CHARLESTON - Allene B. "Shorty" Drury, 81, of Charleston, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Hilltop Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Baker and Reverend Bill Boaz officiating.
Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation was Monday evening at the funeral home.
Allene was born November 30, 1919 in Coles County, daughter of Ralph and Flora Reynolds Best.
She married Lewis Everett Drury in 1939; he died in 1991.
Survivors include five sons: John Drury of Branson, MO; William Drury of Sullivan, IL; Paul Drury of Charleston; Ralph Drury of Warner Robins, GA; David Drury of Danville, IN. Three daughters: Mary Harding, Norma Stanberry, and Donna Dyer, all of Charleston. Twenty-one grandchildren & twenty-four great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers, and two sisters.
Allene was a member of the Farmington Southern Baptist Church.

Dorothy Goforth
PARIS - Dorothy May Goforth, 80, of Paris, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 3, 2000) at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Sutton & Son Funeral Home with the Pastor Jerry Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Little Grove Cemetery near Paris.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born May 15, 1920, in Paris, the daughter of Claude and Mildred Wymer Hovis.
Surviving are three brothers, Lewis "Luke" Hovis and Kenneth Hovis, both of Paris, and Russell Hovis of Rochester, Ind.
Ms. Goforth retired from the Zenith Corp.
Geneva Meador
SULLIVAN - Geneva Meador, 75, of Sullivan died at 2:15 p.m. Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) in St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Arrangements are incomplete at Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan.
Howard Reichart
Howard Dewitt Reichart, age 82, of Mattoon, passed away at 6:12 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2000, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
Funeral services celebrating his life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ron Dickinson and the Reverend Joe Diener officiating.
Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Monday evening at the Schilling Funeral Home with Masonic rites beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Howard was born at Brunswick, Shelby County, on October 24, 1918, a son of Bert B. and Julia C. Hardy Reichart.
He married Iva Mae Waymire on October 28, 1938, at St. Louis, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Iva M. Reichart of Mattoon; three sons, Roger Dean Reichart and wife Frances I. of Castro Valley, California, Tommy Lynn Reichart and wife Sharon L. of Boca Raton, Florida and Barry Bland Reichart and wife Susan L. of Chatham, Illinois; six grandchildren, Derek A. Reichart of Redondo Beach, Calif., Andrea J. Cabral and husband Lance of Castro Valley, Calif., Shannon R. Reichart and wife Jessica of Colorado Springs, Colo., Carrie J. Reichart of Atlanta, Georgia, Casey A. Reichart and Brook N. Reichart , both of Chatham, Illinois; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew Dean Cabral, Justin Ryan Cabral and Nicholas Tyler Cabral, all of Castro Valley, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Mr. Reichart was an auditor for the State of Illinois.
He served as Administrator for the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home, from which he retired in 1977.
Howard was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mattoon, the Illinois Order of Odd Fellows, American Legion Post 88, V.F.W. Post 4325, and 32nd Degree Mason and Past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge in Findlay and member of the Ansar Shrine in Springfield and Scottish Rites in Belleville.
Memorials gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Doris Scott
MATTOON - Doris J. Scott, 63, of Mattoon, died at 8:40 a.m. Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at her residence.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert C. Clark officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born March 11, 1937, in Ashmore, the daughter of Leland and Betty Kerans.
Surviving are her mother of Mattoon; three sons, Joe Scott and Mike Scott, both of Cisco, and Jim Scott of Martinsville; one daughter, Susan B. Lee of Humboldt; one brother, Ronald Kerans of Mattoon; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter.
Ms. Scott was a retired secretary from Kal-Kan and a member of the First Christian Church.

ASHMORE - Richard "Dick" Scribner, 90, of Ashmore, died at 8:35 a.m. Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Marie Shotts
MARTINSVILLE - Marie Shotts, 82, of rural Martinsville, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 3, 2000) at Birchwood Nursing Home in Casey.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenwell Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Pastor Randy Murphy officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born March 26, 1918, in rural Marshall, the daughter of Albert Huston and Lola Alice Sanders Staggs.
She married Ralph Shotts in 1938; he died in 1991.
Surviving are one son, David Shotts of Marshall; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Shotts was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

Bonnie Underwood
Mrs. Bonnie I. Underwood, age 87, retired shoe store owner, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2000 at 12:50 P.M.
Bonnie was born January 31, 1913 in Cumberland County the daughter of Jake and Myrtle Hayden Dillier.
She married Herman Underwood on March 15, 1930, he passed away July 10, 1969.
Bonnie was survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jo Ann Underwood of Algonquin, IL; sister, Freda Underwood of Greenup, IL; grandchildren, Connie and Tony Wright of Greenup, IL, Lynn and Tracy Underwood Friend of Northbrook, IL and Nancy and Scott Gibson of Greenville, Texas; step-grandchildren Jason Kanter of Chicago, IL and Corinne Kantor of Algonquin, IL; great-grandchildren Chris Wright, Tyler Wright, Andrew Wright, Sarah Wright, Jessica Underwood, Stephanie Martin, Brittany Martin, Bradley Gibson and Breanna Gibson; step-great-grandchildren Margaux Abrams and Gregory Abrams.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenup, IL.
Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery, Greenup, IL.
Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL.

Virgil Weaver
EDGEWOOD - Virgil C. Weaver, 82, of Edgewood, died at 6:50 a.m. Monday (Dec. 4, 2000) at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Edgewood United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
He was born April 11, 1918 in Effingham County, the son of Burvel E. and Jessie T. Spragg Weaver.
He married Velma E. Matlock in 1940. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Janet) McAlister of Lerna and Joye Weaver of Altamont; one brother, Stanford Weaver of Edgewood; one sister, Neva Burgess of Salem; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, two brothers, one sister, and one grandchild.
Mr. Weaver was a retired farmer and custodian/bus driver for the Effingham Community Unit 40.
He was a member of the Edgewood United Methodist Church.

Donald Bollman
CHARLESTON - Donald Eugene Bollman, 68, of Charleston died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 2, 2000) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Freese Funeral Home in Tolono with the Rev. Ken Young officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery in Philo.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Urbana, the son of Melvin and Bonnie Paul Bollman.
He married Bonnie Taylor in 1984. She survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters, Jean Hill of Van Nuys, Calif., Donna Rueffer and Julie Bowman, both of Fort Myers, Fla., Michelle Bollman of Santa Monica, Calif., Karri Wilson of Monticello, Tammi Taylor of Urbana and Jamie Taylor of Champaign; one son, John Taylor of Madisonville, Ky.; one brother, Neal Bollman of Philo; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Bollman was a retired steamfitter and a member of the Plumbers & Steam Fitters Local 149 and Harley owners group.
