsor, the son of Grant and Ethel Bradley Olson.
He was a member of the Ash Grove Christian Church.
He owned and operated the Mobil Service Station and tank truck in Windsor for 45 years.
He married Doris Stevens Jan. 26, 1935, in Shelbyville. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Sue Bouck and husband Larry of Windsor and Connie Murphy and husband John of Lake Villa; Son, Nels Olson and wife Deborah of Milan, four grandsons, Mark Bouck and wife Teresa of Sullivan, Rich Murphy and wife Peggy of Winthrop Harbor, Matt Murphy and wife Amy of Des Plaines and Seth Olson of Milan; granddaughter Jane Gregg and husband Sam of College Station, TX; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Elsie Rose Olson that reared Gerald, brother Lloyd, half brother Dwight and half-sister Dorothy Rose.
Memorials may be made to the Ash Grove Christian Church or the donor's choice.
G. Carroll Overton
VANDALIA - G. Carroll Overton, 78, of Vandalia, formerly of Mattoon, died 1 a.m. Monday (Oct. 30, 2000) at his residence.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia.
Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, with military rites.
He was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Mattoon, the son of Glen Overton and Eunice Morgan Overton.
He married Emma Jean Massey Smith, in 1983; she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis Overton of Altamont and Darrell Overton of Vandalia; one daughter, Diane Overton of Vandalia; one stepson, Andy Smith of Greenville; two stepdaughters, Kathi Winters of Pottsboro, Texas, and Pam Morton of Dallas; five brothers, Gene, Jerry and Roy Overton, all of Mattoon, Lyle Overton of Charleston and Max Overton of Elkhart, Ind.; one sister, Eileen Hopper of Mattoon; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two wives, Virginia and Lois.
Mr. Overton was a retired farmer and owned and operated a grain elevator, and was a former telegrapher/dispatcher for the Illinois Central Railroad.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.
He was a member of the Vandalia Moose, VFW, and the Vandalia Golf and Country Club.
