HAMMOND - Leonard C. Lust, 75, of Hammond, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington.
Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Hammond, the son of Henry C. Lust and Audrey V. Emery Lust.
He married Dorothy J. McCulley in 1944; she died in 1983.
Surviving are one son, Henry C. Lust, of Hammond; two daughters, Linda J. and Anna C. Cain, both of Hammond; two brothers, Herbert F. Lust of Bement and Leland T. Lust of Hammond; one sister, Joanne A. Canfield of Arthur; three grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son and two sisters.
Mr. Lust was a drainage contractor and retired truck driver.
He was a lifetime member of the Hammond United Methodist Church.
He was a Republican Precinct Committeeman and former constable of the Village of Hammond.

Lois Taylor
WATSEKA - Lois Mae Fore Taylor, 30, of Watseka, formerly of Humboldt, died at 6 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 2, 2000) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
The funeral was Wednesday at the Watseka Methodist Church.
The Segur-Knapp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Feb. 26, 1970, the daughter of Fred and Barbara Russell Fore.
She married Keith Taylor in 1995; he survives.
Also surviving are her mother of Humboldt; one son, Zack; two brothers, Bill Fore of Mattoon and Mike Fore of Humboldt; four sisters, Harriett Clark and Pam Clark of Arcola, Marsha McLain of Humboldt and Cheryl Heath of Mattoon; and her grandmother, Elfried Russell of Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Mrs. Taylor worked in the Iroquois County State's Attorney's Office.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association.

Rose Weiffenbach
EFFINGHAM - A. Rose Weiffenbach, 90, of Effingham, formerly of rural Neoga, died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 7, 2000) at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Neoga, with Father Robert DeGrand and Sister Pat Thies officiating.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trowbridge.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home, Neoga.
She was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Shelby County, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Schinzler Dooley.
She married Charles A. Weiffenbach in 1947; he died in 1980.
Surviving are several cousins, including Ruth Rhodus of Sigel, and one nephew.
She was also preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Weiffenbach was a housewife and member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Neoga, the Ladies Council of the church and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Neoga.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Assumption Hall, Neoga.
Dorothy Williams
Dorothy Evelyn Williams, age 69, of Mattoon, formerly of Lerna, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home.
Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Schilling Funeral Home with R. D. Shoot officiating.
Burial will be in the Janesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday morning at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born February 26, 1931, in Terre Haute, Indiana, a daughter of Clarence and Mary May Owens Holmes.
She married John D. Williams in 1959. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, John D. Williams Jr. and wife Gloria, George R. Williams and wife Heather, and Richard E. Williams, all of Lerna; one daughter, Jeannie R. Vial and husband Garry of Mattoon; two sisters, Clara "Sally" Poulter and Ella Mae "Mickey" Patchett, both of Terre Haute, Ind.; seventeen grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Dottie Ratliff of Lerna; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence E. Holmes, Henry Allen Holmes and James Holmes; one sister, Fanny McCarty; and one grandson.
Mrs. Williams worked for Mattoon Memorial Hospital, the former Villa Nova restaurant and Brown Shoe Company in Charleston.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.

Neal Cole
CHARLESTON - Neal S. Cole, age 78, of Charleston, died at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Caudill-King Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Pleasant Grove Township.
Neal was born July 16, 1922 in Neoga, a son of Ben and Margaret Price Cole.
He married Nettie Kutzuk on Jan. 24, 1948; she survives.
Also surviving is one son, Gary and wife Diane Cole of Charleston; one daughter, Toni Cole of Carrboro, N.C.; grandson, Brent Cole of Charleston; granddaughter, Elizabeth Cole of Vancouver, Wash.; one sister, Neva Keith of Springfield, IL. One sister, Letha preceded him in death.
Neal was raised North of Charleston in Seven Hickory Township. He farmed for several years. From 1954 until 1966 he worked in road construction. Neal founded Ne-Co Asphalt Co., in Charleston on June 14, 1966 in which he was active until his death.
He was a Veteran of WW II, serving in the Merchant Marines.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Charleston, the Charleston Masonic Lodge AF&AM #35, Charleston Elks Lodge #623, and Charleston Moose Lodge #1388.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mary Hays
MATTOON - Mary Jane Hays, 75, of Mattoon Health Care Center, died at 9:42 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 6, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Prevo officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
She was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Oblong, the daughter of Bernard R. and Mildred M. Caudill Duncan.
She married Calvin A. Hays in 1943; he died in 1990.
Surviving are three sons, Jack L. Hays of Lake Mattoon, Ronald E. Hays of Ashmore and Lester A. Hays of Evansville, Ind.; one daughter, Judy Shumaker of Altamont; one sister, Marilyn McCollum of Paris; one half brother, Larry Duncan of Robinson; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hays was a former member of the Godfrey VFW 1308.
Helen Tueth
SHERMAN - Helen Elizabeth (Meyer) Tueth, 93, of Sherman, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday (Nov. 20, 2000) at the Sherman Villa East, in Sherman.
A memorial mass will be offered 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Columcille Catholic Church with Father John Sohm officiating.
The McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born March 3, 1907, the daughter of Charles David and Sophie Fleckenstein Meyer.
She married James E. Tueth in 1954; he died in 1974.
Surviving are one brother, Arthur Meyer of Lecanto, Fla.
Mrs. Tueth was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Columcille Catholic Church.
Zachary Turner
MATTOON - Zachary Wayne Turner, infant son of Wesley O. Turner and Jessica R. Stone, of Mattoon, died Sunday (Dec. 3, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A graveside service was held Wednesday at the Beals Cemetery in rural Trilla with the Rev. Jim Dona officiating.
The Schilling Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, Franklin Michael Stone of Mattoon; two half brothers, Aaron Lee Turner and Cody Allen Turner, both of Charleston; grandparents, Herman Michael Stone Jr. and Rose Stone, and Wesley Owen Sr. and Sharon Ann Turner, all of Mattoon; great-grandmothers, Evelyn L. Stone and Leona Turner, both of Mattoon; and great-great-grandmother, Rita Pugh of Mattoon.
Zachary was preceded in death by four great-grandfathers.
Bernard Tyrrell
NEWMAN - Bernard Tyrrell, 68, of Newman, IL passed away at 10:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2000 at Boxwood Health Care Center in Newman, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2000 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL.
His ashes will be buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
Bernard was born in Cook County on October 22, 1932.
A son of Wilbur and Josephine Tyrrell.
He is survived by: 1 Niece: Peggy Masse of Monmouth Beach, NJ.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
Bernard was a resident of the Boxwood Health Care Center in Newman, IL.
His father passed away in 1934 when Bernard was only 2.
Bernard's mother had to work to support her family.
Bernard had been institutionalized since the age of 6 but spent much time with his mother and brother on holidays and at vacation time.
Bernard had a love for people and a special love for Jesus Christ. He referred to Jesus as his "Main Man."
Bernard loved to go to church and his favorite song was "Jesus Love Me" and Bernard knew that.I (Jeff Edwards) did not know Bernard personally but I hope whoever reads this will stop for a moment at this busy time of the year and consider the Joy that Bernard knew because of his personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
May we all remember the reason for the season! God's gift is free and it is what we need the most.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Jane Ashenbramer, 64, of Chattanooga, Tenn., wife of Donald Ashenbramer formerly of Mattoon passed away in November.
She is the daughter-in-law of Helen Ashenbramer of Mattoon, IL.
