75 year old Grayville resident, Donald Higginson, died Saturday, June 18th, 2005 at his home. He sold oilfield supplies and equipment in Grayville for many years, and was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War.
Surviving are his ex-wife and soulmate, Barbara Higginson of Grayville; a brother Gordon L. Higginson of Benton, Il.; 4 sisters, Phyllis Hayes of Fort Pierce, Florida, Dolores Elliott of Olney, and Lisa Michels and Lois Helm both of Cowling, Il.
Funeral services for Donald Higginson were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21st at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial in Antioch Cemetery near Cowling, with military rites at the graveside.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 20th at the Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
Rae Gaither
83 year old Rae Gaither of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Albion, died Saturday, June 18th, 2005 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Karen Glazier of Newburgh, Indiana and Judy Lutz of Evansville, Indiana; a son, John Gaither of West Salem; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Rae Gaither were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20th at Graceland Cemetery in Albion.

87 year old Fairfield resident, June Dunlap, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, June 16th, 2005.
Surviving are 2 sons, Ron of Fairfield and Jack Robert Dunlap of Puyallup, Washington; 2 daughters, Rose Ann Ile of Albion and Carolyn Headlee of McLeansboro; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mary L. Montgomery
81-year-old Tulsa, Oklahoma resident, Mary L. Montgomery died at 5 a.m. Thursday, June 9th, 2005.
Survivors include two nephews, Richard Montgomery of Fairfield, and Leslie Montgomery of Caseyville, and one niece, Beth King of Atlanta, Georgia.
Graveside services for Mary L. Montgomery were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 20, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. There will be no visitation.

Bernice Laverne (Dorris) Naney
80 year old former Grayville resident, Bernice Laverne (Dorris) Naney, died Saturday, June 18th, 2005 at White County Medical Center Hospital in Carmi. She was a retired bookkeeper and worked for many years at Harris Drilling Company in Grayville.
Surviving are a son, John Alan Naney of Mt. Carmel; a daughter, Kathryn Brown of Carmi; a brother, James "Bill" Dorris of Ocala, Florida; a sister, Mildred Hill of Hemet, California; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 nephews, one niece and several cousins and great-nephews in the area.
Mrs. Naney's remains were cremated, and a graveside service was held Monday, June 20th at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
The Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville was in charge of the arrangements.

84-year-old Fairfield resident, Jack Richards died at 5:18 Wednesday evening, June 15, 2005 at the Flora Healthcare Center. He was a retired timber worker.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Fairfield; sons, Duane Richards of Melbourne, Fla., and James Richards of Durango, Colorado; adaughter, Judith Richards of Fairhope, Alabama; a brother, Gene Richards of Poplar Bluff, Mo., a sister, Lorene Stinnett of Southerland, Oregon; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jack Richards were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6 til 8 Friday evening, June 17, at the Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.

61-year-old McLeansboro resident, Jasper Lewis Morris died at 12:02 Wednesday morning, June 15, 2005, at Enfield Healthcare Center. He had been a steel worker for Jones and Laughlin Steel in Hennepin, Il.

78-year-old Fairfield resident, Mary L. Wright died at 4:05 Wednesday morning, June 15, 2005, at Way-Fair Restorium in Fairfield.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Wright of Fairfield; a son, Tommy Martin of Wayne City; daughters, Linda Mills of Ypsilanti, MIchigan and Carmon Geanne Swafford of Ypsilanti, Mi.; a brother-in-law, David Wright of Geff; a sister-in-law, Judy Wright of Fairfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leslie Lee Ganieany
82-year-old Bluford resident, Leslie Lee Ganieany died Sunday morning, June 12, 2005, at Blessings Hospital in Quincy, Ill. He had been a farmer, and operated Les's Sawmill in Farrington Township for many years. He was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with Gen. George Patton's Third Army in the Battle of the Bulge, earning a Purple Heart.
Survivors include sons, Rev. Leland Genieany of Bluford, Jerry Ganieany of Banner, and Rev. Luther Ganieany of Ina; a daughter, Una French of Dix; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Leslie Lee Ganieany were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery with full military rites provided by the American Legion Post 141 of Mount Vernon.

50 year old Rt. 1 McLeansboro resident, Dennis Link, died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, June 12th, 2005 at his home. He had been assistant maintenance manager for the Hamilton County Unit 10 School District. He had also been a member of the McLeansboro Fire Department for ten years.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Link; his parents, jack and Peggy Link of McLeansboro; a son, Adam Link of McLeansboro; two step-sons, Josh Gibbs of Spring Hill, Fla., and D. K. York of McLeansboro; two brothers, David and Mark Link, both of McLeansboro.
