CHARLESTON - Taylor Makenzie Cuppy, infant daughter of Troy and Jeanie Carter Cuppy, was stillborn at 9:03 p.m. Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
A service will be conducted at a later date.

Surviving are her parents of Charleston; three half brothers, Christopher Carter of Woodstock, Ga., and Travis Cuppy and Matthew Carter, both of Charleston; one half sister, Amanda Carter of Charleston; paternal grandparents, Brenda Cuppy of Charleston and Larry Cuppy of Sun City, Ariz.; maternal grandparents, Frank and Hilda Carter of Woodstock, Ga.; and paternal great-grandmothers, Ida Cuppy and Esther King, both of Charleston.
Eileen Dukeman
Eileen Marie Dukeman, 60, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2001, at her residence in Tuscola, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 E. Van Allen in Tuscola, IL.
Rev. Allen Kemme will officiate.
Burial will be in the Tuscola Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Eileen was born December 9, 1940 in Effingham, IL.
She was a daughter of Henry and Opal (Vaultenberg) Moon.
She married Buddy G. Dukeman on September 2, 1961 in Effingham, IL.
She is survived by her: husband, Buddy G. Dukeman of Tuscola, IL; two sons, Greg Dukeman and his wife Margaret of Huntsville, AL and Stan Dukeman and his wife Rene of MacClenny, FL; two daughters, Cindy Dukeman of Springfield, IL and Kathy Rooney and her husband Patrick of Racine, WI; three brothers, Charles Moon of Effingham, IL, Jim Moon and his wife Evelyn of Dieterich, IL and Jerry Moon and his wife Shirley of Teutopolis, IL; one sister, Evelyn Flowers and her friend Eddie Richey of Louisville, IL; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Melissa , Caroline Rooney, Anton and Alexandra Dukeman, Brittney Jackson and Nicholas and Brock Dukeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Robert Moon; and 1 sister, Henrietta Backs.
Eileen was a member of Forty Martyrs Catholic Church in Tuscola.
Following high school she worked for Consolidated Communications in Effingham and later worked for GTE Telephone Company in Tuscola as a switchboard operator.
She had also been employed at Dekalb Seed Company in Tuscola.
She enjoyed growing flowers, arts and crafts, listening to country music and spending time with family and friends.

Arvie Elder
ARCOLA - Arvie True Elder, 96, of Arcola, IL, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2001, at the Arcola Health Care in Arcola, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2001, at the Edwards Funeral Home, 221 E. Main St., Arcola, IL.
Rev. Barney Wells will officiate.
Burial will be in the Arcola Cemetery, Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Arvie was born April 26, 1904, in Short Creek, KY.
She was a daughter of Archie and Lillie (Allen) Edwards.
She married Willie Kane Elder on March 31, 1924 in Short Creek, KY.
He passed away October 20, 1967.
She is survived by: two sons, Ivan Elder and his wife Mary Ann of Mattoon, IL and Larry Elder and his wife Linda of Hazel Dell, IL; two daughters, Ruby Gray and her husband Tom of Assumption, IL and Pansy Bumpus and her husband Mac of Charleston, IL; one sister, Dora Hendrickson and her husband Wayne of Sun City, FL; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willie; one son, Denzil; two grandchildren, Rusty and Lonnie Elder; four brothers, Paul, Dewell, Golden, and Bloomell; 6 sisters, Ida Gilcrest, Christine Collins, Nellie Willis, Rhea Fentress, Dale Day and Maggie Ashley Johnson.
Arvie was a devout Christian woman.
Arvie was very attentive to memorization; she had memorized presidents, vice presidents, states and their capitals and state birds and flowers.
She also had a great love for poetry.

Thomas Flick Sr.
WINDSOR - Thomas Dallas Flick Sr., 88, of Windsor, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at Sunrise Care Center, Mattoon.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor with the Rev. Richard Eident officiating.
Burial will be in the Windsor Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 19, 1912, in Effingham County, the son of Daniel and Lala Brewer Flick.
He married Lillie Belle Osborn in 1937; she died in 1980.
Surviving are five sons, Thomas D. Flick Jr. of Windsor, John D. Flick of Sullivan, Jerry L. Flick of Mitchell, Neb., Daniel Flick of Windsor and Andrew Flick of Mattoon; five daughters, Velta McWhorter of Effingham, Lucille Welton, Dorothy Eggers and Debbie Gray, all of Mattoon, and Rosie Flick of Charleston; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Flick Sr. was employed at Quality Wood in Windsor and Superior Manufacturing and Moody Manufacturing, both of Mattoon.

CHARLESTON - Kaleb Joshua Hayes, 6 months, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
The graveside funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Mattoon, with the Rev. Kenneth Pate officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Harper-Swickard Funeral Home.
Mary McKinstry
SEAGOVILLE, Texas - Mary Lu McKinstry, 59, of Seagoville, Texas, formerly of Toledo, died Feb. 17, 2001, at her residence.
Family Funeral Care, Mesquite, Texas, was in charge of the arrangements.
She was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Toledo.
She married Laurence McKinstry; he survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Mary Adams of Toledo; one son, Jerome Andrew McKinstry; one daughter, Angela Lewis; one brother, Wendell Adams of Toledo; and two sisters, Janet Myres of Seagoville, Texas, and Sharon Hardy of Toledo.
Mrs. McKinstry attended the Spirit Walk Church.
June Padgett
FLORA - June Henderson Padgett, 83, of Flora, died Monday (Feb. 26, 2001) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Clay City Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
The Hasselton/Boukout Funeral Home in Clay City is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born June 25, 1917, in Clay City, the daughter of Curtis and Floy Henderson.
She married James L. Padgett in 1939; he survives.
Also surviving are three sons, James M. Padgett of Charleston, Patrick Padgett of Paris and Jeffrey Padgett of Carlinville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Padgett was a homemaker and school teacher.
She was a member of the Clay City Methodist Church.

James Sharp
METTER, Ga. - James Stephen Sharp, 63, of Metter, Ga., formerly of Mattoon, died Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2001) at his residence.
Private family services were conducted.
He was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Coles County, the son of John and Nellie Sharp.
Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Henes of Orlando, Fla., and two grandchildren.
Mr. Sharp had worked as an electrician at Columbian Machine in Mattoon.
Later, he served as a Christian missionary at a children's orphanage in Nicaragua.
He was a member of the Marinatha Christian Center.
Mary Smart
SHELBYVILLE - Mary Janice Smart, 84, of Shelbyville, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 25, 2001) in her residence.
A private family graveside service will be Wednesday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Sullivan, the daughter of Clark A. and M. Clare Perkins Gibson.
She married W. Roy Smart in 1938; he died in 1984.
Surviving are three sons, Gib Smart and Denny Smart, both of Shelbyville, and Steve Smart of Bloomington; two daughters, Sally Lash of Findlay and Barbara Adams of Gobles, Mich.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Smart worked for Sta-Rite Ginnie Lou in Shelbyville during World War II, and later for Knuth's, Dillow's Drug Store, Turner's Hallmark Shoppe, and Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, all of Shelbyville.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star 69, both of Shelbyville.

NEOGA, Illinois - Mrs. Mildred Livingston Storm, 70, of Neoga, Illinois, formerly at Green Bay Wisconsin, died at 3:34 a.m. Monday (February 26, 2001) at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, Ill.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2001) at the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Ill., with the Rev. Judith Curry of Neoga officiating.
Burial will be in the Neoga Memorial Cemetery, Neoga, Ill.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born September 14, 1930 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Starling B. and Mabel (Hood) Phillips.
She married Harry L. Livingston on Nov. 9, 1946 in Mattoon, Illinois; he died on Dec. 16, 1972.
She later married J. David Storm of Green Bay, Wisc., he passed away Dec. 12, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Larry Livingston and wife Paulette of Effingham, Ill.; daughters, Mrs. Tommy (Brenda) Himes of Neoga, Ill., and Mrs. Jim (Marilyn) Smyser of rural Neoga, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sue Livingston of Neoga, Ill.; brothers, Kenneth Phillips of Allenville, Ill., Bob Phillips of Victorville, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Betty Dink of Pontiac, Ill. and Mrs. Irene Reynolds of North Port, Fla.; special niece, Mrs. Jeanette Arneson of Janesville, Wisc.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Livingston; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandson, Larry Livingston.
Mrs. Storm was a housewife and homemaker.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Neoga.
